Traitors before enemies. Secure your back else you will find someone like Trump plunging a dagger in it.

This just sounds like on of his 'thinking out loud' moments like simply asking in a meeting dealing with a hurricane 'what would happen if we nuke it?' Which he's known to do.

If you're looking for someone who will COMPLETELY shut down immigration, Trump isn't that guy as he's said so himself. He wants to shut down the floods of ILLEGAL immigrants but make it a simpler process for LEGAL and this talking point is focused on braindrain of what's the point of training people to be skilled workers only for them to leave, should be keeping the skilled ones here.

It's understandable but modern colleges and THEIR standards mean this isn't feasible.

Honestly, I've heard a few other Republicans spouting this same idea, so I don't think it's just a loose thought. I think they're seriously considering it as yet another fallback position to an issue they don't think they can "win".

Problem is, anyone paying any attention to Canada already knows what a fucking stupid idea this is.

I'd only consider it if they were so bright that they were one of those autistic geniuses or an engineer so skilled they skip grades to do advanced degrees as those you'd want to keep but that's like the top 0.5% of all students.

This is another example of trying to make a rule of an exemption when it should be a case by case basis.

You'd have to prove those people don't already exist in our own country and that said person wouldn't just leave once they get secured enough.

Unless its a literal Newton level "changing human knowledge as we know it" type, nothing they bring couldn't be brought by just investing in our own people to find the capable ones growing here. Which has all the benefits and none of the caution or drawbacks as importing one.

Countries aren't a video game where you need to increase your Engineer Population to keep your talent tree progressing. So there isn't a need to leave openings to exploit for them.

That's why I said it's another case of trying to make a rule from an exemption.

If there was some super genius that creates a microbe that eats radiation and turns it into fertile, toxin free soil, I'd justify not just giving them a visa but they're own security detail and castle. But that ISN'T what's happening so no point even making a policy for a hypothetical.

I like the fact that even Steve Bannon had to rebuke him out on it. He basically explained that instead of getting green cards: cut foreign students by 50% and create exit visas for their graduation.

Not a good sign for those of us who want Bannon (or a Bannon-esque figure) back in the white house.

No, but I warned everyone that the best way to defeat Trump was to work with him. A lot of people said that he's super vengeful, but I haven't really seen it.

He's trying to craft a deal, but he's still a 90's Democrat. He's the best spear we have to break the system to make long term change, but the change is going to be, by definition, long term.

Insanely, leftists understand the correct response on this one is to look at what he did vs said about green card people when he was actually president a lot better than right wing guys do. There are going to be more moments like this between now and November with more freakouts from right/"right" wing retards and the answer is still going to be "don't care, still voting Trump" no matter what they are.

I'm of the opinion that we should have nearly open borders with any civilized nation. The main problem is that there aren't very many civilized countries.

If someone from Japan or Korea wants to come here and has no criminal record and has a high school or college diploma, I don't care. Free work visas for them.

I would have also included most of western Europe, Canada, and Australia in that list 20-30 years ago but they are no longer civilized countries.

What a fucking trash take. Countries are not just economic zones, they have histories , cultures and heritages that should be preserved with ethnic/racial homogeneity. .

There should be no open borders between different races at all regardless if they are civilized or not.

Would be hilarious to see him implement this policy simply because it would really fuck over college-educated millennials and zoomers, and because the Orange Man did it they'd be twisting themselves in pretzels to figure out how to smear him without appearing anti-immigrant. You'd def get a lot of "think pieces" whining about how the Orange Man is targeting liberal voters and helping big business crush white collar unions with foreign scabs who are already from "privileged" families overseas and how the GOP is playing games to appeal to Asians and blah blah blah.

He's also very soft in most of his approaches to problems. It doesn't seem like it, because the Left treat him like a psycho with a knife, but once you strip away his slightly abrasive way of saying it, he always has a pretty gentle solution to peddle.

In this case, he won't deport or just shoot illegals like most of us would want. He will try to make them into Americans, despite them showing how little they want that.

That's how you would make a deal. Big talk, reasonable compromise.

He will try to make them into Americans, despite them showing how little they want that.

I would rather them be Americans too. The thing is, I suspect that most of them are so fundamentally interested in money rather than subversion, most of them will simply leave when pressure is put on them (either by recession or by policy).

We can want people to be a lot of things: reasonable, law abiding, loyal. But time has shown many people outright refuse to be so and cannot be made so in any way that won't become treasonous the moment they think they can get away with it.

All illegals have shown themselves willing to commit a major crime just to become that, there is no changing the fact that they are in fact major criminals. And if we forgive huge crimes just because sad stories or "for votes" then there is no point to having laws in general. Just suggestions and Elites stomping on you.

Frankly, I don't think the situation is actually that bad. We just don't assert ourselves. The moment we take even minor steps in our own defense; the sham comes tumbling down.

It reminds me of that week where it looked like the Tories in the UK had enacted the Rwanda plan successfully. Suddenly, for a whole week, there were zero boats crossing the channel. And all that was was the fear of paying people to go to Africa.

I genuinely don't think it would take much effort to make most of the chancers leave, this is mostly because we are paying them all to come. If we wanted, we don't even need a deportation program. We just have to stop paying them.

The Visa overstayers might go back. The border hoppers likely wouldn't because the coyotes and other methods needed to cross only go one way, so they physically wouldn't be able to for most of them.

These people would just resort to more crime and going further under ground, while playing on local's sympathies, if the federal government stopped fully funding them.

Heck one of my big local rings is a fully legal Mexican fellow who simply snaps up every dude who arrives, forces them into 7 day a week for 200$ month labor jobs and then collects on the huge contracts the corporations are actually paying for that work. No government involved, and its suspected he actually pays to smuggle them over himself. Just a regular old "no labor laws apply" scheme.

The border hoppers likely wouldn't because the coyotes and other methods needed to cross only go one way, so they physically wouldn't be able to for most of them.

I disagree. The border hoppers are doing it because crossing the border illegally is more beneficial than crossing it legally. We've set up a system where we incentivize people to cross illegally in almost all possible cases. Almost all of their illegal trips are sponsored by NGO's, foreign governments, and massive investments. They could easily get a plane ticket back to their home countries, even if they burned their passport. They wouldn't have a support network to re-migrate them, but they wouldn't need it either. They'd just need a hundred bucks or so, and they'd be back in their home countries by the end of the day.

Heck one of my big local rings is a fully legal Mexican fellow who simply snaps up every dude who arrives, forces them into 7 day a week for 200$ month labor jobs and then collects on the huge contracts the corporations are actually paying for that work.

This I totally agree on, but I didn't bring it up because it's the supply side of the equation, while I was focusing on the demand side. We need a full-scale dragnet on the illegal employers. A lot of the isolationists want illegals shot, but honestly, these employers are the ones who need to be hit with the fullest extent of the law.

I guess its better to get intelligent well educated anyone who has the ability to pay instead of illegals (because they are more likely gang members and terrorists).

Still a very stupid idea to give more power to US universities and colleges.
