It's an older symbol for Raëlism, a generally harmless, if kooky, UFO cult/religion that popped up in the 70s.
And we're bringing the 1920s (Weimar) back. It's all going full circle.
They're bringing the 20s back!
Coco was actually a good movie about family and honoring your roots. The final confrontation with the villain was a little cliché, but that's my only complaint about it.
Using old.reddit.com still lets you avoid the redesign and those annoying "try our app" popups.
This is purely anecdotal, but most of the vehemently pro-life people that I have known, were women.
Anime fandom is a common gateway into trans/rainbow grooming btw.
So is videogames. When I play TF2, I can almost guarantee that I'll be playing with someone with a name that references being trans. Not to mention, pedo-central, Discord, started as a videogame chat app.
Of course both of these hobbies pale in comparison to the grooming happening in schools and on social media. I don't think that it's fair to go around blaming hobbies, especially when transgender characters are virtually absent from anime and manga, outside of porn.
Most rockstars are perpetual teenagers. Few of them make anything that shows maturity past their mid twenties. And I say this as a lover of rock n roll.
The Golden Age of Hollywood was full of stories of heroism and self-sacrifice. Those themes are universal across cultures, per Joseph Campbell's research on the monomyth/hero's journey. The MCU up through Phase 3, was probably the last mainstream, contemporary example of this. Now, heroes act more like villains in hero's clothing. They're self-absorbed, petty, and arrogant. We're expected to see those as positive traits because the characters belong to the right identity groups.
Next you're going to tell me that the covid shots aren't safe and effective!
She treats them with the same callousness as the African tribes that sold other Africans into slavery.
I don't see the comparison. The USA is a transplanted European culture that took root in North America. Those tourists really do have Irish or Scottish ancestry. Americans didn't just pop into existence, out of nowhere, in North America. Three hundred years ago, or often less, their ancestors really were in those lands and their descendants really do have (distant) relatives there.
That's quite different from baselessly claiming that your ancestors were the real inhabitants, and the current ones are just pretenders.
Except, most black Americans weren't from those groups; they were the ones conquered by those groups. That's how their ancestors ended up enslaved in the first place.
And even when you are descended from a valiant warrior culture, the glory of that loses it's edge when said group was still living in tribal villages while the rest of the world was seeing great civilizations rise and fall.
It must suck to have no great past that you can look to for inspiration. I can't imagine having to steal the heritage of others.
The right to sexually mutilate and rape children.
LOL at thinking that boomers don't trust institutions. Have you ever actually met a boomer in your life? The vast majority of boomers trust doctors and believe what they see on the television news, whether they prefer Fox or CNN.
The only reason why the boomers turned against America in the Vietnam War was because the mainstream media did.
This wasn’t the norm pre columbine and was still pretty rare after it for a while.
Yes and no. It wasn't the norm in schools, but shootings by disgruntled postal workers were a thing, giving rise to the term "going postal."
She's from a group that historically didn't use "plus" signs in mathematics, because they look like crosses. She's from a group whose illiterate ancestors signed forms with at Ellis Island with a circle, instead of with the customary x, because an x was too close to a cross.
It's no wonder that any reference to Christ makes her recoil like a vampire with a cross.
If you're not doing anything shameful, why are you ashamed?
I'm not necessarily opposed to nudity in film, depending on the context. But if it was something with true, artistic value, she wouldn't be up-in-arms about it. When you make something public, it's that, public.
I enjoy some of the darker takes on Batman, but I agree that The Animated Series is the definitive take on the character.
Just tried it from a US server. Kiwifarms is loading up fine.
Anyone know if he was vaccinated?
It looks like he lost out on a role in the Broadway show, because he wasn't vaccinated. Though he could have always changed his mind later.
Most regular books are much more reasonably priced than most textbooks, as well.
Hellsing, Spice and Wolf, Trinity Blood, Attack on Titan, Gunslinger Girl, and Baccano all have majority white casts, but they're a drop in the bucket compared to Japanese-majority anime.
Did you know that Jesus drove a Honda, but he didn't like to talk about it?
