Jan 6 protesters haven't been sitting in prison for years in solitary pretrial confinement because they were not anonymous online, and didn't mask their faces when they were protesting.
Right wing people protesting the removal of the General Lee statue in Charlottesville with a permitted demonstration are not being hauled into VA courts for criminal charges of menacing.
right wing protesters all across the nation haven't been doxxed, been fired from their jobs, debanked, and in a few cases, assaulted and murdered, all for having the audacity of protesting for a cause they believe in.
I cannot say this with enough contempt, or hate: FUCK THIS OUT OF TOUCH WARMONGERING BITCH
Let's verify voters first and ditch the mass mail-ins from non-existent addresses before we stop people from talking with anonymity.
You've got battered women, bullied children, vulnerable addicts and whistle-blowers all relying on anonymity to try and make things better in their lives. Silencing them or putting them in danger is not something a potential president should ever be suggesting.
I don't have to prove I'm anti-Semitic to have an opinion on anything an prosing that I have to be is almost identical to having to be a member of the socialist party in 1930's Germany to get a job or escape a prison punishment.
I saw this on Gab as well and yeah lol the only good thing about this is doxxing is always a nuclear option as heavy internet users know. There's a reason that even when we get really nasty with each other sane people don't do it. Given what's been coming out lately. What politicians have been getting up to in their private time is going to be far more damaging for them than any of us. Hell you're probably going to see low level corporate employees having all sorts of weird social media history.
This is a bit ironic because I consider her danger to the natural security of United States and she's qualified to be in a presidential candidate running.
Counter offer: Everyone must be anonymous online instead.
This really is one of those things that reinforces my belief that anyone who doesn't want to be anonymous on the internet has absolutely no business having access to it.
Remove women and narcissists from the internet and make the internet technology again.
So stepping back from the inflammatory politics, this idea has been floated several times, usually by frustrated jannies (myself included).
The very real problem is that once a crazy person latches onto you, it can be almost impossible to shake them because crazy people out produce normal people by a factor of 1,000 or more. Most normal people don't leave any comments, or at most a few per week. A crazy person will make hundreds per day. If you block them they just make another account, a normal person can't be bothered but the crazy will do it for literally years.
Linking real names has been tried. Most notably on the Blizzard forum, where it backfired almost instantly, with credible threats being thrown around left and right. The crazy people are of course, more prolific at harassing people in real life as well and now you've just empowered them.
Despite what some New Zealand agricultural enthusiasts will tell you, the purpose of doxing is to threaten people. Either directly or stochastically by allowing more dysfunctional crazies to find you. Forcing real name linking would doxing everyone and thus threatening everyone.
Just like Jordan Peterson, it's a perfectly good response if there was some way to only target communists, but that's not what these kinds of calls are for.
Right, lets remove all online anonymity because:
