I watch American soccer, which is pretty much the most pozzed of the American sports - way out ahead of the curve on this stuff. All the commie propaganda is annoying, but in the end I don’t care that much. The game is still the game, and I like the athletic spectacle of people playing soccer at a professional level.

I think it’s a bit different from video games in that the assessment of an athletic performance is largely objective - Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are the best soccer players in the world (and make shitloads of money for lots of people as a result), and no one is going to try to tell you otherwise just because they might have the wrong politics - it’s clear as day in a very objective, measurable way that they’re the best. (Fuck, Cristiano has a fairly detailed rape allegation against him, and no one seems to give a shit.)

It’s not like vidya, where it’s “art” and people are going to try to bullshit you into believing that mediocre games are good because they have the right politics or whatever. These sports leagues can suck Chinese / SJW dick as much as they want, but it doesn’t detract from the part of the experience I actually enjoy (the athletic performance), because the cream rises to the top and there’s not much subjectivity in that. No one is trying to sell the public on Collin Martin (gay guy bouncing around the minor leagues of US pro soccer) as a better choice for the US national team than Christian Pulisic (who gets regular games with one of the best pro teams in England), because anyone with two eyes and a passing familiarity with the sport knows that would be patently ridiculous.

So for now the SJW takeover of my favorite sport is a bit of a nuisance but not much worse. Who knows if it’ll get worse somehow.

I think it also helps that I don’t give a shit about my favorite artists’ and athletes’ political views. I like how they play music / run past a bunch of foreigners and kick a ball into a goal, and I understand that has no connection whatsoever to whether they’re a good person or have non-retarded political views or whatever. I appreciate them for the one very specific thing they’re exceptional at - I don’t idolize them beyond that, and I think it’s kind of silly to do so.

She left out the part where 2Pac’s “How Do U Want It” was blaring in the background as this happened.

I've always thought so, but I'm glad they had the guts to put it in writing.

Thank you - I’m not a climatologist, but I’m comfortable with numbers and familiar with reading academic research literature, so I’ve read some of the key papers, and from what I can gather...

  1. It’s pretty clear that CO2 emissions drive some amount of global atmospheric temperature increase

  2. It’s not at all clear what the magnitude of increase in temperature per increment of rise in CO2 is, and (as you’ve said) there may very well be diminishing returns / a dampening effect as CO2 levels rise

  3. Give 2), it’s not really clear whether the temperature rise we see with increasing CO2 emissions really has any practical negative impact as far as rising sea levels and all the other doomer shit everyone is all bent out of shape over.

What’s more, and perhaps more importantly, even if we assume there’s a problem that needs to be solved here to avert whatever catastrophe we think is going to happen, 99% of the solutions being proposed are basically totally impractical in that they’d set the Western world’s standard of living back about 100 years. Of course, given the shit that happened in 2020, I’m sure tptb will still try to force this shit sandwich down our throats regardless. Good times.

This is good. Very good. Thanks for the detailed suggestions.

We work 40-50 hours per week. Not insane hours, but enough to preclude home schooling. We’re in a city with a very high cost of living, and so we really do need the two incomes. I can’t bring myself to live to the burbs, which I busted my ass to escape in the first place and are going to be 100% full of mindless normie consoomer drones. Somehow living in a big city with 90% proto-commie dipshits and 10% actual free thinkers seems preferable - at least he’s got a shot at crossing paths with the free thinkers. I also can’t bring myself to live in the country, bc frankly I don’t have the skill set and would have zero job prospects.

As far as performance, my kid is really bright and I’m not so concerned about academics. He’ll learn what he needs to learn, if not in school then by pursuing his curiosity on his own. I more just need to figure out how to short-circuit the SJW brainwashing his school is inevitably going to throw at him.

Anyone here actually sending a kid to school in this environment? My kid is starting school next year, in one of the most cucked cities in the US. The public schools are cucked, the private schools are cucked, the charter schools are cucked, and the wife and I have jobs that don't allow us to home school.

I'd love to hear some advice from the field on how to protect my kid from SJW indoctrination and the resulting self-hatred. Not sure if I have the stomach to proactively fight with his teachers about every bit of indoctrination he encounters, or whether it's better to just let the teachers do what they want and then totally undermine their message when my kid is home with me.

Sorry, dude, but if Christmas is canceled because it carries too high of a risk of spreading infectious disease, well then indiscriminate gay sex is definitely canceled.

Lipsitch is a pretty obvious one

Really good question. If I had to guess, I’d say the lowest-level grunt is probably some public health grad who’s sort of trying to do an honest job but isn’t that bright and has SJW leanings (which might bias his findings and interpretations), and as his work goes up the chain, it probably gets much more explicit spin applied to it in order to establish the narrative that TPTB want to establish.

This type of thing should really be common knowledge. I’ve seen it over and over in my industry - any high-level individual in a public-facing role is a brainless mouthpiece for some much lower-level grunt who’s doing the actual work. Once you reach a certain point on the ladder, your job responsibilities involving actual substantive work go to zero and your job responsibilities involving looking nice in a suit and selling bullshit to your target audience goes to 100%.

You think Fauci is poring over SAS code and data tables or whatever? Of course not - some dipshit 25 year old public health grad is doing that, then writing a report of his findings and interpretations, then sending it up to his boss for review and revisions, and then that guy is sending it up to his boss for review and revisions, and so on and so on, until someone abstracts it into 5 bullet points on a piece of paper for Fauci to read at a press conference that he sneaks in between whatever other celebrity bullshit he’s doing. He has no clue about anything - he’s a guy in a suit who reads talking points that have been spoon-fed to him. iN fAuCi We TrUsT.

Same shit with this broad in Canada.

So if I’m I’m understanding correctly...

Having thanksgiving dinner with ma and pa and brother and sis? BASICALLY A WAR CRIME THAT WILL GET YOU SHUNNED FROM SOCIETY

Stealing shit? TOTALLY COOL

I think we all know that in a just world China would be paying reparations for the colossal medical, financial, and humanistic burden they’ve unleashed on the world. I think we also all know that’ll never happen, because Bezos et al. need to keep sucking Chinese dick in order to continue making billions off of their model of slave labor / selling increasing amounts of cheap plastic shit to normie dumbasses in the West.

thundergunexpress 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, in this case some additional context would be helpful to understand what’s going on. We’ll see what else comes out. Either way it doesn’t reflect well on the USPS

Is that even what that was? To me, the clip they played sounded a lot like when someone at my work wants us to do some shady shit (which is often) and is informing us of that without saying it explicitly, so as to maintain some kind of plausible deniability.

In other words, it sounded like the interrogator guy was basically subtly instructing the whistleblower to lie to calm this situation down.

It's not surprising. Nader has principles, which unfortunately are in short supply on both sides of the aisle. The guy has some nutty ideas, but at least his words and deeds are dictated by a consistent moral and ethical compass and aren't just a steaming pile of self-serving bullshit.

I'm proud to say he's the last person I ever cast a vote for...especially because it pisses off all the NPCs who wanted that soulless corporate automaton Gore to win.

Jesus Christ, that lady? My wife (who’s pozzed but w/e) went to college with her and is constantly talking shit to her other friends about how this gal is an obnoxious climber type.

One other underappreciated dynamic here - this broad went to Wellesley, a women’s college with a cult-like level of school spirit and the alma mater of...H. Clinton, who’s like their lesbian harridan goddess talisman. I’m guessing she may be holding a bit of an extra grudge about 2016.

This is a huge part of it. I grew up in a working-class family in a shitty dead-end town and made it out and now work a fancy white-collar job in one of the most far-left cities in the US. You should hear the shit my “very enlightened” colleagues say about non-professional white people. It very quickly shattered any illusions I had that these people hold the beliefs they hold out of any real desire to help the unfortunate. It’s really some combination of 1) hatred for the lower classes; 2) trying to assuage their guilt over their own lofty station in life by completely overcompensating and going full SJW; 3) daddy issues (seriously, so many of them have some stupid beef with their conservative parents and decide to inflict it on the world); and 4) desire to fit in with the herd.

Actually, never mind the hatred they have for working-class white people...you should hear the shit my Very Empathetic colleagues say about black people when they’re in their circle of trust. That’s a whole other issue.

I know I always look to guys whose main life skill is “running past a bunch of foreigners and kicking a ball into a goal” for health advice.

Also, this is the same guy who literally shit his pants in the middle of a World Cup match.

I’m willing to pay for this guy to enjoy a “once-in-a-lifetime” pilgrimage to Mecca to really cement his faith.

Other, better joke I heard from somewhere else: “Will he throw himself off the roof then?”
