I don't even care enough to look up what they're releasing. There's not going to be anything interesting in there. Certainly not aliens. Just some blurry shit about weather balloons and maybe experimental planes.

It’s a topic that has interested me for years. I’d love to travel the universe
we're part of something, no matter if some "other civilization" is visiting or not.
The universe, matter and life itself are mindboggling enough.
Is there some crazy stuff out there, somewhere, millions of lightyears away? Possible.
Are they flying around, covering absurdly vast distances, just to do stupid patterns in our sky? Hardly makes any sense.

It's logical to think there are or have been aliens somewhere in the universe; we have a proof by example (us) and life seems to be a natural consequence of energy and entropy.
But it's illogical to think they somehow crossed space and time itself specifically to get to Earth, especially not based on some ancient text saying there was a weird light. Our understanding of physics and time says that's not possible; we'd have to be wrong about the speed of light, age of the universe, things like that.
Given what we know about the distances and timescales involved in interstellar travel, it is far, far more likely that any "aliens" are just hidden remnants of highly advanced ancient civilizations that existed right here in earth.
The generational ships that left 2000 years ago, not knowing if their planet still has life on it any longer? A possibility.
A species on the brink of self-destruction sending colony armadas in every direction towards potential life-supporting planets? Traveling for 1000s of years in cyber-sleep? Also possible.

There's things in the universe we haven't discovered yet. We know they are there, but have no idea how or why. "Non-Locality" for example.
Our current limited understanding says it's impossible, but even we can imagine "loopholes" could exist. Maybe.

So it could be possible. If Aliens have indeed visited here? Then it likely is possible, otherwise it's a 2000 year one-way trip.
It is probable that intelligent Aliens exist, but can they get smart enough to cross those vast distances? That's the bigger question. Even radio contact at those distances is highly unlikely.
That's a good point too: why even travel to another planet to exterminate a species? Just lob a gigantic hunk of rock at them. It doesn't even need to come from another solar system (like in Starship Troopers) there's ample supplies here! Send an unmanned probe, push a 10-mile+ rock a little and presto! Human race effectively destroyed.

If there's mysterious aliens then we're on the cosmic plantation and there's no reason to revolt or protest or shape how civilization develops because we're not actually in charge. We're in the space zoo and occasionally see the caretakers, so just eat your bananas and be content.

Been a subject I’ve been into since I was in 3rd grade. So far I haven’t really seen anything I haven’t seen or heard before. When I was in the Air Force I got some second and third hand stories about reverse engineering or seeing craft in a hangar but that is second and third hand. I personally believe God created a big universe so the idea of life on other planets doesn’t shake my faith. I’m well aware that demons exist and there are a lot of mysteries with the ocean and people reporting craft going in and out of the ocean. So I’m interested to see what else is released

I too think the universe was created on purpose not by accident. That there would be countless forms of intelligent life would be fully expected, not one single planet with it. The universe is BIG! The idea of inter-stellar travel all depends on how fast it takes to go 1 light-year. Star Trek / Star Wars speeds or Silent Running? It makes a huge difference. I'll use 100 light-years distance as an average.
Faster than 1 LY per hour? We'd have UFOs everywhere. Kids taking Mom's spaceship for a joy ride, family sightseeing trips. The skys would be crowded.
1LY per hour: Interstellar travel would be like a long road trip, a wagon-train voyage. 100 light years would take 5 days or so, there would be regular contact by now.
1 LY per day: 100 days is a lot! Slower than trans-Atlantic travel by sail. But determined Aliens could easily make the journey, so regular contact would have happened by now too.
Once we get to a week (700 days) or a month (3000 days) it gets much harder to make the trip. Contact would be limited and one presumes VERY expensive too.
6 months or a year? That's getting into "generational ships" unless they live a very long time. Contact would be very rare and likely a huge expedition.
I'm guessing it takes 1-2 months for 1 light year, based on the limited contact so far. But having scouted us thoroughly (and returned to report it) they're going to send a big fleet / armada for full contact / takeover. The gov'ts & elites know it is well on its way & act accordingly to prepare.
How about near-instant but requiring vast amounts of energy input? Think temporary wormholes generated by a megaproject. You wouldn't be able to spam travel, but the distance wouldn't be the limiting factor either. No reason to go to a specific spot until you receive an indication of life, which would likely be a signal traveling at 1 LY/y.
It only takes us 3 days to get the moon, but we don't do it that all that often.
