Because Europe didn't have any nogs for the vast majority of it's existence, and the game is based on medieval Europe. While we're on the subject, Yasuke the black samurai was literally made up.
Shouldn’t that be common sense. There is truly something wrong with these people. Sad that they have so much influence. You could do a funny SNL skit where you pitch a show set in 1100AD Iceland and the execs keep asking about diversity
Ahh, Marx. Probably the first adherent of word salad. It baffles me to this day how such a shitty scholar could have ever rose to prominence, besides with the aid of the devil.
Of course, looking through that paragraph we see the devil in abundance. A state of never ending agitating and self inflicted unrest, all from a perverse and wicked desire to make the possessions of others their own.
Being and non-being are the same, therefore it is the same whether this house is or is not, whether these hundred dollars are part of my fortune or not.
Damnation I lost an enormous reply, fuckin mobile piece of shit. I'll summarize.
Marx's analysis of capitalism is highly flawed and intellectually dubious for several reasons, some of which I will elaborate on.
Firstly that his theories are predicated on the labor theory of value, which had been debunked a century prior. Labor inherently has no value unless it is desired, warranted, and has a beneficial outcome.
Secondly that he misconstrued the concept of capitalism, conflating it with greed and covetousness in order to argue against what capitalism really is. In essence he strawmanned it. Capitalism in reality means nothing more than the free exchange of goods and services. Something that is a fact of human existence and is in a literal sense harmless. One man trading a horse to another man in exchange for wheat doesn't effect you in the slightest. To bypass that truth, Marx relied on an externality theory, the idea that any and everything other people do somehow effects you, and therefore justify laying collective claim to not only the possessions of others, but to those other people themselves. Externality theory is really where the lies of his philosophy evolve into tyranny, because it allows the adherent to reach out and declare that so long as anyone else exists who is allowed not to bow to the ephemeral collective good(which as a reminder is entirely based on the jealousy and covetousness of the Marxists themselves), then somehow theft is occurring.
I've never read the author you quoted, but it seems myopic. The idea that the modern time is a period of unparalleled greed or excess of the self styled elites flies in the face of history.
Honestly could you imagine how amazing some games with entirely African casts would be if they were accurate, an rpg of the zulus done right would be insane. Just doing tribal conquest and adding in African mythology would be so much fun.
Which is funny because the only African games allowed are Carthage and Egypt related, the two least black in the continent. One is basically just a bunch of Mediterraneans, and the other's most famously used period was all about European rulers anyway.
I’ve thought the same thing but you know someone on social media would whine about something. It’s a catch 22. Whine about European settings and white characters (putting aside for the moment that most people playing the game are white), so they
Ale a game about the Zulus that looks cool but then gaming journalists whine about it being problematic and they stop development. That is unless the developers had some guts
Sadly they would cry racism for a realistic African game unless it was wakanda. This is so disgusting for the actual history of Africa where you could have truly unique stories that haven’t been made yet on the struggles of tribes simply because they aren’t black Mary Sues. Having to build up an African tribesman going through a warrior ritual, hunting down large predator game and fighting off rival tribes would be a universal epic experience akin to Greek mythology but modern leftists would never allow it.
No they wouldn’t. A dynasty warriors type game in Africa would be fun and could be a learning experience. I learned a lot about ancient China from the dynasty warriors since they had an encyclopedia in the game where you could research the real people the characters are based on
Really? I want to believe you. Care to share any links or point me in the right direction? Whenever I look him up, there are articles and videos of soyboys cooming over him.
I am glad there are no nogs. They could have easily done what Sony did - blackwashing Angroboda in God of War Ragnarok.
Yes. The sole argument for the existence of Yasuke is the Jesuit chronicles of their missions to Japan. Which were filled with nonsense and aren't taken seriously by most Catholics. Several of them were bloating their accounts in hopes of a bishopric.
Nobunaga never mentioned him in his own writings. Which given that Nobunaga would write poems about pretty much anything he laid eyes on, suggests that the two never met. The sole corroborating account stated that one of the missionary priests had a black servant, and they presented him as a curiosity to Nobunaga's court, but there is evidence of nothing else.
Fascinating. I'm going to research this further. I don't care if there was a "black samurai" or not, but any chance to prove Wikipedia wrong on something is a good enough reason for me.
Here's another strain on historical credulity. Supposedly Yasuke fought for Nobunaga as a samurai. One of the claims is that he spoke fluent Japanese.
The time period between when they supposedly met and when Nobunaga was assassinated by Akechi Mitsuhide was... three months.
A black guy from what would now be Morocco, probably a slave to the priests, and someone whose language skills would have included mostly broken Portuguese, supposedly learned the second most difficult language on earth in three months. For reference, japanese has three goddamn formal alphabets.
There is nothing about the story that is historically credible. There is more evidence of Santa Claus than there is of Yasuke. Now if you want a Japanese historical figure that is actually interesting and actually real, I suggest Honda Tadakatsu. He's a real life Hercules.
Yasuke the warrior samurai was definitely made up. If he ever held such a title, it was only a title. He was still Nobunaga's manservant. Also, why the fuck did Nioh have him speaking English? William was probably the first fluent English speaker he would've ever goddamn met!
Their carefully curated reality might be diverse. IGN probably hires nothing but non-whites, but real reality is not. There aren't a whole lot of whites in Nigeria.
But the developer shouldn’t even have to explain himself. Just tell that person that this is how we made the game and if you don’t like it don’t play it
But that would make me so happy. Like I remember this game journalist pressing a developer about why the game didn’t address climate change. He was far too polite. Like with Anita Sarkessian can you imagine how much better gaming would be if they had told her to pound sand
The facts it isn't turn-based, or open-world (world map?), two off-and-on hallmarks of Final Fantasy, are vastly more important details than this journo's conniption fit, and they're nearly lost in the shuffle.
Final Fantasy X was the last mainline game to have turn-based combat, and Final Fantasy IX was the last one to have a world map. Both games are over 20 years old now. Those have not been hallmarks of the series for a generation. Final Fantasy's hallmarks nowadays are being overbudgeted and overdesigned messes of games that never meet their deadlines.
I was actually referring to the guy in the picture that you posted. That he was a shitty clickbaiter for writing these terrible articles, but apparently some took it in a different manner. ;)
Save you a click.

If Marxists had common sense they wouldn't be Marxists. The ideology requires you to abandon coherent thought.
And it’s sad that so many young people fall for it

Truly, a disciple of hell.
That would be Hegel:

"Reality is diverse" is such a hilarious cope by the author.
They always push for Zero History.
Their carefully curated reality might be diverse. IGN probably hires nothing but non-whites, but real reality is not. There aren't a whole lot of whites in Nigeria.
I see nothing wrong with the producer's comments here.
Then they can choose not to play it. Why don’t they understand that pressuring companies to make something diverse can stifle creativity.
They simply don't care. They are evil and will destroy everything unless you forcibly stop them.
But the developer shouldn’t even have to explain himself. Just tell that person that this is how we made the game and if you don’t like it don’t play it
I don't think any modern day dev will have the balls to say that.
I don't think any modern day dev WHO IS ON OUR SIDE will have the balls to say that.
That fucktard on the new G4 said it wasn't FOR us. So we didn't watch. And it died.
But that would make me so happy. Like I remember this game journalist pressing a developer about why the game didn’t address climate change. He was far too polite. Like with Anita Sarkessian can you imagine how much better gaming would be if they had told her to pound sand
Are you listening to what I am telling you? The world is not as it should be and it has not been in a very long time, if ever.
Deal with what is and not what should be.
Oh I do, but a man can dream of a better world despite the reality he sees ever day
Just so long as you don't confuse the two.
As much as I’d like to, I can’t. But I can sing If I can dream by Elvis all I want. Lol.
It's not about choosing something that doesn't bother them, it's about taking away any choices their enemies might have at all.
I see that but it still is irritating. These idiots are so childish. I guess they never learned that everything doesn’t always go their way.
Because it's not about creativity, it's about control.
Nothing is more sad than a messenger boy raging at the world for his lack of influence.
Journalists are just that, errand boys who deliver you newspaper.

And just like that, I’m interested in this game.
It certainly jumped up on my interest scale. Not only with the guy at the helm, now it annoys the wokies too.
If 15 and the 7 remake is anything to go by, it'll have pointy-haired fags and strong female characters^TM in abundance though.
There's the Dominants of Shiva and Garuda. And by the way, Clive is the only playable character.
Clickbaiter.
Huh?
