Tentatively, I've got to say you were right. There's a lot of cope happening here. Still possible that Le Based Elon is playing the long game, but I'm not going to hold my breath. It reminds me of the reactions to Trump's nominees. Trust Sessions. Trust Barr. Just two more weeks guys.
Wake me up when everyone who was unfairly banned is back on the platform, with no fear of being banned again.
Trump's problem was that his business method was to hire people and if they fail then fire them. He didn't understand that he wouldn't be able to fire them. Elon for the most part can still fire anybody he wants to at any time, so that's where it's different.
I think Elon's method is just going to be individual cases that he becomes aware of then looks into and maybe fires somebody responsible for it. So it'll still be a slightly less left-wing echo chamber, but superficially it'll look like he's doing something.
He's writing what they want to hear, interspersed with things they would rather not ("Twitter will not allow anyone who was de-platformed for violating Twitter rules back on platform until we have a clear process for doing so, which will take at least a few more weeks" / "Twitter's content moderation council will include representatives with widely divergent views... blahblah"). We'll see. There might be a few positives to his takeover. That's the most you can hope for. It's not going to be a short fight back against the long march through the institutions.
They already balk at having to pay for a Twitter Badge. So I doubt they'll stay around having to actually put money to their vaunted Blue Check legitimacy.
I'll wait until the 'the other side' of that coin is picked, if it's more like the RINOs then yeah that's a problem. But if he picks someone who's more like your MAGA guys, that might make things interesting.
People from both the right and left have fallen into the trap of thinking that Musk was "one of us". He seems to have his beliefs and plans that may align with one in of the political spectrum in some places, but be wildly divergent in others.
The answer is to not place your hopes in individuals to solve your problems for you. I just assume that institutions and political figures are trying to exploit and oppress me regardless of political affiliation and try and avoid them when I can.
My opinion on Elon Twitter will depend on if Thomas777 gets allowed back on. Probably other accounts too but I'm not awake yet to think of others who should be unbanned
I told you guys that Elon Twitter was still going to be shit.
The civil society leaders he talked to are from far left activist groups like the NAACP and the ADL.
Twitter will end up like paypal - banning conservatives and stealing your time and money for voting republican

I'm still surprised it happened so quickly and I bet most of the people here feel the same.
What a stupid fucking coward. I am intensely embarrassed to have been excited about this takeover.
I just want twitter to stop blocking me because I don't have an account, I used to be able to browse it without hindrance.
When that account popup comes up click the login button, then press the X to close the popup.
https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/wiki/Instances
Used like "nitter.instance/user/status/digits".
Example from OP archive link: https://nitter.it/elonmusk/status/1587670513819729920
There are also browser add-ons available that automatically redirect to a Nitter instance. This one seems pretty good.
That one only works for googles web extensions though, here's a GreaseMonkey script that does the same:
// ==UserScript==
// @name Nitter Redirect
// @namespace https://greasyfork.org/en/users/728780-turbo-cafe-clovermail-net
// @description Always redirects to nitter
// @include ://twitter.com/
// @version 1.03
// @run-at document-start
// @author [email protected]
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==
window.location.replace("https://nitter.it" + window.location.pathname + window.location.search);

Everyone in here freaking out: all he said was that he talked to those people. He's not hiring them or giving them veto or censorship power.
It serves no purpose to just jump the gun and freak out over him when his stated goal is less censorship and he's in the process of figuring that out.
The fact that you're fine with this is cause enough for concern.
If anything bringing leftist to the table, giving them a fair offer and having them freak out only helps prove that they are crazy to normal people.
They already balk at having to pay for a Twitter Badge. So I doubt they'll stay around having to actually put money to their vaunted Blue Check legitimacy.
Catturd supposedly already getting tipped off that he's been partially shadowbanned again
Gay.
What's next? Joe Biden is a good kindergartner?

You get a bush think tank. That's it. A bunch of yids, their golems, and a jew from a neocon NGO. Thus you have been represented, hwhyte man
There's the control opposition! There he is. The wannabe cool dude.
Oh look, Elon was just playing both sides. What a surprise.
Member when greenblatt literally went "delete this!" when muskrat posted a boomer hitler meme and he cucked?

Well that was short lived, wasn't it.
