This has always been a tactic for leftists, but it has become egregious since Floyd: abdicate your duties, then attack anyone who steps in to fulfill them in your place because “it’s not their job” - as if being charged with a task includes the right to decide not to do that task.
We’re seeing this with border security right now; the federal government is suing Texas for securing the border because that job falls to the federal government… who are purposely not doing it. Completely tortured legal logic, but that sorta shit flies when the bench is full of commies.
It was egregious since Zimmerman, where the very notion of trying to protect your neighborhood from suspicious people was treated as hunting them down for sport.
That one did show how badly it could end up going if you aren't careful, but most of the pro-Trayvon people acted like him even saying anything at all was an attack.
It’s the missive of communism, an individual acting on what government does is impermissible. Now look at how the epa treats farmers who clear beaver dams. We have been so fully subverted that something that was commonplace 20 years ago is now something that the government will punish you for doing as it is “their responsibility” whether they act on it or not (it’s always the latter).
Some people will whine about anything, won't they?
This was really light "vigilantism," it was literally just a neighborhood patrol. They saw the dude, chased the dude, and the police arrested him. Doesn't even sound like they laid hands on him, just chased him down toward the police.
After the suspect was taken away, one of the men who owns a brewery drove off and returned with a round of beers.
Incredibly wholesome.
“I told him, ‘Here we are. Twenty dads left their families on Christmas Eve to find you. We’d love to meet you in a coffee shop when you’re sober and well.'”
It wasn’t the first time Miller had encountered the suspect. On Dec. 6, he said he found the same man sleeping in his trailer.
“He started saying that he needed help, and got emotional. I told him to stop right there, and I said: ‘Right now, at this moment, I’m the victim,'” Miller said.
The father agreed to help look into rehab options for the suspect, if the man helped him clean up the RV.
Super duper scary vigilantism!
The guy ran off instead of helping, and later broke into people's houses. And the police still let him out after they finally caught him. "Just let the police do their jobs!" Tell the courts to do theirs too, then.
But Fort Langley resident Casey Ambrose said he was disheartened to see that the group chose to hunt for the man, rather than let the police do their job.
“He is an unhoused individual who went into the backyards of people’s houses taking small items like beer and food, and squatting in an abandoned trailer. And this is how they respond?”
I can't begin to describe my contempt for these people, or the lawyer lady who was pushing this, who said:
“The level of obsession in identifying, finding, and continuing to blame this man for any alleged petty crime is concerning..."
And they both do a team up, apparently:
Ambrose and Cline say the fathers’ group’s efforts would have been better spent connecting the suspect to social services, such as housing, employment, and mental health treatment.
They literally tried. Also, sounds like that was the end result anyway, I'm sure he will get access to some of those services, if he chooses.
“Having him arrested is only going to continue the cycle of criminalization, likely resulting in another neighbourhood encountering the same issues with him when he is released.”
Now this is just so braindead I don't even know what she's saying. Him being a criminal is resulting in the criminalization. Again, nothing but contempt for especially this brand of "liberals."

That is not their responsibility nor should it be, they're prime concern is the wellbeing of their family and neighborhood, not the criminals.
In some countries if you defend yourself against an aggressor, the aggressor can sue you even though he attacked you!
One of those countries is Canada.
They were prosecuting a southern Ontario man within the last year or so because he threatened with a gun a guy in his driveway trying to steal his truck.
The logic is essential you can't defend yourself unless the guy is actively in the process of B&E your home.
God, I wish they were a form of vigilante justice. The only thing stopping people from hunting actual, undeniable criminals (murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc) for sport is the state.
"Laurentian" refers to the Laurentian elite, which is the Canadian version of Oxbridge or the Ivy League. The elite universities (Toronto, Ottawa and McGill in Montreal) that churn out the majority of our political and media class, complete with all of the globalist politics and snobbery.
"Laurentian" is a label here in Canada for the old money elites originating from the Montreal-Toronto beltway (like Trudeau).
I'm not really sure what an American analogy would be. Maybe "Ivy League". Or the swamp in Washington. Although the concept of "Laurentian" in Canada would extend to geographic centers of influence beyond just the capital in Ottawa. Perhaps a similar concept as though Old World money and cronyism from New York, Washington and Chicago ran the country in an aloof and impenetrable manner.
This is why (one of the reasons) they are so hot on "integration" with mixed neighbourhoods everywhere. Can't do this if your neighbors are 5 delivery drivers in a house from India.

This is a dressed up version of the usual female response, "but why are you so OBSESSED with this [thing that clearly shows why she is wrong]?"
That is not their responsibility nor should it be, they're prime concern is the wellbeing of their family and neighborhood, not the criminals.
I'd be willing to bet an early life check on both of those individuals would be very enlightening
either the cops do it or the people will
in which case the cops usually go after the people instead
Which is why superheroes traditionally wear masks.

When white men start taking care of their own communities, the media gets scared.
Will they get a jury trial in Canada? or is it 12 government Karens who decide their fate?

What the fuck does a glacier have to do with culture war?

Probably.
In Midlands American english "Laurentian" just means referring to the Laurentide Ice Sheet that made the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls.
Hell yeah they are.
The only justice you'll get in Canada is the justice you get for yourself.

Laurentian?
