What's the thing that makes people want to watch Predator movies? (boundingintocomics.com)

In reply to Wilding inquiring as to what she most enjoyed about playing a female character is “is a warrior and not a cook”, Midthunder observed that it was “the feeling of really believing in yourself or something and wanting to prove that to people or having naysayers who make you believe in it more.

Prove what? That you can be a fake warrior thanks to editing and CGI?

Predator has the same problem as Aliens, it's first two movies were great because they had two good concepts to work off (predator 1 in jungle against spec ops, 2 urban jungle against cops, alien 1st one claustrophobic horror, 2nd a military thriller) but lost their way trying to out do themselves and then got hit by diversity.

Just let them die movie wise at least, you could probably get better comics or games with them still

To be fair- predator vs plains indian could be cool; plains indians were natural warriors- but they had to fag it up by making it a woman.

Natural warriors with rocks and arrows who would have zero chance against a predator.

I think that's kind of the point though. The whole "warrior spirit overcomes" trope. Dutch beat the Predator with mud and primitive traps made of wood.

Dutch beat the Predator with mud and primitive traps made of wood.

And the body of Arnold Schwarzenegger. That wood wasn't a bunch of fragile twigs and it didn't cut and position itself.

That's a very valid point, and it's why I'm not holding my breath on this one. If the audience score is decent I might give it a watch. Otherwise, I'll just stick to the original two movies.

Dutch didn't defeat the predator with steel.

Predators are not mindless killers. They are sport hunters who obey certain codes of honor. That’s why they typically don’t kill unarmed targets. In the original movie, when Dutch is all but defeated, the Predator takes off his weapons to fight hand-to-hand. You could totally make a movie about a predator ditching his gear to hunt native Americans.

Of course, that’s not the movie they made.

Many years since I've seen the movie but I'm pretty sure Dutch fucked up his targeting system when he hit him with a log-trap.

The only way this would work is if it demonstrated extreme cunning. The only way someone can beat an extremely technloligicaly superior entity is via a great deal of trickery

Dutch only defeated the Predator by leaving the guns and using a literal rock and other improvised weapons.

Depends on the predator iirc comics and novels. Some of them dont kill anyone they don't consider worthy of hunting while others are more free for all

I'm pretty sure at least one woman is killed in Predator 2's subway scene.

I want to see a charter spaceship full of Predator tourists hit Beijing, LaWhore and New Deli. A gory comedy in three acts.

The first predator movie was about as close to perfect as movies get. The second one was still good. Everything after suggests that Hollywood literally forgot how to make movies.

Prey is a predator movie? I thought it was a shitty "adaptation" of the Prey videogame. Lol.

To answer the OP, Predators are cool. I won't go out of my way to pirate this movie, but someday I will watch it when an opportunity to see it for free appears.
