I got lucky and found some older anniversary edition with all 3 books into one, had my hobbit one for ages as well(incidentally also an anniversary edition from years ago). Sometimes really hard to find something but I wish you good luck hunting for them.

Throughout my life, despite all the discussions I've seen about "banning" books from public schools or libraries, no one ever suggested editing them. It was universally understood that whether you like them or not the author's words are what they are and it's not appropriate for someone else to surreptitiously rewrite them.
