b) Did he see the rising discontent and just try to shoehorn his way back into the limelight on his own accord?
For those that don't know, this guy is your typical populist agent provocateur that riles people up into frothing mobs that only see things in terms of black and white skin.
He is also the textbook case of a champagne communist: he'll put on his fancy Italian tailored suit, put on his expensive Swiss watch, then climb into his luxury German sedan, and drive from his little villa in a gated neighbourhood to go and campaign in the slums, where he tells everyone that they're (including himself) are all "poor workers" being oppressed by "white monopoly capital".
Never mind the fact that the majority party in the country has been black for 27 years and that reverse racism "affirmative action" laws have become only more and more stringent as they double-down on their plan that does nothing but enrich the nepotistic and crony capitalist inclined.

A while back I was talking to a guy from work about attacks against white farmers in South Africa, I forget the event but it was horrifying at the time, something about farmers getting executed in their own homes, not only did he not care but he said it was good because they were white, him being a white guy.

Seeing South Africa today I'm not convinced that getting rid of Apartheid was worth it
