In other news, duh. It's mostly men who are into extreme metal. Therefore, extreme metal guitarists mostly play to impress their male audience. Not everything is about sex.
The psychiatrist, Thomas Szasz, wrote a book called The Myth of Mental Illness, which is about this specific topic.
He also talked about how contributing factors in a patient's life would be ignored by medical professionals in favor of wholly pharmaceutical treatment. For example, someone with depression may work for a terrible, draining job.
Mahatma Gandhi on black people: "the raw kaffir whose occupation is hunting, and whose sole ambition is to collect a certain number of cattle to buy a wife with, and then, pass his life in indolence and nakedness.”
Fingers crossed. The shitstorm would be beautiful.
I think that you're right about both of those points, but there's one more component. It's to make you deny reality itself. If a totalitarian government can convince you that "man" and "woman don't exist, they can convince you of anything.
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” -George Orwell
Sleepaway Camp is very relevant to current transgender issues.
It's because they don't have moral principles. Their sole aim is power and they will take any and every position that they can to obtain that power.
Solzhenitsyn puts it quite well:
It was granted me to carry away from my prison years on my bent back, which nearly broke beneath its load, this essential experience: how a human being becomes evil and how good. In the intoxication of youthful successes I had felt myself to be infallible, and I was therefore cruel. In the surfeit of power I was a murderer, and an oppressor. In my most evil moments I was convinced that I was doing good, and I was well supplied with systematic arguments. And it was only when I lay there on rotting prison straw that I sensed within myself the first stirrings of good. Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either—but right through every human heart—and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained. And even in the best of all hearts, there remains … an unuprooted small corner of evil.
Let's be honest; this is probably the highest level of education that they'll ever receive.
I give this clown level four honks.
Iirc, there are different strains of HPV. The ones that cause warts are not the same as the ones that cause cancer. The cancer-causing ones can cause: cervical, vulvar, penile, or anal cancer.
It's like that puzzle where you need to transport a fox, a chicken, and some grain from one island to another and your boat is only big enough to bring one at a time.
Everyone I know who has gotten sick from COVID (substantially symptomatic) more than once was vaccinated.
Meanwhile, I declined all shots and got COVID last November. I was sick for about a week with a flu/bronchitis level illness. Five months after I recovered, both my parents got COVID. I stayed with them while they had it, with zero distancing. After a week of this, I got a headache and some fatigue that lasted for half a day. That was it. Natural immunity is far superior to the shot.
This is why there is such an overlap between autism and transgenderism. This is classic black-and-white autistic thinking. Either you must be a totally emotionally-repressed automaton or you must be an overly emotional, impulsive, useless mess. There's no in between in their minds.
The truth of the matter is, masculinity does sometimes require you to set aside your emotions. Because if you don't in a crisis, you're a useless, panicky, weepy mess. You need to do whatever hard or dangerous thing needs to be done to survive. Who else is going to? That's the burden and the privilege of being a man. Yes it is hard, and we don't always act in the way that we should; but it is rewarding and meaningful.
That doesn't mean that there is no room for emotions, though. Life should be embraced with passion and zeal. And we should reflect on our lives: past, present, and future. Artists have historically helped us to do so, helping to process the complex emotions that come with human existence. Sadly, many artists have become mouthpieces for destructive, valueless ideologies and are not acting in accordance with their potential.
Ultimately, moderation is important in almost all things. Emotions are important, but must be kept under control.
He also claimed that the whole trilogy was already written and just needed to be edited, which was clearly not true.
Also, Rothfuss' editor says that she believes that he hasn't written anything for over five years.
It reminds me of Patrick Rothfuss. He's been pulling the same crap with his Kingkiller Chronicle series. It's been over ten years since the last installment of the main series, too. Anyone who asks him about the status of the third book is promptly shut down.
I'm starting to see these fantasy authors who sell their books with promise of a grand, epic series, only the stop midway through, as borderline scam artists. No one would have bought the first installments if they had known that the author would refuse to finish.
What about the other genders? This is quite a bigoted statement from Tim Cook that stinks of cisnormoativity and gender binary.
Newpipe is a good open-source, adblocking Youtube app for Android. It's available on the FDroid appstore.
Okay, this is officially the weirdest game of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon that I've ever played.
Now that I've gotten that joke out of the way, I'm seeing a lot of parallels between this case and Jeffrey Dahmer, as well as that cannibalism case in Germany in the early 2000s.
I just did an internet search of the term. Apparently Departments of Aging are a thing; they're just state-level, not federal level.
I got one from the CDC, doing an anonymous survery to gather statistics about vaccination status. I just said that I was busy and I don't really do surveys.
Charles Manson arc when?
I agree. Felissa is lovely. I met her at a con, too.
Halloween is a bit of weird franchise. The continuity is all over the place. There's several different timelines of movies.
This is more on the manga side of SF and Fantasy, but Hiromu Arakawa is the woman who wrote Fullmetal Alchemist, and her work is fantastic.
