I would have described it as the kind of adaptation made by fans on no budget but then those exist and they end up looking better than the "official" crap put out.
At least when fans do shit I can forgive them to for inaccuracies.
If a group of black guys are big fans of DragonBall, I'm not holding it against them for doing a fan-made bit with black characters. They're working with what they've got, and trying to engage in an IP they love, and they at least get whatever story beats right.
When these faggots get handed millions to do shit right, and fuck around and make head canon bs, it's irritating as fuck
If a group of black guys are big fans of DragonBall
"Big fans" undersells how popular DB is with black men, they fucking love it and would put more passion into a pet project like that than any corporate stooge looking to tick diversity boxes.
Cosplayers always put more effort into this than corporate cronies, in part because hobbyists work for their passion and don't have some middle management position hovering over their shoulder pushing a deadline on whatever work is going on. Wageslaves however must have a product done by a certain time and as a consequence quality suffers all the time due to rushed mandates from execs and others higher up the pecking order.
Robert Iger was born to a Jewish family in New York City.[1][5][6] He is the oldest son of Mimi (née Tunick) (1927–2013) and Arthur L. Iger (1926–2010).[7][8]
Plus just because the immediate face of a company isn't blue, blue really wants to destroy Disney because it was founded by a very talented White man. Its existence says that all you have to do is be skillful to break into and dominate the market (And he hated blue's)
This show is a perfect showcase of how Disney went from “kinda woke” to insane far-left Marxist diversity cult within just a few years. I only ever watched the 1st season of this show, but it genuinely seemed like a decent show with a strong male role model lead and a father/son dynamic. Now after hearing this, along with seeing the screenshots of that fat black singer pretending to act, I’m disappointed but not surprised.
Do they do anything besides slaughter golden egg laying geese anymore?
It's like they think they can swap them out like the idol from Indiana Jones and the fans will not notice because they are both wearing a 'helmet of reference'
Eh, the first two seasons were entertaining. It was basically a throwback to the episodic westerns of the 50's-60's. Most episodes were relatively low stakes- kill the monster/gang plaguing the town- with baby Yoda serving as the background story arc throughout the season.
Season 3 is just weird, rambling, and non-sensical. They brought baby Yoda back for no good reason, and the Mandalorian has taken a back seat to some cartoon character. Disney could fuck up a wet dream.
Haven’t watched since I cancelled device but considering it’s Disney I assume this sets up another female lead? There have been Sone great shows with female characters in the past but this is a major issue with the diversity obsession. Becomes very predictable because you know the females will most likely take center stage even when the show is about a male (Obi-Wan). I still feel like I misunderstood when I heard Disney wanted something to appeal to boys
I think she is a good actress and doesn’t antagonize fans but at some point I totally get people rolling their eyes at yet another female led Star Wars show. There were already women who liked Star Wars before Disney bought it. When I was in EU forums in the 90s and early 00s plenty of women were there to talk about the books. I’d say the ratio was 65/35. Not sure how many new female fans they factually have made now. Plus with these new movies normies will go see them so I feel they will make money unfortunately
I totally get people rolling their eyes at yet another female led Star Wars show
Do you know why it's happening with this specific character though?
Bo Katan has been in charge of the Mandalorians three times now, and fucked up every previous attempt at "retaking Mandalore", a planet that S3 has shown to be:
Abandoned: because nobody actually fucking wants it, except Bo Katan.
RIGHT FUCKING THERE: because on top of hyperspace being instantaneous in SW now the ease of getting to this lost homeworld is non existent.
Nothing like the brochure: because it was reported to have been bombed into a wasteland. And yet several times now it's been visited in S3.
As of right now in the show Bo Katan's character developement can be accurately described as:
Right back to where she was in the Clone Wars, over 20 years ago.
Filoni is just wanking off another of his OC yet again which will be the same sort of show Ashoka ends up being while ripping off Heir to the Empire with Thrawn despite KK claiming "tHerE's no SoURcE maTeRiAL!"
That's not hyperbole, they're literally making Zhan's Heir to the Empire, but with Ashoka instead of Luke because Disney has zero creativity.
He really is, and I'm glad more and more SW fans are realising this.
On top of introducing so many new OCs that managed to survive through both Order 66 and the entirety of The Empire, he introduced time travel to a 40 year old franchise just to keep one of those OC alive.
Time travel can be extremely hit or miss depending on what kind of time travel it ends up being but most franchises introduce it early enough for it to be somewhat accepted as a thing.
Forty. Fucking. Years. is outright tumblr tier effort though just to make sure his waifu doesn't get killed by Vader.
Which is frustrating for EU fans because when Disney bought Star Wars people were asking for Heir to the Empire. I said if you aren’t using what Lucas gave you then adapt Thrawn books or NJO. I feel the Rey movie will bastardize the Jedi academy books and have her do what Luke did. Or why not have her defeat the Vong with her mind
Keep in mind that movie is going to be set 15 years after the Disney trilogy because those movies are that toxic now. Even Disney doesn't want to touch their own content with a 10 foot year pole.
Because of the timeskip it also means Disney can pick and mix which characters get brought back. Oscar Isaac is a maybe as his contract for Moonknight probably gives Disney enough leverage to "ask" him to star in the new SW movies, regardless of how well the character gets treated. Again.
Wouldn't surprise me if he gets the original plan for Wedge which was to bring him back and kill him off too, just like happened with almost every legacy character except robot fucking magic black man Lando.
I feel the Rey movie will bastardize the Jedi academy books and have her do what Luke did
Absolutely.
Or why not have her defeat the Vong with her mind
Inb4 Disney make the Yuuzhan Vong an analogue for colonising hwuite people who get beat back by the white saviour woman and an army of spear wielding natives. Again. Because Avatar and every other production doing it hasn't been enough already.
I didn’t think of that but that is what they would do. I’m currently reading Star by Star and I like NJO. Certainly different but you could have a rated R or mature series based on it. I know some people are clamoring for Disney to introduce the Vong but like you said it will be an allegory for white colonization
Small note, they would kill you for calling them that :p it's like drawing Mohammed for them. 'Yuuzhan Vong' means "the children of Yun-Yuuzhan" so to call them otherwise suggests they have been disowned by their gods [and family], and as a society were described as "religious zealots" at the best of times.
My apologies. That is true. They are great villains and I remember being shocked about Chewbacca dying and the opening of Vector Prime when the Yuuzhan Vong spy kills everyone at the outpost on the edge of the galaxy. Another cool thing about Vector Prime was Mark Hamill doing the commercial for it.
They made a big deal about how being Madalorian means never taking off your helmet and now THE Mandalorian is going to be some bitch who constantly takes her helmet off? The ultimate Mando supremacist who wants to retake the motherland doesn't adhere to the old ways?
Thanks for not making your universe internally consistent Disney.
All they had to do was make the Heir to the Empire trilogy with Michael Fassbender as Thrawn, the guy who played Davos on Game of Thrones as Pellaeon, and the original 3 all together in the same place occasionally and The Last Command would have grossed 3 billion dollars.
I see it more as the destruction of beloved IPs to make room for their own idiocy but trying to entrap the original audience into their delusion.
Kind of like the Witcher Blood Origins, they purposefully are trying to demean and destroy IPs they don't like.
I feel like blood origin was what the Witcher adaptation would’ve been if Cavill hadn’t been there.
I would have described it as the kind of adaptation made by fans on no budget but then those exist and they end up looking better than the "official" crap put out.

Check out the season 2 finale if only to see what Star Wars could have been.

Yeah. That was weird how two episodes of Book of Boba Fett were basically season 2.5 of Mandalorian.
You think that's the worst of it? Did you see Jack Black and Lizzo as "Democratically elected royal monarchs?"
They looked like a Wookiee and Hutt without the need for CGI.

Phoney Filoni is a hack and always has been.

That's Bo 'repeated terrorist and insurrectionist' Katan to you, pleb!
I'm surprised they let the series run as long as it did without fucking it up intentionally like this.
They were just fucking it up unintentionally before.
All they had to do was make the Heir to the Empire trilogy with Michael Fassbender as Thrawn, the guy who played Davos on Game of Thrones as Pellaeon, and the original 3 all together in the same place occasionally and The Last Command would have grossed 3 billion dollars.
But then they would have to pay Zahn a few dozen million (a fraction of the marketing budget) for the rights. Clearly unacceptable.
Great Thrawn casting, btw.
I would tell you to write for Disney but you would get fired for actually wanting to write something people want to see.
It got Kathleen Kennedy's attention, and now that Bob Chapek is gone, she can play.
There's no way this stuff wasn't done before Chapek was ousted. It wasn't THAT long ago.
He had a solid year where he was being ousted. I'm guessing that became Kennedy's buffer.
Sounds like PP didn't pay enough tithe. Cope harder PP.
Good. Pedro Pascal is huge crybaby. Don’t let your helmet hit you in the ass on the way out.
Didn't Moff Gideon say it couldn't be done that way? It had to be "EARNED THROUGH COMBAT".
Also, totally bait-and-switch. Go figure.
