My lady is a born and bred Quebecor, she moved out to Alberta a few years ago. I showed her your post and she started ranting. Here are the highlights...

  • Quebec is rotten to the core.
  • She went to a top tier high school, they are "pure hell."
  • Taxes. They're lower in Alberta. Much fucking lower. Also Alberta beef will rock your world.
  • Green spaces everywhere here, even in the middle of big cities (she is impressed by that and I don't know why).
  • The river smells in Qc. Once you're out, you fucking notice. It reeks.
  • The sky doesn't feel oppressive in Alberta. (We live in southern Berta so it's like 320+ days a year of sunshine with few clouds)
  • Apparently it's much easier to buy a house here.
  • Say. Whatever. You. Want. In. Public. No one cares. (Apparently that's a big deal in Quebec cause of speech laws).
  • The people are better and nicer. Happier it seems. Even the assholes are lesser dicks.

But dude, if you're francophone, I'm sure there's schools looking for teachers out here. French emersion programs are fucking huge here and they're usually semi private (so fucking good $$$).

It's a big move but now there's also a chance that you could be a part of either a 51st state or an independent country who is actually willing to ally with the good ol' US of A. Fwiw I know that my woman has been a lot happier here than where she lived her whole life (her words). DM me if you want to know more, I can see if I can help you move out to the land of the free-er (for now anyways).

If you have a passion to teach things, I wonder if doing an educational YouTube channel is something you would enjoy. I guess it doesn't matter since you can get disability. Get that bag before the world ends.

Quality post. It's about time that disability goes to someone who actually deserves it.

Since this is Quebec I can assume these are all... white kids? That's pretty scary

I can assume these are all... white kids?

That was ''fixed'' by mass migration after 1990 in Montréal and after 2010 everywhere else except in very few remote low population towns that will be ruined by a single bus of fertile invaders.

Non-Whites everywhere now. I don't recognize my small town ( less than 5k population ).

People getting thrown around by our retarded society should get some compensation for it, yes. Reform would be even better but that's not happening anytime soon.

Also I assume OP is a dude

She wasn't thrown around she was just paying taxes wtf are you talking about?

At what point was she "thrown around?" Taking a bus to work? Kids being kids in her class? Or normal taxes for her area?

All normal shit everyone deals with.

If that's typed by a man it's a gay man, it's screamed female.

So many of our problems are cultural on top of legal and judicial. The post describes a sick, collapsing culture that only a bugman could endorse. Well beyond "normal shit." None of my teachers had to deal with that.

I love my job, every day is mentally stimulating and exciting. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with burn out or goddamn kids, or even the public, really, and still make enough to have a cozy life. But I live out west in Canada, things are a hell of a lot better here.

I had that for almost a year. Happiest I've ever been too. I didn't even look forward to days off because I wanted to be at work. It was also the lowest paying job I ever had as an adult. I was living at absolute bare minimum quality of life, and using a credit card just to afford enough to eat. But still losing weight, and already close to underweight. I had no choice but to leave.

I can imagine this is how a ton of young women get to experience work, with their fake jobs/adult daycare positions that companies make up for them, and overpay them for.

As a side note, I know my company has a department for training end users and authorized service personnel how to use our products. If you like teaching and want a better audience, maybe give that line of work a shot. Otherwise, there are franchised tutoring services you could try and open

As a 'Murican I was told that Canada funds their schools and teachers much better than we do here in the US. While there are underfunded school systems here it sound like your paid far below average than our teachers. My relative was a choir director/music teacher at the middle school/high school and while she's not wealthy by any means she's got a full retirement pension after less than 20 years, sometimes only doing a few classes a day.

Quebec is kind of an anomaly. They have a completely different high school/post-secondary system than the rest of North America. Tuition tends to be cheaper.

On the flip side, wages also tend to be lower. It's kind of a trap as you’re trained in your French mother tongue, but also only have skills that are useful in a closed, small, socialist market.

The Quebecois can escape, but it involves leaving their culture for the mostly unilingual rest of the continent. And most bilingual work is going to be in the federal civil service or academia, which is really frying pan/fire.

Teachers in English Canada are paid much better AFAIK. They can max out around 100k pretty quickly with some seniority & skill upgrading. The problem is that the working conditions are similarly atrocious. And tons of diversity are being poured even into the bougiest of schools daily.

Quebec is... Hmm... There's no real USA equivalent. They've got the politics of California, the pride of Texas, and the attitude of New York... And the economy of Rhode Island... And the legal power over the rest of the country of mid-tier-court judges in Hawaii.

i remember when i was in high school we had gym/PE teacher quitting one after another (basically they'd last 1-2 years tops)

until the last one, the last one clearly did not give a fuck

and he openly told me he's barely getting paid that highschool money was basically "gas money"

at that point i figured out why there is barely no male teachers in schools, it isn't just feminism and a terrible envrioment for a dude to be in, its LOUSY pay and kids who don't give a damn about you that breaks you

idk how people go through with it until you mentioned zoloft and all the other SSRI, you truly do have to be drugged out of your mind to deal with such shitty conditions

and honestly you shouldn't, edjewcation can be easily replaced with A.I but then they won't have ZOG informers who'd snitch on students who don't believe in the hall of costs...

Every developed nation should drop Prussian-compulsory education, and swap to full vouchers. Won't fix every kid, parent, and school, but at least there's room for the functioning participants to move around and choose. More importantly, exclude incompatible persons.

You're absolutely right. Most school programs are about babysitting and childcare than education. Parents are so ready to dump their kids off and get a break.

Our society is broken.

It seems like a no win situation to me. Someone's got to keep these Ipad kids in line... but doing so is a nightmare and the way modern schools work is terrible. Maybe it's better outside North America but I don't feel like there's a real way to course correct.

Kids should be taught to fight in school and corporal punishment should be an option for staff.

One thing I've learned volunteering at schools is that kids love getting beat up. I used to start rough housing with a few of them and half the yard would come running for their chance to get drop kicked into a snow bank.

Okay now that I've got that out of my system... I absolutely know where you're coming from. I was a TA in college and a professional tutor, and I quit in 2007 because it was getting so bad. I'd like to say I can only imagine how bad it is now but sadly I have a teenage daughter.

Did you know that in many places in America, high school dropout rates are increasing due to the amount of shitskin illegals who never finish high school? It's approximately 6/10 of them.

6/10 illegal mexicans are high school dropouts. Thanks jews!

God I hate them so much. They're profoundly stupid and ruined multiple places I used to love. They have no soul and no ability to understand how they're making everywhere they go into mexico. Litter, noise, driving semis through neighborhoods, illegally modified cars, more litter, and a real penchant for insisting that not supporting more illegals is evil. They're also cartoonishly insular and even make "nonprofits" that are spanish, and only help fellow illegals. Evil, evil fucking moneys.

Im not even remotely going to compare my situation to yours, but I had a similar epiphany with the combination of holiday offload and the coming of the new year with horrible weather.
Ive taken up coding as a hobby to make what amounts to meme-generators for my discord, and already as a complete novice I am just surrounded by hyper intelligent white people.
I love it so much Im tempted to just continue my education in a more serious route and take up marketable skills outside of just my "chatbot that calls you a nigger."
At the risk of sounding too overenthusiastic, I'd be willing to bet for any white man >100 IQ learning to code is an unironic gold mine.

Thanks for sharing. I see a lot of parallels with my job as a nurse down here in the USA, with most of the women on psych drugs and so many are burned out. I feel it in myself to be burned out so I only work part time to minimize my taxes, and I feel a lot better, so no drugs for me.

I also don't deal much with kids and when I do there is a lot more respect than teaching because people are sick and scared and looking for answers. The burn out is real though, with the corporate crap we have to do, and still a ton of pressure from people.

I get it because you're in Canada and in a public school, but I'd rather we go into private teaching. The right needs a presence in education.

▲ 2 ▼
– WeedleTLiar 2 points 160 days ago +2 / -0

That presence is teaching your own kids directly and/or training new guys at work.

Free public education has been a total failure; the whole system needs to be torn down and re-thought. You've got teachers getting fucked like this but, on the other side, you've got kids who do care falling through the cracks because they think nobody else cares (and they're 99% right).

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Gizortnik 1 point 160 days ago +1 / -0

Yes, no, and yes. Yes we should teach our own kids, but no it's not the only thing. We can't destroy public education at this point, but we need to build an anti-parallel system, which is why I think that we need to keep conservative (and male) teachers in the industry, but in a private part of the field.

A lot of Leafs go into teaching because the pay & benefits are decent with lots of time off.

It's also a quick path to employment with only another year or two of post-secondary if one finds themselves with a useless Bachelors degree.

It's also a very cyclical profession. Sometimes there's a glut of subs, causing many new grads to give up & leave the profession for lack of opportunity. Other times there's a shortage with schools sticking non-licensed subs in the classroom, so people start training again.
