Thyroid problems are fixed with meds that costs pennies a week, and oh great irony, PCOS usually go asymptomatic when you lose weight and rarely manifest if you don't get fat in the first place ( can happen, but rare ).
Cruel mocking dosen't work and usually result in self-pity bitterness that the fattie comforts with eating to forget the bad fee-feels.
This has a sociological role though, to encourage other people who make an effort to stick to it. But the immediate target is not benefiting of that, so a loved one won't benefit from "tough love".
