Colonizing or sanitizing Japanese entertainment culture is okay when left-wing weebs do it. Trying to preserve the author/artist's intent is now right-wing?

Hmmm... preservation... conservation... Actually that logic does sort of make sense in a twisted, short-circuited way. Because honestly there's a lot of them that don't seem to care when things get localized to Western standards.

I too thought that it was something that could go away, but when Social Justice Warriors started popping up everywhere before even Trump was elected it was certainly going to be a long-term growing issue. What wasn't foreseen was the speed at which everything ramped up. There's wide lines in the sand on major issues, and we're up against what amounts to a genocide cult, but I'm trying to avoid making more and more lines which could end in little cohesion among our own groups

So are we sliding back to that knuckle-dragging mentality where if someone isn't actively helping our cause they must absolutely be evil and part of the problem? Not a single person just doesn't want to get dragged through the mud?

Because I thought we evolved away from that "us vs. them" behavior of low intelligence animals

we all liked it because it was CUTE

I'd say that this applies in the general sense of any mahou shoujo series. Cuteness is what drives the appeal, such that it's a core aspect of the genre (hell, sometimes even I'm drawn to the girls if they're done right). Western creators really can't seem to, or don't want to, grasp that crucial piece to what makes it successful.

It'll be interesting to see if AI takes away from having to hire people to interact with an audience. It can eliminate liability from any psychological consequences the performers suffer.

I know it didn't have much to do with the initial topic, I was just making a separate point on this because I have a hobby in anime/manga artspaces. Vtubers are everywhere there and it gets shoved in my face all the time. I can't tell how many times I see decent artists waste their talents simping for these actors.

I'm simply annoyed every time something with these groups becomes a big deal when it's just things that always happen, whether it be Coco getting kicked out of Hololive CN (government pressure to censor, oh noes!!), Pikame getting bullied off the Internet (Cyberbullying?!), Nijisanji being mismanaged (any online grift since the first Dotcom bubble).

I know people are fascinated by this stuff and I wouldn't personally get into it myself, but I'm kind of forced to know about it... Yeah Nijisanji will probably one of those bad companies that doesn't implode entirely, but limps along

Parasocial relationship was my go-to word since it's actually been identified as an issue in this terminally online era.

"Idol culture" is probably a better term for it. Combines the parasocial aspect with the flamewars.

Another FtM tranny shooter?

It's going to get more and more difficult to bury these incidents. The FBI won't be able to continue its anti-White "domestic terrorists all single males" narrative up for long.

VTubing became a joke when it naturally went beyond being a humorous novelty and a tech advancement of streaming live motion capture against a body. By digging into the livestreamer space, it became another means to siphon money from simps and attention seekers, replete with all the flame wars, parasocial relationship poison (almost any Vtuber group), grasping at fetishes (Hololive) and thoting/camwhoring (VShojo). The excuses of likening these tubers to anime characters doesn't change my opinion of it either. There are still live actors behind the virtual masks, regardless if they're squatting in a chair.

I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone involved in this shit, excluding progenitors like Kizuna Ai, who got put through the wringer when the Vtuber spice started to flow

people looking at down-stream results and refusing to acknowledge the source of the problem

Humans do this a lot, sadly, either intentionally through weakness, or by accident. Maybe it's due to lack of promoting critical thinking in upbringing, or just the mind reaching for the id and superego first, ego second.

Too much energy and focus is spent on the "what", "where", and "when"; not the "how"s and subsequent "why"s

I'm splitting hairs here, but I usually think of the definition in relation to legal adulthood, which for some important rights and laws is 18 years of age. Technically 19yos are teenagers, but I refer to them as adults.

We live in an time where kiddie-diddlers can be set free if they're trannies but you can be accused of being a pedo and have your life destroyed without consequence or context.

The issue here is not the laws, but the judges you're dealing with. The law usually lists severe sentencing for even a single assault charge, but that doesn't preclude judges from modifying the sentences themselves. Those who want to tear at society already know this, which is why those who truly want to "enact change" go into the legal field. Judges and state/district attorneys control sentencings and charges respectively, while facing no physical repercussions for it. A judge could let several serial killers off easy and not be disbarred for it. We need consequences for abuse of the justice system, not new laws.

FCD has been on .win for at least two years and has posted here many a times with only occasional backlash. It's just a bad take where FCD is accusing Kaarous of being a keyboard warrior.

I pushed back because I vaguely recall that he got hit with only a fine as all of models were legal except for one (she was 15 or something?) or a few, which can be excused with an "oops, assumed they were all legal". I only just looked up again his result was but didn't dive into the details.

I don't have all the court case info either, but I see Western weeb media still going with the "naked teens" wordage. To my understanding, teens are between 13 and 18 (some say its 10-19, but eh...), where at least 16 is legal in Japan. So semantically, leftist weeb journalists can label him "convicted pedo" without any context, and drive-by readers end up making false assumptions if they don't dig into the story.

Personally, I'm really not into flat-chested (or less endowed) women, but if they're of age and some guy likes it, I can't screech "pedo".

Citizens of other nations are not under your jurisdiction unless maybe if they have physical presence in your country. Any legal threats outside of the caveat are empty.

Watsuki was fined 200,000¥ (barely more than 1300$ now) for possession of CP. If Japanese law actually functions that way, they have their own set of issues. If not, then I question what he actually was in possession of.

Edit since you made one:

actual pedophile ... convicted in court

Actual pedophiles that get convicted in court in first world societies get jailtime, or execution in some cases. Watsuki got a slap on the wrist for something that is supposedly a serious offense. The Japanese must have different definitions of CP than we do.

This falls in line with them trying to bankrupt gun manufacturers. They can't legally take our rights to firearms away, but they will try every means possible to dissuade, get in the way of owning one, or open the ability strip your rights through unconstitutional means without hard evidence. This includes blaming others who were indirect influences, family members and the like.

It's shared blame, a core tenet of collectivism.

My apologies but the thing on the right, with baby-proportioned head, three arms (look closely), white-to-brown skin color blending down the photo length, misplaced knees and freakshow feet... Is just as freaky as the abnormally large calves and feet of the thing on the left.

The AI needs a lot of work.
