To the decades of cooling, nuclear winter's a gradient not a binary. India and Pakistan are nuclear armed, but not on the scale that USA and the Soviet Union were back when that particular brand of doomsday soothsaying was more popular.
Most of the predictive models are a decade or more old and have been shown to pretty heavily overestimate the degree and longevity by other natural stratospheric particulate injection events that have happened since. But even so I think some of the more modest models predict only 1-2 Celsius cooling for 6-12 months if India and Pakistan fully unloaded on each other.
If they end up nuking each other, how will we tell it happened? They'd look the same before and after..

India is supposed to pretend those muslim terrorists mass killing people in India near the Pakistan border had nothing to do with Pakistan despite decades of them crossing the border to help local muslims butcher tens of thousands of Hindus ( often Pakistan military personnel ''on leave'' ).
And ignore that the very presence of muslims in the area is the result of agressive islamic expansions over centuries.
