I used to watch Splatty's stuff, but unsubbed during Covid, when he caught The Fear (tm), when, like a lot of content creators, he realized that shit is getting real and the YouTube crap is the only way he can earn a living. That's when his videos started getting less easygoing and more desperate. In stead of him going around just doing random fun things it got more like him just standing still, without even moving the cursor, for whole minutes, just explaining basic game mechanics and saying shit like "killing enemies gives you XP" or "if you click on the ground your character will move there." This is all the more hilarious since Splatty has always been notorious for skipping tutorials and learning the game by making dumb mistakes, and yet his videos turned more into beginner guides than fun gameplay footage montages. I don't know if he's still like that or if he snapped out of it.

After building the series on the Christiano-Judeic myths of the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail, they are shifting to the oh-so-tiresome trope of "all religions are correct," because this all means that the Vatican, or Notre Dame de Paris are of equal religious, mystical consequence as Stonehenge or some random tomb or mausoleum, like the pyramids of Giza.

Back in the day, I made several attempts to play through the Legacy of Kain series. The first one (Blood Omen) was fine, but I could never even finish the first Soul Reaver. To this day I'm still feeling an addictive craving to play them. I fucking hate the combat and the platforming - the only thing that draws me to this five-game series is finding out the full story of Kain and Raziel. The sole reason for the cult status of this series is the story, and this story was (by and large) put together by Amy Hennig, formerly of Naughty Dog, where she continued to make highly successful games that were more movie than games.
