They're seeking better lives. Not in improving themselves though, oh no. They're seeking better lives in the same sense a British noble seeks better foxes. It's no fun to abuse the worse ones, they gotta seek better ones to hunt.

It is a balancing act.

That specific faction doesn't want the peaceful/high-IQ gone, they just want them cowed, subjugated, and effectively a slave caste and managerial caste all in one, kept meek and afraid by violent and savage monsters all around, which that faction can sell "protection" from, while simultaneously funding more and more of the savagery.

They don't want to rule a wasteland, they want to rule a medieval barony, literal robber barons, "protecting" their few valuable serfs from the barbarian hordes. And to make that world a reality, they work towards making the barbarian hordes, and making the serf caste.

Too many barbarians, and they die too. They don't want that. They're evil monsters, but they're not so stupid as to directly desire their own destruction. But too few barbarians, and those serfs might become merchant princes, might create a rival power structure, might grow and threaten the Eternal Rulership.

You can see this pretty cleanly in areas with accelerated or further-down-the-line "progress" in wokeanda-ism, like many south African countries, where they want killing white people for sport to be legal, but ALSO want white people to run their farms and businesses because the moment the white people are all killed off for fun, the entire country collapses until they beg and plead for white people to come back and promise for realsies this time they won't kill them again. Which happened twice down there.

You know what? I'll agree with the core premise: There shouldn't be biological gender options. Or any gender options at all, for that matter. You're telling a story, that story has a main character, and being able to alter significant elements of the main character will alter how that story is perceived (see how, despite the exact same dialogues and stats, people view the female and male Star Rail protags as having vastly different personalities, or the same with the Fire Emblem protags).

Tell the story you intend to tell, don't be cowed into making a selector or a slider. If it's the story of a boy's coming-of-age hero journey, make it so. If it's the story of a girl's coming-of-age heroine's experience, make it so.

Middle-class is tricky as a concept, because it is defined, more or less, as "not". Middle class is not upper, nor lower class. Those two have definitions, it does not. It is simply the remainder, defined as what's left, between the top of the lower class, and the bottom of the upper class.

A lower class person doesn't own their own home. A truism since the feudal era: Barons owned the land, and you effectively rented it, worked on it for taxes and payments. Now, an upper class person is that Baron. They own lots of land, or are suzerain to a particularly valuable plot like a river gate fortress.

The middle class, then... Own something tiny. One bit of land, not many. And not particularly valuable.

Just an example scenario.

Middle Class has always been a nebulous question, because they simply occupy the space between upper lower class, and lower upper class. To someone of lower-lower class, owning ANY house is upper class. The kulaks can vouch for that one! To someone of upper class, they'd pity the person who owns, but also lives in, a singular teensy semi-detached in the middle of nowhere with less square footage than their cottage. Clearly lower-class.

The conceptual space of "owning enough to be not only safe, but comfortable... But simultaneously not owning enough to be opulent or fully secure" certainly still exists. The middle class certainly still exists. But there's an active effort to remove it. The gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots" has increased exponentially of late, and that exponential growth means the gap just keeps getting bigger. I'm no commie, I don't think such a gap is fundamentally unlawful, but it would be better, in my opinion, if both sides were growing just one at a slower rate, rather than one stagnating or even contracting, while the other grows exponentially.

Meanwhile, there's stories of sane guys treading water for 2 days. Notably, a difficult act to do whilst raping. But I guess rapefugees make their choice, while sane people make the other one.

Honestly, might make a good litmus test for entrance to civilized society, with some adjustments. "You're on a sinking ship, what do you do?" And just shoot everyone who answers with "rapin' time!", send back almost all the rest, and give more consideration to the ones who try to break off a door to use as a floatation device and give it to others.

And then you can go on to School Live!, while we're thinking of girl-appropriate, age-appropriate shows! It also has a cute cover image featuring a younger female lead, it must be child appropriate!

A person can have one opinion you agree with, and another opinion you don't agree with. This is a tricky lesson for Leftists and three-year-olds, but the latter group often learns it with only a couple examples, so we're almost there.

So... Is this the equivalent of the girlfriend who pulls a knife on you if you wear a fancier than usual suit to work? What happens if they, like, shower? The beard-braids are gonna get undone. Is part of their 200-year marriage vows to never even change the number of braids in their beard-braid as it grows?

Like, all else aside, it just seems dumb to use marriage tattoos on something so changeable. They're bakers! What if it catches fire, or some tears out from industrial machinery?

EDIT: Also, clearly a straight couple. The dwarf on the right is clearly female, you can tell by the lack of beard jewelery, which is reserved for adult male dwarves. Darn humans can't even tell male and female dwarves apart, just because they both have hair!

As an aside, 3rd edition was the last good edition, too. In 5th, nothing is balanced, nothing is calculated, the DMG literally has for loot and treasure tables "eh, fuck it, just go by feeling, we ain't helping you do shit-all here" and then drops single use low-level health potions on the same example random treasure table as "ignore all damage reduction and resistances" magical swords.

I actively dislike games that feature "relatable" me. I already relate to myself, I can "relate" to myself for free at any given moment. I want to experience the story of someone very much not myself.

And I am hardly alone there. The most popular characters in Starcraft 2 by mass community poll were Abathur, Alarak, and Alexei. A sociopathic bug, a religious zealot space-elf, and a depressed Russian zombie. The "relatable" characters couldn't even break top-8. People loved their very alien (pun intended) perspectives and worldviews, they didn't give a shit about Raynor and Kerrigan's little love story hiccups and "human" concerns. It's sci-fi, they wanted sci-fi concerns.

Problem is, these aphantasia types are loud, and insist on being part of the creation process even for things they'd never buy. "No character has a hangnail on their fourth toe of their right foot, I just can't identify with their experiences!"

Those who are prone to furry-ism either have a proper, deep sense of shame over it, in which case they hide their power level, or else they're more flamboyant than the head batontwirler at a gay pride parade.

Those who hide their power level, who conceal their "psychic stench" as you put it, aren't going out and making symbols of furry-dom in mass media. They get artists through college by buying ill-advised furry art, and that's usually about it. It's the ones who DO broadcast themselves, that also make the major marketing content. Of course, that overt crowd is ALSO the type of crowd to get obsessed with pronouns, DEI, BRIDGE, sexual open promiscuity, etc etc. Which as we know, ruin games (and most other things, too).

A "furry game", or one made by a pro-furry advocate, would have all the pitfalls of the left, PLUS the additional subculture issues unique to that subculture.

Or in other words, he saw that his stock was crashing, but not QUITE below 50% yet, so he called a flash-election while he still had a chance of winning, rather than wait a year and guarantee that he'd be destroyed.

If Germany as a nation and as a rulership gets harassed for letting real pedophiles go freely raping children left right and center, because the rapists are the right religion or race to be untouchable by the law, well, they have a problem. The problem of optics, of course! So make something ELSE punishable under the same name, of someone non-violent, non-dangerous, and not going to lead to people yelling "Allahu Akbar" in the streets while massacring hundreds for daring to interrupt their satanic play, and then the govvy can point at the stats and go "yes, lots of children were raped this year too, but look, we arrested a bunch of people under the anti-pedo act! ...None who were actually raping your children, but we arrested people!"

I think the temperature itself is notable, beyond just "polar vortex", since the crux of the story is pouring bleach upon him, in an outside-exposed parking garage, because the air temperature at the time was below that at which bleach freezes solid.

Very much so.

Price follows supply and demand, but "price" isn't "money", it's "exchange of value". And the value of "money" halved when they doubled the number of people earning the same amount of "money". It didn't show right away, the invisible hand moves slowly, but it did adapt to that new market.

All that stated, per the OP, I could own a house, a car, and have a kid start saving for a local post-secondary-education, on one income. It isn't hard to do. Just don't buy a fucking mansion, don't live in or near a city like a Lefty lunatic, use your appliances carefully and until they truly break down, don't ever do any drugs like alcohol or tobacco or the harder ones, and buy a car with super-long-term lifespan in mind.

Still technically incorrect, they they would recursively need to both pay taxes on that additional 5%, and pay the new 5% tax on it as well, since it's a fee increase.

Oh yeah, I couldn't pull half the shit-disturbing I did if I was against a competent commander. Luckily most commanders, even competent ones, focused on only two of the four fields (usually but not always center and their own, and even if it changed, it was usually still just two, and usually then it was losing their own), so I could just poke and prod until I found the best spot to be.

Making emote-based alliances with the third faction roamers was also a fun trick. The unbreakable code of /wave /point.
