The incredibly harmful subtext of Kim Kardashian's 'advice' to women (media.communities.win)

In one paragraph the writer claims that women are the victims of being “overworked”, “underpaid”, “mental illness”, “a global pandemic” and “threat of nuclear war”. The complete dismissal of meritocracy because “women work hard too”.

Nagging isn't a paying job.

A major issue that people like this always miss is that it's not working super hard that gets you anywhere. It's having some sort of unique-ish value to society. The US is importing hundreds of thousands of people a year who are perfectly happy to do menial, zero-skill labor 80 hours a day for minimum wage. You being willing to do the same doesn't make you valuable, it makes you a replaceable part.

Women - who are objectively not overworked by the way - are underpaid because they overwhelmingly go into fields that are either extremely easy or have no value to anyone. None of them want to do the hard jobs that nobody wants to do. There are precious few female truckers, oil riggers, linemen, or plumbers. All of those jobs are well-paying, but only men do them. You can't turn your nose up at jobs that are hard and then get mad that you're not being paid very much to do something easy.

Not even unique skills required, just valuable skills. Although you are close to the truth - labor follows demand-price like any other commodity. Get in-demand skills, get paid.

Working hard is a meme. Working hard is a sure way to stay poor. Get a skill that is in demand and make money. When people say "work smart" this is what they are trying to say, they just do not know economics.

Her comment was stupid and bad, but she's a woman so shrug, why is anyone listening?

I have a better advice for those "mentally unwell females": stop reading shit like MSNBC and your mental health will improve.

If these women get 'mentally unwell' because of the pandemic and "the threat of nuclear war", are they not saying that opponents of female suffrage were correct?

"This is what they said, but this is what the mean."

No, the curtains are fucking blue because that's the colour someone bought! It has no fucking subtext you failed "literature writer".

The death of the author and its consequences have been a disaster for literary analysis

I worry about people who get upset at the idea of working for what you want. Yes there are disadvantaged people, but they can be helped and it doesn’t negate the general advice.

I've heard about educators arguing that you don't need to teach children about personal finance because they need to be given opportunities to make money, not called a failure because they don't have any. This is the sin of equity.

I hate the equity philosophy. Such a dangerous lesson to tell people they aren’t responsible for their actions

Ah, Liz Plank. The insane woman who tried to cancel Jordan Peterson's book.

As usual, femminists think meritocracy and hard work is patriarchy.

Ironically women didnt ask for this.

The Suffragettes and Feminists were fringe movements and were only given their demands because the destruction of the western family unit and an increased, albeit less competent, labor force benefitted the globalists.

Work, or get a husband (and don't be a whore).

Just stop being a bitch.

Maybe its because women were not meant to be working men's jobs?

For all their "liberation" and "rights", women in the west are objectively the most miserable and depressed.

To be fair they are right, for the wrong reasons.

A Woman can always inherit or divorce into wealth far easier/faster than creating it. Look at lists of the richest Women, almost overwhelmingly divorce or inherited.

Kim got famous because she let some c-list rapper fuck her on camera and then whored around various other famous dudes. She isn't the best person to be talking about working hard to anyone. I doubt Lizzo points that out.

The thing that's galling is simply because this bitch has never done a real day's work in its life. How did it get its money again? Old money, like Hilton? Who are these people, anyway, and why are they so famous?

(That being said, no one ever talks about the professions that used to be practically female-only, such as nursing; though typing jobs as we used to know them have pretty much gone obsolete.)
