Lucky you, the Dynasty Warrior series has a whole genre named for that style! Look up the term "musou" to see other games with that gameplay. Off the top of my head you've got Samurai Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, and Warriors All Stars. Enjoy!
I think you'd like the movie Patema Inverted. Hardly discussed but it's gone over extremely well with everyone I've shown it to. It's a wild movie about two factions living on a planet with gravity affecting them in opposite ways. If you're not careful you could fly right off into the sky.
I'm finishing up Yakitate Japan right now and it's a much watch. All the good stuff in Food Wars with none of the bad.
If you start Kaiji you will be hooked until you see how each game ends. I can't believe how many episodes I watched about playing a pachinko machine.
Gurren is mandatory viewing. No excuses.
I'm excited for Rain Code since I enjoyed the team's Danganronpa series. Armored Core is probably going to be incredible. My boss has been waiting for Pikmin 4 for ages and I'm pretty excited for that too. I'm skeptical on Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, but man does it look like it's oozing in style that we hardly see anymore.
Need to amend my comment because I should mention to skip the final season of Samurai Jack, at least for now. It came out many years later and aired on Adult Swim because it has more 'mature content' like actually bloody fights, language, and more.
Personally I didn't like the tone shift so I consider it separate from the original seasons.
Holy cow this man has good tastes. You had me at remembering that Girls Last Tour exists. I was the only one at a convention that bought art for it and the vendor was so relieved someone finally knew what it was. (And this was the year it came out!)
I'd love to have achievements on Switch games. I tend to try out more games than I would otherwise and see everything there is if I really like it. Good achievement sets can guide to you to fun easter eggs or try playing a favorite game a different way.
That being said if you are interested in older systems check out RetroAchievements. I'm having a blast playing Nintendo 64 games right now with achievements. If new games have got you down I can guarantee there's some retro treasures just waiting for you to find.
Check out the RetroAchievements website. Challenges for all of your favorite older titles and there's events you can do as well to find new favorites which earn you badges.
For example, this month's Game of the Month to beat was Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime and it was an absolute blast.
