Ah yes, Silk. Another character created by Dan Slott, who was retconned in as having been bitten by the same spider as Peter, who has better powers than Peter since she not only still has her organic web shooters but can use them to create her costume as needed in multiple colours, and as of the recent Spider-Verse comic, written by Slott ofc, turns out to be more important than Peter.
Speaking of that comic, Slott used it to retcon in yet another new character, Spider-Boy.
A reminder that Chloe Bennett from Agents of SHIELD is Asian. The show being touted as having "two leading female Asian characters" made me wonder who the second was alongside Ming-Na because apart from Chun-Li/Mulan none of the other actors, male or female, we're the obvious candidate for the second.
I remember when getting into Payday 2 that the general design of the game would have been perfect for a Stargate reskin.
Multiple orders/factions of Jaffa to account for harder mobs: normal Apophis Jaffa, Sokar Jaffa, Kul Warriors as Dozers.
Archeology digs as an alternative time sink to hacking/drilling, and even then retrieving some Ancient, Asgardian, or whatever piece of tech would still work perfectly.
Multiple weapons, including the possibility of energy weapons and ranged weapons with melee attacks since a Jaffa staff weapon is still a staff.
And then nothing actually happened with Payday 2. It just kept releasing the bare minimum in terms of DLC but charging a premium. Guns, mods, clothes, sometimes even a mission! 😮
So much time and money grabbing I'm kind of glad now a franchise reskin didn't happen because it would have been a dancing skin suit at best.
Still, it could be used as a working concept for such a thing in the future.
That's kind of how I remember it.
The story brings in a new super powerful group of bad guys who immediately kill off both the Captain Commander and his lieutenant to let the readers know just how powerful said new group is.
They then utterly wreck multiple other characters and it's revealed they can steal Bankai, hence the earlier mentioned lieutenant dying to his own.
But then all the surviving characters, and even some who were thought to be dead, get a quick power up and starting winning again.
I know, I know, this is how Shonen always works and Naruto, Dbz, and countless others all follow the same power creep 🙄
More named characters die, brand new super powerful allies in the form of the elite guard are brought in and most of them end up being fucking useless in actual combat and are simply the Deus Ex Machina to buff the main characters, several of them get the shit beaten out of them, a few more characters die, some things happen that could almost be considers fan service, then the final fight happens and Bleach just ends.
It's fucking abrupt how quickly everything resolves which is something Bleach has done before when Ichigo finally fought Aizen and beat him with one move.
I don't expect the anime to have anywhere near as bad an ending or reception as Attack on Titan did, that suffered from actual story issues, but I'm not expecting the ending to be as well received after all these years of hype building up to levels the writers can't deliver on.
Edit: and we never see what Shuhei Hisagi's Bankai actually is!
Those are going to be the same problems anyone with a tropomyosin allergy has which is currently more commonly experienced by those eating shellfish since tropomyosin is conserved across arthropods. Doesn't stop people trying now, won't stop people trying then when it starts happening from entomophagy instead.
Inb4 "Slightly Punctuated" where everything is shouted thereby requiring the use of exclamation points.
