Nationalized trucking is next

Fully automated trucking is next. They're already testing it. Blue collar protests won't be a problem if you don't need working class people to maintain your supply chain.

Autonomous vehicles can barely operate outside of strictly controlled city conditions. We're at least 10 years out from having trucks that can handle snow, mountains, or snowy mountains. The technology simply does not exist.

Not to mention all the routes that would need to be heavily guarded, if and when things get bad enough to make those trucks targets. The military had a hard enough time guarding the roads in Iraq, so I can't imagine they'll be able to protect all the roads across the US.

The logistics and sheer risk involved will keep that from happening for a long time.

A single mistake in one of those auto trucks could be hundreds of thousands of dollars in product, close to the same in just the truck alone, and untold additional damage from something of that size causing an accident.

No company, no matter how confident, wants to be the first one on the road with all the eyes on them just waiting for that to happen. And no matter how many lab tests you conduct, you cannot control for every factor on the road so something will happen.

Wouldn't that be stupid easy to steal by getting a truck (or similar big vehicle) to get in front of one and start drifting back towards it forcing it to slow down and brake... then just pin in the truck. I mean, it's like we could go all Mad Max on the down vehicle.. and there's little to nothing it can do once people are on it.

Remember that one trucker in Colorado that killed all those people because his breaks failed?

One glitch could equal dozens of bodies and burning wreckage.

Yeah, and the moment that happens (and it will, the roads aren't a kind place) the entire company behind it will be sued into oblivion from both the victims AND whoever's product they lost.

Its a business where you want human adaptability and error to both prevent said events and protect you when it happens.

Meh, the mechanical field is still very blue collar, someone will still be needed to the dirty work and maintenance.

Seeing how people ransack train cargos in LA. I don't see this working out at all. You need a human to keep an eye on things and serve as a deterrent.

Trudeau: We shut down those businesses and then the truckers complained and shut down businesses, so we had to shut down businesses.

The Economy: EVERYTHING'S COMING UP MILHOUSE!

Poutine is from Quebec.

Ontario is so lame it doesn't even have a signature dish.

My bad. I’m only ever in Montréal. Wasn’t sure if it was popular throughout the country or not.
Hockey sticks will be more expensive.

Ooooh, good job Ontario. Half the shelves at the grocery stores are empty and you're shutting down truckers. What great leadership!

So, I've been pulling money out of corrupt banking systems for the last week, looking for somewhere to drop it...

If any truckers are looking to help me start a new trucking business, I'll pay well for "consultants"...

Odd statement considering they have already cleared out all the trucks, tell me, do you think another protest will start while they are currently ruining the lives of everyone involved even slightly with this one? Jan 6th has had people in solitary confinement for close to a year over misdemeanor trespassing charges. It’s great to be bold, it’s foolish to believe you can initiate change without the power to back your beliefs.

And no one ever said rebelling against tyrants was going to quick and easy.

Just history

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– Ahaus667 4 points 4 years ago +4 / -0

Well then you’d be wrong. If you actually read history it’s extraordinarily easy to rebel against tyrants, you just need to either undermine or overpower their power. A conglomeration of tyrants ie democracy is actually the easiest to overthrow because the power is not absolute and easily displaced. If a city lost its water supply how long would they last pushing tyrannical measures? Like I stated elsewhere, infrastructure is king, that’s why people have begun building a parallel economy.

Lol this is cute, this little protest is doing exactly that. I’m working on building the parallel economy that can stand up to government so bank accounts don’t get frozen, so that businesses can’t be shut down arbitrarily. This trucker convoy was lazy and doomed to fail from day 1. Want to beat the tyrants? Get a bigger stick.

This. it ENRAGED the bought out media that the truckers werent violent blmers/ they are doing the right thing, and with enough groundswell of support, they CAN eventually win this.

You think they will be allowed to do anything? This is the blissful ignorance of not actually paying attention. Tell me, what are they going to do with their businesses and capital seized?

I always find it odd how you larpers always scream “that’s what they want” Jan 6th had globalists shitting their pants and it didn’t even have a smidgen of the violence it could have. Having an infrastructure the government can’t seize or take down is the death of that government. Think of the best ways to take back control, the government relies upon you to rely upon them. Once you no longer need the government they no longer have power. That’s why they seize the institutions of necessity, your food, water, electricity, phone lines, internet, etc. The only way nonviolence could meaningfully deter them is if the people are not reliant upon the government services.

Can you use your parallel economy to buy a potato yet?

If not, you haven't done anything, considering your contempt.

will quietly bow down

is equally laughable

will be blown over just like every other

pretend these bad people will get their punishment

you meekly sit underneath them

holy shit. you fucking did it. you just saved democracy by bitching on your computer, its a christmas miracle !!!

He is totes making the parallel economy, didn't you read it? It's nothing at this point, can't be used, has no people using it, but it will be great.

It also helps that the BLM movement was about the expansion of government. The trucker were for less government.
