Lol, kinda fucked up (but unfortunately not surprising) that most people seem more upset that they're trying to make anyone other than white people an "oppressor" rather than realizing the criteria for who is oppressed or not is complete politically motivated bullshit.

And of course the main thing making them an "oppressor" class is racism, specifically against black people. You would think general racism would be enough, but apparently it's worse when you do it to black people. I also like how in the "how are they oppressed" section, they make sure to frame it so the only ones doing any potential oppressing are white people.

Some others included in the nominations are essential workers, Late-night host Trevor Noah, Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell and tennis star Naomi Osaka to name a few.

The only one that even comes close to meeting the criteria of "the person or group of people who had the greatest influence on events in 2020 – whether for better or worse" would be essential workers, and that would basically be like thanking the ground for not crumbling beneath your feet. What I mean by that is if you decide the person of the year is the millions of people who essentially allow society to function, how can you consider any other single person to be a person of the year after that? Will any singular person have the same affect as the hundreds of thousands of delivery drivers that ensured millions of people would still have access to the food and goods they need to live? That any one person can compare to the millions of cashiers that allowed people to still buy things?

Yes it says it can be "for worse", but do you really think they would have Time's person of the year be a woman and have it be for negative reasons? Honestly I think her inclusion (and Trevor Noah's to a lesser extent) is just to drum up controversy and get attention.

''Who denounced you?" asked Winston. ''It was my little daughter," said Parsons with a sort of doleful pride. ''She listened at the keyhole. Heard what I was saying, and nipped off to the patrols. Pretty smart for a nipper of seven, eh? I don't bear her any grudge for it. In fact, I'm proud of her. It shows I brought her up in the right spirit, anyway."

Not quite there yet, but it's the goal.

Yeah, the "anyone who disagrees with me is just a bot" is a weirdly childish insult I've been seeing recently. It kinda makes sense once you realize most normies probably dont know what a bot actually is, but are just getting their understanding from the media talking about "Russian bots" and assuming it's someone posting something purposefully false.

I assume the twisted logic would be something like "the left/"liberal" side is the the champion of minorities, which includes natives, so anything against natives is against the left, context be damned, and anything against the left is far-right."

They know that's still a step too far, and I imagine some of it is because they know that's something straight men might like rather than just women and gays. It's at the stage where they encourage the behavior in the girls while condemn men for responding, while with boys the behavior is encouraged and the other party is ignored or celebrated for responding.

It would help if the gameplay is actually fun or engaging. Easy example is TLoU2. Gameplay is basic gun mechanics and combat that's been seen in hundreds of games to that point. Everything it does that is an improvement over the previous installment has been done better in other games, but that's not as important (or it shouldn't be) since it's story based, and many people treat the gameplay as simply something you do to get to the next story scene. Unfortunately, when the story isn't good or engaging enough, you are left with the mediocre gameplay. And if you are already disappointed or upset about the story not being what you expected or wanted, you probably aren't going to be in a charitable mood towards the gameplay.

Comparing it to Spider-Man on the PS4, that has a similar, linear storyline, but with a much greater emphasis on the gameplay. If you don't like the story you can do a variety of side missions or just swing around the city. With a game like TLoU2, the gameplay and story are linked such that you cannot play the game without experiencing the story.

We're going to know more about the Trump family's personal life than a Biden administration's actual policy and actions.

Yup, they'll just pretend it doesn't exist, and anything they cant avoid talking about will be framed as unfortunately necessary self defense against people who would have deserved it anyway.

Ugh, reminds me if Amazon's the Aeronauts, where they took the true story of a scientist and his friend/assistant (who saved him after they went too high and pass out) studying weather and the atmosphere in balloons, and replaced the friend with a fictional woman (and an Indian man to a lesser extent), so they could have stupid "rah girl power" moments and a romance subplot (despite the real life scientist having been married before the events). Its just so irritating they chose to erase a real heroic event of two male friends so they could insert some pathetic fake representation or empowerment, and some cliche romance because apparently that's the only way to make women care about history.

How privileged is your life that you can actually believe a government will stop there and relinquish power once it is no longer "necessary"?

Just reminds me of that groupie chick that got pissed about Aziz Ansari treating her like a groupie.

"Ableist".

"Disfigured " is quite possibly the most neutral way of conveying the concept without directly describing what's wrong or using ridiculous euphemisms that would barely tell you anything.

Over/under 5 years until we have someone complaining that a character's disability, whatever it may be, is mentioned at all?

Unfortunately it seems like most immigrants nowadays aren't particularly interested in a new life, as much as keeping everything from their old lifestyle but with more money/welfare.

I dont know what's worse, the amount of people who think this is funny and a great gotcha, or the people pretending they totally, instantly recognized who the war criminal was. They probably wouldn't be able to point out Vietnam on a map.

It's embarrassing to admit, but even if I don't really know about the people I'll still vote for one. Sometimes it's just who has a better sounding name.

If Nintendo is smart, they could also use this to get some serious leverage for a competitor to the PS5.

Unfortunately Nintendo doesn't seem too quick on these sorts of thing. I honestly don't expect them to come out with a new console/system for another 5 years at least.

Honestly, that's my biggest concern for a Biden(Harris) presidency, how much it's going to weaken America on the global stage. Nobody will take them seriously.

It's either that or they're too poor to afford the ~20-50 dollars every five to ten years for the identification required for

-driving

-buying cigarettes

-buying lighters (some places)

-buying alcohol

-buying R-rated movie tickets

-signing up for welfare programs

-buying a house

-buying a car

-getting prescription drugs

-insurance

-traveling by plane

and much more.
