To be fair, Jesus Christ Superstar itself is a humiliation ritual. I don't have as strong feelings about it as some Christians, but the whole point of it is to be a "gospel of Judas", it claims that Jesus was just a fame-whore charlatan, and that Judas was trying to do the right thing to get him to stop and he was tricked into selling him out. It ends with Judas being dressed in heavenly white, singing, as the center of attention chiding Jesus.
And there is a crazy theory that Jesus was really a woman. I wonder if that will get resurrected (no pun intended)

It's in the name: the whole basis is that Jesus was never divine, and he was a charlatan seeking attention, money, women, and fame, and Judas was the poor guy swept along with him who wanted him to stop before something terrible happened.
