They're going to be legislating violence against the unvaccinated by summer, guaranteed.

Hop the border and claim asylum once in a friendly state? There are only so many options for non-compliance.

Hop the border into antartica.

Only sane place left at this point.

All we have is a promise that we won't be forced to vaccinate, despite needing to be vaccinated to enter a restaurant.

The proper response to violence is overwhelming violence.

After all the government of Quebec is doing to us, I wish I could go to Florida.

And I say this as someone deeply attached to my people and the French language.

Guaranteed that they won't. They're not that obvious about it. They generally do this sort of thing with a fig-leaf of legitimacy so that their drones can defend it. They'll probably deny the unvaccinated medical care if there are others in line.

I keep expecting them to finally push too far, yet I keep being surprised how far people are willing to be pushed.

It's hard for a demonized minority to fight back. That is why they make sure to blame the unvaccinated for everything, otherwise those who are vaccinated may fight back.

I'm seeing a disturbing amount of people here in Aus that are being moved from unwilling but ambivalent to full on deepthroating the propaganda. I was not expecting that to be a direction that large numbers of people took.

So... Another tax on the poor.

Just like how you can't use land borders, but air borders are A-OK, to ensure the rich overlords can do whatever they want, while they ruin the lives of the common class.

A lot of it is empty threats. None of the fines for breaking Covid made up laws stuck in court so none of these fines will.

They just know that people are extremely weak and will cave to getting the vaccine.

Austria threatened the same thing for February and already it's been extended until April.

Hold the line.

Things went crazy very fast.

R Québec is 75% foaming at the mouth with glee to dunk on the "antivax" government's scapegoat.

Any rational argument is dismissed because "obesity isn't contagious and smoking is taxed".

Except unvaccinated people are 0.7 X as likely to get infected and spread it as vaccinated people. Vaccines don't prevent transmission, so vaccination is indeed a personal choice.

But Coronacultists will never let go of the lie that "vaccines stop transmission", because it allows them to rationalize persecuting unvaccinated people and blame all the government's authoritarian BS on them.

I hope the unvaccinated don't start imposing a significant death penalty against people who impose financial penalties. That would be just awful.

who refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for non-medical reasons.

Oh good, that doesn't concern me then. I don't want the vaccine for medical reason, I want to stay healthy.

The premier made the announcement Tuesday afternoon, describing the measure as a "health-care contribution," though the exact amount has not yet been determined. The province is consulting with the Minister of Finance, but Legault said $50 or $100 "is not significant" enough for him.

Just to quibble with CTV's interpretation here a bit, if this is what he said, it does not follow that he is promising a "significant" financial penalty - just one that is "significant enough".

Anyway, I'm surprised as with the Omicron wave, even European countries have stopped bashing the unvaccinated.

I'm not saying that it's good, only that it'll probably not be as bad as Austria - where the unvaccinated face fines as high as 1500 euros.

Remember when the West complained that the GDR would not let its citizens leave? Now they are imprisoning their own subjects.

The majority of Canadians are idiots that will buy up whatever state sponsored media and systems say, having done no research on their own. They've been primed for it since they first entered the education system.

What about imposing a tax on the obese?

We have known since the beginning that this virus replicates in fat cells and hits the obese like a truck.

They had 2 years to put down their fucking cakes.

In the multiple Reddited Quebec threads there are obese people agressively whining that their obesity is not due to eating too much because they "tried barely eating anything and it didn't work", so you are an asshole for even daring to tell them to put to fork down and go for a walk.

I lived with an obese relative like that. Then after that person's second test results of worsening prediabetes and more whining that "it couldn't possibly be due to eating too much" I mercilessly pointed out all of the Secret Eating she was doing.

I can hear the soda and cake snacks in the middle of the night. No it's not an occasional thing. You do it every night. "Waaa I can't possibly sleep on an empty stomach!" Irrelevant and false. Eventually you'll be tired enough to sleep. That's 500 extra calories you forgot ever existed when you get up in the morning and it has to stop. Find something else to do at night.

That restaurent lunch because "you haven't eaten breakfast this morning" has almost the total number of calories you should have for the whole day.

And by the way, the empty bag of chips and can of soda in the car tell me you actually ate plenty for breakfast.

Oh my. Oh did I piss them off by voiding all the excuses and rationalizations they constantly make up.

But relative did something unexpected : the Secret Eating stopped, the meal portions shrunk. So the weight fell off, and the prediabetes vanished.

No it's not easy. But it's extremely simple.

Anyone old enough to reason at bit, so a teenager, is also old enough to understand overeating = piling-on excess fat, and can stop doing it. The rest is just excuses. Yes even the "muh thyroid PCOS" are excuses. They explain 10 - 20 pounds of mystery weight. Not 30, 50, 150, 250+. Thyroid problems are fixed with meds that costs pennies a week, and oh great irony, PCOS usually go asymptomatic when you lose weight and rarely manifest if you don't get fat in the first place ( can happen, but rare ).

Probably why big tech bans all fat shaming subreddits…

Cruel mocking dosen't work and usually result in self-pity bitterness that the fattie comforts with eating to forget the bad fee-feels.

This has a sociological role though, to encourage other people who make an effort to stick to it. But the immediate target is not benefiting of that, so a loved one won't benefit from "tough love".

Don't bother touching their overeating problem with other people around = instant defensiveness and other people comforting the fattie with more lies that nothing is their fault. It will just reinforce the Fatlogic delusion.

Methodically pointing the secreat eating with a reasonably acurate calorie count vs caloric needs has better results. ( But Fat Acceptance cultists consider that to be fatshaming anyway. )

The fattie's gears can start moving and bypass the stupid misinformation on the TV, news, magasines that told them nothing is their fault and "diets don't work" if the fattie can see you using the food scale, eat reasonable portions of anything, junkfood included, etc and mimic your portions.

Of course this is not always easy if you don't have the same caloric needs as the fattie and some hand-holding may be necessary to encourage sticking to portion sizes appropriate to them.

Explaining caloric needs helps alleviate some of the fattie's frustration if you're taller or exercise more. They need a motivation to change, though. Type 2 diabetes knocking at the door is rather motivating.

Why is it if you bring up the obesity and overeating that “other people comfort the fattie with more lies that nothing is their fault.” ?

Interesting that these friends will end up harming the fattie in the long run.

OP, we do get a lot of spam so we'd prefer if you make more comments in the sub by participating, rather than posting threads first.
