I know nothing about Prince of Persia but I know this is the best outcome.
Sands of Time was one of the best games of that generation. You should find a way to play it. It holds up.
I'm happy it's not being remade by today's Ubisoft.

How are these people this fucking stupid? Being "updated" in Present Day would almost certainly mean updating graphics that still hold up alright, and making everything kind of faggoty, punctuated by bouts of girl bossiness and maybe lesbianism.
It was a bit clanky on controls. Would not have been bad to update it but should have been a low budget project to fix the controls and maybe get a cool extra mechanic or some cool new boss fight.

and yes, there are HD mods for it (so simple even a chimp could install them)
we do not need a "remake" made by queers and indians, we can remaster our own vidya
the textures themselves are incredibly low res, even if you upscale and play at a much greater resolution than intended the textures will look smudged or blocky (not that it affects gameplay mind you, its just visuals)
i'm a power user and if i can mod an old ass game to improve its visuals i'll absolutely do that.

This project was leaked years ago and formally announced a while after. I want to say at least 3 years wasted on development now. Another DEI dev team casualty? How hard can it be to remake an Xbox era title with modern tools?

They probably spent years and millions wokifying it and decided that they would get massacred if they tried to release it.
