To be fair, Jesus Christ Superstar itself is a humiliation ritual. I don't have as strong feelings about it as some Christians, but the whole point of it is to be a "gospel of Judas", it claims that Jesus was just a fame-whore charlatan, and that Judas was trying to do the right thing to get him to stop and he was tricked into selling him out. It ends with Judas being dressed in heavenly white, singing, as the center of attention chiding Jesus.
