Safe, Legal, and Rare, you might say. Where have I heard that before...?
I'd also bet money that there's an element of "eating nothing but candy" to the mindset too.
Modern writers don't have a sense of restraint, or balance. They see things that they like in other media and then double down on them because more must be better, right? Those quiet, thoughtful, heartfelt scenes don't matter, they just drag the experience down! We need more comedy! More explosions! More violence! More sex! That's all the good stuff, so we'll make our entertainment nothing but good stuff!
It's like a kid making a cake, and deciding it will consist entirely of icing. Baking Soda? Flour? That's not sweet and tasty!
Who's down voting this? I've never even played Left 4 Dead and I get the joke.
"How dare this entrepreneur not stay in our country and work for free for us!?"
I hope that this is the start of blowing the lids off several conspiracies against the American people by their government.
Why does anyone like that side-shave style? At absolute best it just looks "passible," and that's on specifically stylized characters designed as illustrations and animations. Slap it on an actual human being and it just looks atrocious.
I will never forgive them for what they've done to TTYD....
It's a question of scale. You can tolerate mistakes, or obnoxious quirks because you know that they're not actively trying to cause problems.
The issue comes when we're demanded to tolerate active, malicious evil, masquerading as harmless quirks.
"Don't worry, we only go on ETHICAL tomb raids."
These people are actually insane. Their inability to distinguish fiction from reality is terminal.
Plausible deniability has been dead for years.
Oh, absolutely. I have a concept going where metals, precious metals in particular, conduct and channel magic, and part of why dragons nest in them is to help recharge their "batteries," so to speak. So there's a biological reason to have a nice hoard. Of course there's "having a nice gold nest" and then there's "I turned my cave into Uncle Scrooge's money bin just because I can."
This is why, in my adopted dragon story I'm working on, 99% of dragons are dicks. They fly around taking whatever they want, because they're big, powerful, and naturally magical. They're the definition of power corrupting. Their culture revolves around accumulating wealth and lording it over everything else. They don't HAVE to be evil and had a more noble history, but why would they be anything else if left unchecked?
The only reason the hero dragon isn't a dick, is because he was raised by humans and is still just a lovable little guy. He has to struggle with the fact everyone else justifiably hates dragons, and he has to struggle with his own greedy, wrathful tendencies bubbling under his friendly nature.
We have to kill lovable animals in order to ensure we get sane presidents!?
Sounds like a Castlevania boss.
It's like poetry. It rhymes. Hopefully it'll work.
It's not even 3AM yet! Did they just lose the will to continue!?
There's a rather significant difference between "I know why the guard rail is there, but I'm going to carefully go around it to get the job done." And "Screw rules! I'm doing what I want to do and you can't tell me not to, DAD!"
The year 3000 is coming way ahead of schedule....
I just LOVE multiculturalism demanding we kowtow to cultural norms of another country across the ocean. Very natural and organic.
I have a vagina!
I have an involuntary need to vomit.
It's interesting how a game about playing roles feels the need to pigeon hole the player's choices like this. Almost like freedom is bad thing to these people or something....
The sad thing is I can follow the train of "logic."
"White people shouldn't feel guilty for something they didn't do. Also, their ancestors are the ones who abolished slavery in the first place."
"So YoU'Re SAyiNg SLaVeRY waS AkCsHooALY GOoD!?"
"He poisoned our water supply, burned our crops and delivered a plague unto our houses!"
"HE DID?!?"
"No, but are we just gonna wait around until he does?!"
Worse. Lando and Mace don't count for some reason. Despite being popular and beloved characters.
