This is beyond even what I was assuming about Matrix 4 (screen grab from the web, I would never actually watch this) (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

The tranny's raison d'etre is to destroy. Other people by grooming them into its worldview and, of course, themselves.

It's what Critical Theory and Queer Theory do. They tear down and destroy. There is a vague promise of Utopia once the destruction is complete but that's as much a lie as saying the Wachowski troons are women.

The problem is that for any Critical Theory types, it's necessary to finish the destruction before they can even start assessing how to rebuild.

They've got to smash all of civilisation down to bedrock ... how many people would be left alive by that point, and why would a gender studies major being among their number?

Anyone seen it yet? I had no interest since it’s made in modern times and considering the brothers who made it now think they are women.

I will not give money or time to these despicable faggots. And there's nothing entertaining here either. It's, no doubt, 100% a long lecture / struggle session.

I just got out. It wasn't bad boys. It was more like the matrix 1 than 2 or 3.
The two screengrabs on .win front page are both literally 3 seconds in the 2.5 hour movie and it's actually sarcastic. That's part of the "newly updated" matrix and it's understood that the audience sees the matrix as a shit version of life and this scene in particular is poking fun at woke clueless game developers (implying they are precoded non-sentient beings stuck inside the matrix).
I'd give it a watch if you're a fan of the matrix 1, it's not stellar but it wasn't awful and definitely not a 2 hour trans-rights lecture like I was expecting.
I was worried the precident that the matrix set which is freedom, sentience, the power of the individual, would be ignored, but it was the central premise of 4.

I don't know whether to believe you, or this review: https://communities.win/p/140vQyDJpp/x/c/4JJhHQeIjjf

Considering I've seen other reviews similar, I think you're lying.

Edit: I've since seen the movie myself and this person is absolutely lying.

Meh. Don't get me wrong it wasn't anywhere close to what 1 was.
The meta-talk was part of the first half hour before the audience realizes it's actually the matrix. It has woke shit but then later in the movie it's explained that people are tortured and made miserable on purpose to generate more energy for the machines. The plot made sense except it ran very fast. Almost like half the movie was played at 1.25x speed. Makes me think this the prequel to the sequel.
Not the worst of the 4 for sure.

I sat through it today after giving up 10 minutes in last night based off this comment! This screenshot in particular is part of a montage where Neo is miserable at work.

It’s not really preachy or woke at all in terms of the plot. It’s just a terrible, terrible movie. Like George Clooney batman movie quality.

Yeah. They splice in seconds of the old movies on similar emotional beats and basically remake the first movie with Neo having a nerf power set...and of course Trinity saves the day. The action is all fast paced cuts and doesn't have time to breathe. And there's preaching in every scene. Every scene.

Plus the Operators can be seen in The Matrix (or this retconned version of it created by Patrick Harris). It gets annoying to remind yourself the Operator isn't really there...oh and Morpheus is nanobots that can fly...but he jumps from one thing to another then seconds later flies through a drain lmao!

"Matrix: Recycled": The worst of the franchise, by far. 1/5 stars

"The premise of a Matrix where the Matrix movies exist was promising. But what matters is not the premise, but the way in which the premise is executed. The "self-comment" is rigorously LITERAL: There are entire scenes consisting of characters commenting on the Matrix movies, which are laconic and stereotypical expressions of all real-world interpretations of "The Matrix" (with the notorious omission of the words "red pillling": which the Wachowski brothers hate). The plot doesn't make the slightest sense, to the point that some elements are unwittingly humorous, and everyone talks like the Architect's speech all the time." "And if you think: "I don't give a damn that the movie doesn't make sense: I want to go see explosions, Kung Fu fights and car chases", ... well ... There is hardly any of that in the movie, and it's all together in the last 25 minutes. And the fights are hideously poorly choreographed." "Larry Wachowski is one of the few remaining directors who uses CGI sparingly and prefers practical effects when possible. A little star for that"

That's a review i read today, i'm not going to watch that trash, not even pirated.

I laughed when I saw the first trailer and it said Directed by Lana Wachowski. It was one of those meta moments where I thought “oh my god this is actually happening, the directors of The Matrix became trans and are going to make an SJW commentary sequel for a film series that was basically an adrenaline rush with hot chicks and kung fu and man guns.”

So they made a movie about Jean Baudrillard's -- author of the book Simulacra and Simulation which was claimed to be an inspiration for the original trilogy -- criticism of the original trilogy?

…the most embarrassing part of the film is that the new problem posed by simulation is confused with its classical, Platonic treatment. This is a serious flaw. The radical illusion of the world is a problem faced by all great cultures, which they have solved through art and symbolization. What we have invented, in order to support this suffering, is a simulated real, which henceforth supplants the real and is its final solution, a virtual universe from which everything dangerous and negative has been expelled. And The Matrix is undeniably part of that. Everything belonging to the order of dream, utopia and phantasm is given expression, “realized.” We are in the uncut transparency. The Matrix is surely the kind of film about the matrix that the matrix would have been able to produce.

Expanded upon a bit in this review of the original trilogy given from a dissident right standpoint. I particularly like the argument that Smith is the only true rebel in the movie:

We start the series with a hopeful moment of self-actualization in the first movie, and the apparent goal of liberating all of humanity. We learn in the second movie that things don’t work that way, and that Neo is supposed to follow a path laid out for him, which he rejects in favor of his own path. And finally, in the third movie, Neo’s path converges back onto the path that he was originally supposed to follow anyway. Where, exactly, is the “radical rebellion” and “tearing down of the system” supposed to be?

The actual, full-blown “rebel” in this situation was Smith all along—in being freed from his programming, he comes to embody chaos, which is what made him a threat to the stability of the system. Had Smith succeeded in crashing the Matrix, the outcome would have been cataclysmic and radically transformative: the Machines compromise with Neo because Smith is on the verge of destroying the Machine City itself. Although most humans still connected to the Matrix would likely have died, the freed humans might have been more able to live apart from the Machines, and maybe even would have been free to grow their numbers and eventually rebuild civilization in the Real World.

Edit: also the really obvious green lights in the background in one frame evoking the falling matrix code stuff

I wouldn't even watch it anyway because the story's done as far as I am concerned, but this seems like kids trying to make another Matrix movie without having either ability or creativity

So I have this movie available for free, and still am not watching it.

Literally trying to redifine what the matrix is because it accidentally was so successful in exactly what it was supposed to do?

Watch “Source Code”, guys and gals... It is far superior to this shit, relatively unknown, not “woke” at all, and uses some of the same concepts (sort of)…

So we really ARE living in the Matrix/Inception’s dream world right now, then..?? 🤔

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– zeppelincheetah 1 point 4 years ago +1 / -0

We don't live in a dream world. My point was that in the context of the film that part is in the fake simulation of the Matrix, so it doesn't really matter what they theorize about the Matrix videogame (they're speaking about a videogame matrix simulation). In Matrix 4 Neo is again living in the Matrix just like he was in the first film and this Thomas Anderson is a world famous videogame designer who created the Matrix Trilogy. This scene is about conceptualizing ideas for a 4th Matrix videogame. It's a very meta scene, and is kind of like Scream 3 in the sense that it's a dramatization of something that actually is really happening. In Scream 3 the killings take place on the set of the movie Stab 3 (Stab 1 was a dramatization of the events of Scream 1, and Stab 2 was dramatization of the events of Scream 2 - Stab 3 was a made up-sequel where the killing events of Scream 3 occur). With the Matrix 4 instead of movies it's videogames. The Matrix trilogy videogames were based on memories (unbeknownst to Thomas Anderson) of the events of the first three Matrix films. So they are theorizing a 4th Matrix game and it is soon after this scene that a Morpheus character created in the video game meets Thomas Anderson for real with a red pill. It's a pretty good movie, very meta but very cool at the same time. Neo died in the original trilogy but the machines ended up reviving him and trinity (thus "Ressurections") because they came to the conclusion that a new matrix would need to be created. And how can you create a matrix where neo - who has already broken out before - is made sure not to break out again? Have him be a programmer of a trilogy of matrix videogames, have him have regular therapy sessions and be prescribed blue pills. It worked pretty well until it no longer did.
