Pretty good chance after viewing the first episode of season 7, I'm done with the franchise. The last two seasons weren't great. The first episode of season 7 is giving me a depressing episode of jerks, everything sucks. There is no heart in the series, it sucks. Its repeats of old jokes. Do they have an original idea to use, not really.
At this point, its going to be a Bilibili.tv episode if someone says its good to view anything else.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Yeah I watched the first episode of Season 3 and proceeded to never watch it again once I confirmed that they diversity-hired a shitload of women writers.
I'm not sure that's right. In season 2, the one with the tv showing shows from different dimensions, Morty tells Summer that he's not really her brother, and points to the graves outside. Also, the first episode came out months before the rest of season 3, so I think that this one episode was made before the arrival of the female writers, although I'm not 100% about that.
The one that made me lose interest in the series was the pickle Rick episode, that had the female psychiatrist that's somehow smarter than him, so much so that the only response the smartest man in the universe had against her were the equivalent of fart jokes to attack her personally, that one of the female writers openly said was her self-insert.
Edit: Small correction to the above. The episode in which Morty tells Summer about his grave is called "Rixty Minutes", and it's the 8th episode of the 1st season.
Pickle Rick was shockingly stupid. People convinced themselves to enjoy it ironically. Only someone retarded could have written that shit.
I completely agree. I really couldn't understand the people wearing pickle Rick shirts, or who were talking about the episode as if it had been good, when it was the one that convinced me that the series wasn't worth watching anymore.

Honestly having it end in the gunshot before the coma seasons makes a great subversion ending, all his lifestyle and his tomfoolery cut short with a surprisingly realistic outcome

I tried Rick and Morty a few months ago out of curiosity and because I had like, nothing left to watch, and its basically just edgier (and less funny) Futurama, but it was watchable until like, I think it was the start of season 3 or 4?

Yea, in season 3 they brought in female writers whose only qualification was being female. That's not even some "right-wing conspiracy theory". They said so themselves. Of course that's when the writing fell off a cliff.
S3. That episode is what got me to never watch another new episode again. I'll still occasionally binge most of S1-S2 every now and then.

They blew their comedic load by season 2. Just like almost every other writer in the entertainment industry they expended all their good ideas early on and just fall back on callbacks and generic current year garbage to milk paychecks for as long as possible afterwards.

It's a close facsimile but it's very by-the-book. Read the script with no deviation, unlike Roiland who would ad-lib and put filler words in to sound like natural diction (for better or worse).
