My parents and I agree that we're only getting vaccinated once Sputnik comes around and we can chose it. The main argument being that while all the western world powers can clap their hands and make more "citizens" appear out of the middle east and Africa. Putin does not really have that luxury, so if he's gonna use some vaccine that screws over his population he mostly just screws himself over too. My grandmas already got it because one is just waiting to die but in denial and the other is half dead and really still wants to be bedridden and shitting herself for another 10 years ideally. The really selfish people are the old cunts who will die anyway in the next 5-10 years, who made the rest of society take out huge loans, who didn't have enough children to pay for their pensions and to take care of them ALREADY and who force other people's children to take on the loans, so that they can shit and piss for another couple of years of misery. If you are old and unhealthy, please die. Not for me, not for my non-existent children - but for everyone born today. Because not having grandparents is a small price to pay, when the other option is your parents having long term anxiety, dealing with unemployment and growing up in poverty.

I'd recommend the original Gundam from 79 and then Zeta Gundam, because Zeta is my all time favorite Gundam. It made me feel the most that most characters are varying shades of gray, everyone is somehow deeply flawed. We see the characters that were struggling with everything in the first Gundam really hit the wall and take a beating and have to deal with the world they conflict solutions left after the first Gundam. Lastly, I think Amuro & Char are the best thing to come out of Gundam BY FAR. The pinnacle of conflict between at times mortal enemies and at other times almost friendly rivals. Then double Zeta comes in and ruins everything I loved though, fuck double Zeta.

I've had a concept like that in mind for a while now. The Golden Goebbels - the biggest and most successful propagandist(s) of the year would get it. Of course not made out of real gold. But a nice, smiling Goebbels head with a swastika under it. I couldn't come up with a more disgusting and repulsive image to give to them. It also calls them a nazi, anti-semite, propagandist and first and foremost a huge liar. If you have any better ideas for a more humiliating and insulting way of "honoring" these people I'm all ears! It'd be a tough battle between the Democratic Party (since BLM is included in that) and the global news media for the GGs of 2020 IMO.
I don't mean just internet, the EU is clearly trying to reduce their dependence on strategic goods - oil and other energy sources, precious metals, important technology, skilled workers, etc. Internet is one of those things you can definitely do on your own, but where are you gonna get semiconductors for new phones from? Where are you gonna get your precious metals for phones for?
From an economic perspective, Germany and Japan both had the wish for economic independence in WW2 and it lead them both to the same conclusion: If other people won't trade it with you, you just have to take it by force. Economic interdependence is the best bet for peace. Of course you want some industries and sectors to be local (food!) but yea.. I think that reducing interdependence has the potential to lead to more serious conflict and I don't want that
Europe can NEVER successfully pursue strategic autarchy because the continent is too resource poor for modern needs. This can ONLY lead to war! Free and global trade is essential for Europe to be relevant at all. I am all for getting rid of dependency on Silicuck Valley but it's pointless to do it if you only pick worse alternatives.
The Republican party is done for. The only way they could possibly come back is if the Dems fuck up somehow significantly worse than whatever they ever accused Trump of - which won't happen. Big Tech, the financial world, the GLOBAL media, religious institutions and China are all on their side. I can not imagine a single example where that would happen though.

I am going to leave this community because it's stupid. So many people whine and whinge about Reddit being bad, the censorship there - but the second they can go back they go. People are too comfortable and too unwilling to give up their comforts. I am also stupid to be disappointed by it, but I still am. If people aren't willing to leave a website that's been censoring them for years then is there anything they're willing to actually stand up and move their ass for? It takes such minimal effort but people would still rather go back there. People once again had the chance to drop it, they had essentially been given a platform for free and they still don't take it.
Hearts of Iron 4 with the "The New Order" mod specifically. It's about an alternate Cold War, where Germany won WW2. Before you think it's glorifying - no. The mod turns the whole thing into almost a horror-strategy game with most events told along the lines of characters. Sometimes it will be the people themselves (Nixon, Albert Speer, Göring, etc.) and sometimes you will get the experience of what a Nazi Germany (or a country run by Himmler and the SS) would look like for a normal person or someone that's a slave.
I highly enjoy it and parallels to the present are always.. "fun" to notice. The game will quicker hammer down into your mind that you should never give up because no matter how shitty the situation right now is, there are things that must be prevented or there will be always worse consequences and outcomes.
