they said they had 300 "experts" which they claim are historians and archaeologists work on this. And if what they said is true, then that is more proof that the historian industry is compromised and we shouldn't believe them on anything and we should do our own research. We shouldnt believe anything from mainstream historians especially not anything big like i dont know.... ww2 or something

Archeologist: "The skulls were this shape."
Filmmaker: "What color was their skin and how prominent was the soft tissue?"
Archeologist: "We really can't tell that from the bones."
Filmmaker: "Perfect. We'll credit you as a consultant."

Isn't it just an amazing historical coincidence that the good guys always win and the bad guys always lose?

I have a browser add on that replaces words. For news articles I have "experts" replaced with "the homeless crack addict, we found outside our office". Makes them more accurate.

Where is the source? Anyway, why do the 'ancient Swedes' look like Somalian and Ethiopian budget-actors? Never mind, we all know the reason behind that.

If all this was true then this would’ve been well known a long time ago. Why I can’t trust any modern day historians because of stuff like this. Same type of historians they trot out to defend the latest bbc period piece where medieval England looks like downtown LA. These historians are no better than archeologists who seem to only dig up the remains of “non binary” or “trans” people who lived hundreds of years ago.

They will claim it was oppressed by the white, heteronormative, patriarchy.

There's a theory that governments started the whole "Mandela Effect" phenomenon to use it as a tool to change the past to one they want, like 1984. I use to think it was quaint then I see this and think maybe it is a concentrated effort

It’s funny, I stumbled upon a wiki on South Africa and they legitimately had “mostly peaceful” to describe the civil war that ended apartheid. It’s not subtle even, they’re just flat out lying and leaving things out because the layman will read a ChatGPT analysis and take it as scripture.

In fairness, there's something wrong with how the South Africans and Rhodesians saw their conflicts. Even Rhodesia, which was being invaded by a half-dozen countries, embargoed by the west, and had invading Communists supported by the Soviet Union still acted like their Bush War was a policing effort, and not a full-scale war. They never really acted as if it was an existential threat. South Africa didn't seem to consider their conflict a Civil War, nor an insurrection. They also didn't consider the Angolan Civil War, a massive regional war prosecuted against them by Cuba. The Angolan Civil War was basically a War between South Africa and Cuba, that took place in Angola, but no one really treated it like that at the time.

I don't understand it, but no one seems to be being honest about these conflicts, even the ones who should know better.

in order to change the past, you need to be able to change the books. before, that means burning the old books and publishing new books.

when all the books are now digital, and no one goes to the library anymore, what does that mean for history? (rhetorical question)

It's scary because there is already huge censorship in the vast digital libraries of the ebook stores. No one has the balls to just let books exist when curation isn't as big of deal like in a physical place like a library

I've said 1984 warned us about this so many times that I'll finally change the script a bit.

ahem

Fahrenheit 451 warned us about this

I think Brave New World might be even closer. No need to burn books when most of the plebs aren't even interested in reading.

Somehow I don't think so. For one, I was a victim of it in my childhood.

I was a huge TMNT fan as a kid--the original cartoon.

For most of my life after the show ended, I remembered there occasionally being a samurai rabbit character named Sushi.

Nope. While there IS a bipedal samurai rabbit character, his name is, and always has been, Usagi Yojimbo.

I was Mandela'd before the Internet became publicly available. Somehow.
