I tried posting this on old reddit kia, and it keeps getting removed:
I have scrubbed everything out of it that mentions "trans", and there are now literally zero mentions of the word-that-shall-not-be-named in there, but it is still verboten to point out why the game is like it is.
It so tiresome to see how effectively and completely these people have seized control of the debate, and have made it impossible to criticize them, or do anything that would give uninformed masses in the middle a reason to question what is going on.
How has that AGP fuckwit still not 41'd himself yet?

They claimed it was because of admin pressure, which was probably true to some extent, but everyone knows that they were thankful to have the excuse to finally force it without having to deal with blowback.

KIA mods have ruined any ability for me to give them benefit of the doubt, even when they are almost certainly in the right. A real "lemme go check if the sky is still blue like you are trying to claim" thing.
But I think we can agree its both true that the admins pushed it and many mods were happy to oblige.
It seems to be one particular mod, as that comment I posted up above (with every "offending" word redacted) was hidden for a while, but was eventually allowed (obviously it was reviewed by some other mod, and allowed...), and got up to like 30 or so upvotes. Then, after it had already been approved the other mod that had removed it before:
came around and removed it again.
I'm guessing that particular mod is one of the leftist commissars that was inserted into the mod crew a while back, as they're the one that seems to go around removing all the trans stuff (even when you've redacted everything like I had done).
Again - it's so fucking tiresome to see the degree to which this <1% of the population has been allowed to near completely take over and control almost all big public online discourse. If not for crazy ass Musk sinking 44 BILLION into fucking Twitter, their control would be almost 100%.

When you add their point of view as being superior rather than equal or simply alternative, their whinging makes a lot more sense, but only to their own. They honestly believe you should see them as your betters, as this guy illustrates by claiming his perspective sees things us simple snail-eyed mollusks are simply too dense to see.
They believe they're elevating and improving rather than just adapting. Adding their elite presence to media for us to flock to in our shortsighted lack of imagination. That we just don't get it is the complaint of a shepherd trying to move a flock that won't budge. Why won't they just bow down? They owe me!
When they fail, it is us who have failed to recognize and react. When we complain, we're simply wrong. It's all narcissistic denial, and nobody is allowed to stand up to it. A whole culture being bullied by literal psychotics.

I loved Dragon Age: Origins. I played Dragon Age 2 for over a hundred hours, possibly hundreds of hours, even while acknowledging its flaws, althought that was largely due to my interest in trying out playthroughs with various new mods. I even read a couple books about the series. But I never bought or played Inquisition.
I have a mild interest in watching the trainwreck of the franchise that I formerly loved. I'll keep looking at more news about what the 4th game looks like, even knowing that it's something I'll never purchase or play, just because I'm curious to know how bad it's become.

I love the thoroughly debunked "option features" argument.
Optional features that, as a dev, if you state you're not adding, you get a bunch of hitpieces.
Optional features that, as a player, you turn off via mods...you get banned, and the mod gets deleted for hateful content.
No, these aren't fun optional features some players might enjoy; this is - and I know I'm preaching to the choir here - completely about ideological capture...and ESG funds, of course. But it's not optional, and it's not a feature.
Only good thing about this is it'll show up on basedmods eventually and that's a great first stop for me when considering a new game purchase. I know there will be some woke shit on there and some based modder has already scrubbed it out for me.
Why buy it, then? If you need a mod from there the devs hate you.
Very well said. In a vacuum, if these were truly just some features that happen to be in the game I wouldn't care quite as much ("top surgery" scars aside.) Developers that think the ability to give a character a rare skin condition is important are batting 1.000 for making games with painfully boring stories, where middle aged girlbosses require me to gather random items, and lecture me on the evils of capitalism and not trusting the science. Not to mention all the bugs.
Game devs have only so many hours in a week/month/year. If they're working on coding something, they must sacrifice time coding something else. That alone is argument enough against a lot of the "harmless" things these people insist on injecting into video games: For every "feature" added, there's one more game-breaking-bug not fixed, one more facial expression that is janky, one more "the train isn't actually a train, just a person with a giant train-like hat, hidden in the ground, because we didn't have time to make an actual train" incident.
To be fair, the train thing is pretty brilliant.
Note that I still want to see Todd Howard pilloried, tarred, feathered, and run out of town with a train hat for what he's done to The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Looks like Dragon Age to me. The series always had this faggy and written-for-activists-and-cat-ladies feel since the second game. It's spent more time in that state than as a dark fantasy spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate the first one tried to be.
Considering DA had one kinda good game (DA:I is hugely overrated fight me) and two super fucking woke games after, I think this is more DA than anything you wish it was.
Like, DA2 was 13 years ago and its nearly indistinguishable from a modern woke game with how fucking blatant and in your face its politics are. The only change is that they still had a few hot chicks and you had the option (though heavily discouraged) to call everyone retarded.

Every time I point out how ridiculous the vitiligo feature is in a character customisation, normies are quick to say "It's just optional! It gives you more choices for your character" I always retort that they could have added freckles, combat scars, or more beard/facial options instead of wasting an artist's time on that nonsense. They always scurry away after that. But the fact that normies are just rolling over and accepting it shows that the ideological capture of top brands is starting to have an effect.
I just like telling them it's belittling a real world disease.

First off I want to say Dragon Age Portland looks pretty authentic. Don’t worry though the dev team will be out there soon with their games unrinalist allies claiming that a tiny minority of Trump supporting incel racist bigots are sending them death threats. They will say the vast majority of gamers support this. Then cry when it barely breaks even if lucky when it goes live and can join Concord, Assassins Creed Blackwash, Dustborn, and Saints Row on the monument to hubris.
Even from the very start it's bad. The Qunari looks like he's selected because he's bigger; there's not 'step forward' or similar animation. Diablo 2 did it better and had more clarity, a quarter of a century ago! This isn't hard.

Well, I hope whoever is looking forward to this gets a game they enjoy. Every preview I see reinforces that I'm not their target audience. I did enjoy the first, for what it was, but I've spent less and less time with each subsequent sequel.
Maybe not a game they enjoy, but certainly one they deserve.

Boring! That's the only reason why the character creator is getting news. It was one thing to see Bethesda do a major leap with character customizing in something like Fallout 4 with how modular it is, but that is now practically standard issue with character customizing.
At the end of the day, no one cares, wear your platemail and helmet like everyone else and we never see our character face or body again.
Have they added a very modern 2020s-era hospital to one of the main cities in this historical fantasy world?
