Nationalizing the housing market will work, because the government will no longer be able to point fingers at the private sector. Any problems will be clearly and obviously the governments fault, so they will be forced to get off their asses and fix them.

I think this is because our community is just a constant stream of events. Reddit encourages this with threads that stay on the front for a short time and then fade away.
What we need to do is take these events and refine and process them. First they should be sorted and categorized. Then we should compute statistics. Finally the statistics and well-chosen examples should be used to create a well-supported narrative that can be easily presented to friends and family.
Personally I think that a wiki is the perfect tool for a community to collaborate like this. So that would be my suggestion. We should create a wiki. The wiki should be modded by someone trusted in our community like DoM or AoV (who might delegate to other people) to ensure it's a place for us to build our world view, and isn't griefed or edited by our enemies.
This wiki would contain all significant events that we discuss here, but would also have articles about trends and phenomena, and maybe the final distillation would be a single shareable page "how the world works for dummies", that would summarize and link to the trends which would in turn link to the different events.
They may have thought it worth doing despite knowing they will get banned sooner or later. Like if it works for a while, it.... works for a while. Which may be better than nothing.

A lot of people work in a reactive way. They literally cannot foresee issues. And even when someone points it out they just brush it off. As sad as that is, the silver lining is that now that this has been recognized as an ongoing issue, the reactive-minded people will come out of the woodworks. So there really might be a better chance of solving it in the future than in the past 4 years.

It's certainly suspicious, but that's not illegal by itself. Keeping him away form positions of power over children seems prudent, but saying that no one should hire him because of mere suspicious is too much.
