He was already saying that marxists and Christians should work together.

https://notthebee.com/article/pope-francis-now-says-he-wants-more-dialogue-and-cooperation-between-catholics-and-marxists-

Would be nice if he would actually focus on the scripture and take a stand on sin rather then being a pro-gay commie.

Being pro-gay commie is taking a stand on sin, specifically the one about coveting your neighbor's goods because that is the core tennet of communism: envying others for what they have.

Not to mention, doesn't the Bible say that sodomy is an evil? A part of the sin of lust? Him being pro-gay seems like he's taking a stand on the side of the Devil. As a Pope, the minimum standard we should expect from him would be to follow his own Scripture.

We need an anti-pope. Someone who is brave enough to challenge and dethrone him.

Francis is the anti-pope. The wolf in sheep's clothing. We need a proper pope.

"We're all in this to-gether!"

Oh...

Oh no...

By the way, he can't take a stand on sin. He is a Liberation Theologist, and a Marxist himself. He'd tear out your throat and set you on fire before supporting Christendom.

Schism now.

Back two years ago, he issued a declaration trying to shut down the Latin Mass, on the grounds that it was too conservative and traditional. He knew he couldn't just ban it outright, so he said that priests had to have the explicit permission of their local bishops to say Mass in Latin. My local bishop, and various others in other places, responded by issuing explicit permission to every priest in their dioceses, whether previously interested in saying Mass in Latin or not, and as a result, the Pope has had to back off, and Latin Mass attendance has gone up. It's a good sign that a bunch of local bishops are fighting back on this nonsense.

This is why I'm an anti-theist though. This kind of institutional maneuvering shouldn't apply when you are discussing something about the final arbiter of morality.

I understand why a Bishop can't formally tell the pope to ESAD, BUT I really do believe that this response is appropriate.

The pope is not infallible. At a certain point, it is obvious that someone in the church is an enemy of God and should be punished as such. The hierarchy of their position is irrelevant when they are an apostate.

So, Catholics you got a way to get a Pope that's ACTUALLY a Catholic and not a leftist mouth piece or does that require another division like what led to protestantism?

– lapalapa 2 points 2 years ago +2 / -0

Pope Francis is Catholic. He just doesn't say the things that today's politics-obsessed people want to hear. Not unlike Jesus, I might add.

Granted, he does say things that sometimes confuse the flock, but all claims of heresy that I've bothered to actually go into end up as misinterpretations of out-of-context quotes.

If you are the leader of a group of people, and you constantly confuse the fuck out of them by being unclear or flipfloppy on long standing issues then you are pretty bad at your job.

Also, him speaking about the WEF and globalization at all is him being more politically involved than his flock ever could be.

The faithful do have frustrations about the Pope, but he's not "flipfloppy". He hasn't said anything actually wrong. People misquote him and make inflammatory headlines.

By the way, globalization can mean different things. Higher interconnectedness of the markets is good for everyone. Don't trust headlines blindly.

I actually went and did just the tiniest bit of research on just one of his positions, just because you are right that headline reading is bad.

He has flipflopped on how much he condemns just the LGBT thing and what he totally meant multiple times. From its bad, to its a sin, to its a sin but not a crime, and on and on. So yes he is flipfloppy seemingly entirely to please people instead of having a solid principle on it. I'm gonna guess you could probably do the same for many of his positions as well.

Also, its the WEF. Their idea of globalization is pretty well known and they aren't shy about explaining it. So trying the "he could mean anything!" defense shows you have no argument other than bad faith bullshit.

bad faith bullshit.

My only argument is that people aren't fair to the Pope. They used to do it with Benedict XVI too, to a lesser degree.

Of course non-Christians weren’t fair to the last pope - he was Christian, and they hate Christians.

The current pope is a degenerate communist, so of course Christians are “unfair” to him. The degenerate communists love him.

Then just say that. If its true then you'll be able to provide solid examples to your point. What you provided instead was terrible, weak, and easily disproven. So either you were trying to be terrible on purpose or you are doing a really bad job about it.

Also I'm gonna guess the people who did it to Benedict and the people doing it to Francis don't have a lot of overlap. I'd ever go so far as to say Francis is acting the way he does to try and win over the very people who hated on Benedict and in doing so is alienating those who approved of him.

Which holds my original point even higher. If you have a job and you are so fucking bad at it that you not only confuse your followers, but actively drive more away than you even come close to gaining, you are terrible at it regardless of anything.

"Higher interconnectedness of the markets" has royally fucked the US populace - it's been good for the corps, not the people.

Domestic manufacturing and energy production being destroyed is proof enough of that. Are you a shill or just dim?

Babylonian world government isn't the same as interconnecting the markets. One word can have different connotations. I doubt you have gone in and figured out exactly what he actually meant. That is my point.

I can understand being pro-pope but please do not compare him to Jesus, seems incredibly dirty to do that. He is not saying stuff that is anti-politics, he is saying things pro-politics while being anti-scripture disguised by being vague.

No one is complaining he is not political, everyone complains that he is more of a political leader then a religious one.

Well marxism is anti-Christian, is fundamentally anti-religion and he is not only not speaking against it but wants it to mix it with Christianity.

He was pro civil union - that is gay marriage under a different form, it was so bad that the Vatican had to put out a statement to contradict him: https://archive.is/pJdNy

I also remember vaguely saying something to the extent that homosexuality is not a major sin - may be wrong there.

He also gets involved in politics on left-wing stances while not saying anything when white farmers getting killed or churches being burned in Canada.

Dialog isn't mixing.

it was so bad that the Vatican had to put out a statement to contradict him:

That very link speaks of clarification, not contradiction.

I maintain that Pope Francis hasn't said anything that goes against Church doctrine. Maybe he says things that aren't compatible with the political right, but that's not religion. People accuse the Pope of being political precisely because he's not.

Sadly, words in line with transcendental love sound like appeasement to those obsessed with solving the world's problems through political means.

"Far-sighted" huh?

That actually sort of works.

If nearsighted policies act for immediate benefit, and are ignorant of dangerous consequences down the line, then I suppose farsighted ones would be those that are ignorant of dangerous consequences in the here and now, and pursue perceived benefits in the future.

Might be worth attaching some negative stigma to such a descriptor.

I get that the pope is praising the policy here, I was just commenting on the unintended double meaning of the wording he used, and the potential utility of a short expression for an all too common concept.

You give him too much credit, assuming that he doesn't know what he's doing in the here and now.

He wants you to be far sighted while he ignores the burning churches right now, so that he may kill Catholicism utterly.

If you think about it, when you go to the eye doctor and he says "you're far-sighted" you don't go "that's great, thanks!" So it's already kind of negative. It's funny how it got twisted to mean something positive. I wonder if it's not a creative mistranslation too.
