Leftist “hahahaha i claimed a barely known war criminal was my grandfather and asked you privately to honor him on a day dedicated to remembering those who serve. Your such an idiot and clearly I’m a genius who’s a better person than you!”

Christ these people are pathetic.

He's a REPORTER. This is what reporters do, it's called reporting.

If Joseph Pulitzer were alive today he'd totally use a sacred holiday for celebrating the heroes who protected our freedom to trick a cabinet minister into thanking a little-known war criminal.

It's called "journalism", GOOGLE IT

You realize this makes you a genuinely bad person, right @kenklippenstein? Contemptible behavior, in a normal society this stunt would render you unemployable

At least someone liked it, Ana Kasparian found it "amazing": https://archive.vn/wip/p2byc

From a Twitter rando:

Amazing. Now do the Armenian Genocide is a hoax prank.

Has there ever been a woman who embodies the term "harpy" as much as Ana? She's a vile creature.

Duped. Trying to be helpful to people who reach out on Veteran’s Day. It’s a shame people would do this on a day like today. DC is a sick city. @kenklippenstein

This type of prank would've been a funny joke if it was by some rando, then you could say it was dark humor done for the lulz. This being done by a Journalist, with a blue checkmark? You know for a fact they're legitimately angry and wanted to make a point.

If he was a rando Grenell probably would have Google'd the guy's name. He probably figured a blue check reporter wouldn't pull a stunt like that & took him at his word.

I dont know what's worse, the amount of people who think this is funny and a great gotcha, or the people pretending they totally, instantly recognized who the war criminal was. They probably wouldn't be able to point out Vietnam on a map.

Ooooo. Recognized it as soon as I saw the picture.

While this is one of the most serious war criminals in recent American history (and his Brigade commanders who must have known were never charged), I wouldn't say that people should recognize the name off the top of their head. I've met people in the military who've never heard of the My Lai massacre. I'm a history buff, and I looked into the Vietnam War for a long time.

The Warrant Officer, and helicopter pilot, Hugh Thompson, (and his surviving crew) whom stopped the killing gives lectures on ethics & leadership at most of the Officer Schools to this day as an honored guest.
