What constitutes an “honest conversation about race”? We’ve done nothing but discuss racism for decades. We have entire departments in colleges, corporations, and governments that are dedicated to black racial grievances. The “discussion” surrounding racism couldn’t be more ubiquitous and anti-white.
Straight up THIS. The left has used racial animus to tear this country down for like 60+ years at this point. If we are to have this honest conversation on race, what it needs to be is: a long - long - time ago, the country - much like the rest of the world - allowed slavery. In our case it was black people (in the rest of the world, it was whites, blacks, tans, everyone.) In any event, it was wrong, and it was stopped. The problem now is that there is a non-insignificant amount of our black populace that is permitting/celebrating an unbelievably destructive culture. This culture - enabled by the leftists in the government, in media, and in entertainment - is responsible for massive amounts of problems in our society, and it can no longer be tolerated. How are we going to put a stop to it?
That's the HONEST conversation we need to have.

It just seems totally insane that the interpreter would have had this level of access to Ohtani's money to do this. It seems far more likely that he was acting as an intermediary for Ohtani, and now he's taking the fall. At the very, very least, it seems like it was Ohtani trying to help cover the guy's losses, and wiring money to the criminal bookie, which is also illegal.

Everything is the result of controlling the public narrative. If the left wants something to become an issue, the media makes it an issue that is forced into the public discussion. If the left doesn't want something to become an issue, the media doesn't its absolute best to make sure that it flies under the public radar, if at all possible.

It's simply unreal to me how much my (the average American's?) vision of Canada has changed since I was young. When I grew up, I think everyone thought of Canada as this cold, hard place, where there were lots of rough guys wearing flannel, who were lumberjacks and shit. This is the main thing that I wish people - the "normies" - would take from the whole Gemini-won't-draw-white-people fiasco: if they were doing this there - and they got caught this one time - pushing this ultra-woke, ultra-radical-leftist agenda there... doesn't it stand to reason that maybe it's pervasive, and they are doing it elsewhere? Seriously - the average person has absolutely zero idea how hard the leftist activists have been at work on the internet. They assume that stuff like Wikipedia is honest/unbiased. They assume that their search results from Google are honest/unbiased. They assume that if they go to a "fact checking" site like snopes, or politifact, that they are getting an honest answer. They assume that, if they use gmail, Google would never treat election emails from Republican candidates differently than they would those from Democrat candidates, and send them to the junk mail folder. They assume that all the social media sites are banning people simply for being "ardent Nazis!", and not just because they weren't perfectly toeing the leftist line. And on, and on, and on...
The problem is that the left does do all those things. The problem is that the companies that are absolutely infested with radical leftist indoctrinates that would churn out an AI that openly discriminates against white people, aren't just working on AI's that openly discriminate against white people; they pour the same ideology into everything they do. Them getting caught the other times just isn't being reported on like it is this particular time.
The average person is just too stupid, or too disinterested to realize it's going on, and thus they open themselves up to the indoctrination campaign the left has been engaged in. On top of that, you then have the media - a media which is every bit as ideologically compromised, and captured - actively seeking to hide this stuff from those disinterested public masses, and protect their politically aligned friends.
And anyone that tries to oppose them is going to have government agencies like the FBI, like the IRS used against them. They will be attacked, they will be delcared as being "domestic terrorists", they will have their finances seized, etc.

This has nothing to do with "neutering everything they find." What is neutered about this? It's going to be an incredibly powerful tool, just not in the way that the average person would hope. They are setting all this up exactly how they have set everything else up they get their hands on: as another means for them to set/control the narrative -> indoctrinate people.

If they weren't, and they did their job - and served the role a democracy require them to serve - they would be investigating the bias, they would be investigating this asshole, and showing the public what sort of a racist he is, they would be making the public question how he got like this, etc. After that, they would then ask themselves, "You know, if they are doing this here, I wonder where else they might be pushing an agenda? Would they do this in the search results they serve up? Would they do this in the videos they promote/suppress on YouTube?" If the media did its job, the public would see all this, be - rightfully - upset, and things would have a chance of changing.
