This got removed from kia1 on Reddit for being irrelevant politics so I found my old favorite kia guys!
I don't understand why companies feel the need to comment on this. I'm sure not every employee there agrees. I just want to play my space trucker game, and now I can't ethically consume this product. I've enjoyed flying my starter ship around, but this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Oh well more money for uni!
Edit: 17 hours later and no response as to why it got removed form KIA1.
You have noticed the German Cat.
I've already understood the concept but have never had it put into words so succinctly or given a name, like that. Thanks for the read!
Auron MacIntyre is really good at distilling things down in simple terms, although this particular illustration is adapted from Moldbug.
Il have to check him? out more, im starting to notice all this garbage every where now that in in university. I always knew about this stuff but im seeing just how prevalent it really is.
Sounds like bullshit.
Yes, they do. The deep state is very strong and is working in lockstep to consolidate their power. The number of elites is relatively few. There's about 2600 billionaires in the world. That is a tiny number. Barely bigger than the core US federal government (House, Supreme Court, and President + VP), but these elites run multiple countries as well as supranantional organizations like the UN and NATO.
The centralized propaganda apparatus most certainly exists. It is run by unelected robber barons.
Thanks. I’ve never heard of the German cat.
He did put it into words very well. Good read.

KiA1 is now the space for people who were unwilling to accept one part of the leftist narrative, but still wanted to have Evil Right-Wing Reactionaries to point at so that they can prove that they're still good people.
I think it's been over a year since I last browsed. At that point it was almost exclusively posts from B-VOLLEYBALL-READY and Sophia Nawaz twitter links.
tbf It's been like that for a few years now. What's the point in even posting an OP when it has a 95% chance of getting R3'd? Nevermind the fact that videogames, RPGs, Comics, etc. is much too small a focus when every problem we see in those comes from something far greater.
The people still at KIA1 will probably never get to the point where they look beyond mass-media. They're no different from Chris Ray Gun and his ilk in that regard.
KIA1 loved the "ackshually GG was all liberals" because they still found the right wing super icky and didn't want you to associate them with those guys. They loved posting Tranny Narwitz and Milo and other "NotYourShield but is Our Shield" minorities because they still accepted the baseline narrative of the Leftists'.
And like any good Leftist they could only tolerate breaks from the narrative so far, peasants questioning their authority, and actual desire to go beyond tweeting activism. Which is how most people ended up here.
I've quite enjoyed the previous time of spent with it. From a gameplay perspective I don't think it deserves all the scorn it gets. (Although I do believe it does deserve some)
The majority of the scorn is about the development itself. For the amount of money and time they have there should be a full game multiple times over, instead of just something you can spend some time on.
I've heard very little actual criticism of the gameplay itself other than "where is the rest" which is a sign that whatever is there is good without factoring in the rest.
The problem is there is no gaming media.
A proper games media that wasn't corporate bootlickers would explain to people that building core tech from the ground up that literally didn't exist before this game came into development takes a long time.
Just like Gears of War wasn't just built from nothing, it had nearly ten years of lead-time with the original Unreal Engine used for the various Unreal and Unreal Tournament games that preceded it. But no one thinks about the platform and tools required over the course of a decade to make Gears of War a reality, they just think that whenever asset creation started is when game development started.
In short, Star Citizen wanted high-fidelity ground-to-space flight with real-time weather, atmospheric changes, and dynamic flight models depending on whether you were in atmosphere or space. They also wanted a fully persistent MMO environment. The tech for all of that didn't exist at the scale they wanted to do in when development properly got underway in 2014, so they had to build all of that from the ground up (thankfully stuff like global illumination and procedural IK were already implemented into the CryEngine).
It took them several years to finish the planet tech, and the last two big hurdles are persistence (which they're about to start testing soon), and server-meshing (so thousands of players can all occupy the expanding solar systems at the same time).
I get why a lot of people are frustrated that there isn't more there, but a lot of that boils down to not having a proper, informational games media to explain why it takes so long to build, test and iterate some of this technology to scale.
Sadly, there has been so much misinformation and media sabotaging going on, that no amount of informing the general public at this point will ever make a difference. To their credit, what is available to play in Star Citizen runs absolute massive circles around every other AAA game out there right now, despite being buggy and janky.
You make a good point.
I quit the the head mod of Kia argued that game of thrones was too mainstream to be nerd culture
These human lefts should introduce gameplay mechanics or a minigame about borting kids IN SPAAAAAAAAACE.
Doom 3 had such gameplay about killing (dead);babies on Mars. I think Dead Space 2 too. Very prog, ahead of its time.
Do note the pedo flag they have in their avatar.
This new trend of money-grubbing corporations lecturing people is insufferable. Shut up and do your job.
Did they put out a comment on the new California gun laws? How about the Jan 6 hearings?
Why should I care what the management of a company thinks? Or worse the employees mocking and deriding people in the comments who have different options. No counter arguments, just rudeness. (Although I didn't waste too much time looking so I may be wrong there )
Shouldn't they finish the game first?
Reminder that Mandalore's video on Star Citizen is 6 years old this August and doesn't need an update because absolutely nothing has changed
I dunno Roberts, maybe release a fucking game before gobbing off?
As if I needed another reason to dislike them
First round backer btw
I just want a AAA quality space trucker game No game has managed to scratch that itch like SC yet
For "space trucking", does Elite Dangerous not scratch the itch?
I enjoy some aspects of SC but for me it's strength over other games is the ability to walk around and admire the ship designs, run around on planets or space stations, and get into trouble with other players on missions. Sitting in the cockpit on trade runs is boring but I sort of understand why some people like it.
That's kinda what I mean by space trucking! I want to be Malcom Reynolds and go check on my cargo of cows, space psychics and smuggled goods. I want to set my course and go make coffee in game with my Alien wife. I want to manually unload cargo, not just use a menu like in X3.
Space engineers hits some of the itchs but that game is so unstable it's a pain to use.
Isnt No Man's Sky basically that?
Put this on and every game becomes a space trucking game.
company slogan: by faggots, for faggots
Video games 😐
I wonder how they feel about vaccine mandates? The argument is moot
"Reproductive rights."
Fuck off.
Cloud Imperium believes paying for abortion is cheaper than paying for maternity. Cloud Imperium doesn't give a damn about lives of anyone, only the bottom line.
So, we can make all corporates throw the abortion issue out of the window if we go to court and argue that maternity leave is discrimination against men because they can't get pregnant, against trannies because it reminds them of not being real women and against old women because they can't get pregnant anymore...
I like that idea. Maybe I'll get paid more if the company I work for doesn't have to keep money aside to pay women for their own choice, that they made.
Oh, they found time between scamming people for more money to...posit on another scam for money? How original.
Without judgment? That's strange. Do they support their employees' freedom of speech without judgment?
This is actually an evil statement. At some point, your conduct must be judged, at the very least, by your victims.
It's like saying, "proud to be shameless". At a point, shame is a good thing.
Scummy soulless corporation that scams people has scummy corporate opinion.
"We stand by the belief that every person should have the freedom to choose what is best for them as an individual without judgment"
"Just not babies. Fuck babies."
And if someone were to decide that what is best for them is to murder someone and take their shit? No judgement, please.
This argument is so moronic.
So... They're pro the abolition of RvW? It moves things much closer to their stated goal of it being in everyone's hands individually, as it moved it down from a country-level to a state-level law. Move it down a few more notches, to county, city, neighborhood, and get that libertarian paradise... Weird how so many people came out as libertarians this past month.
