Yep, it's a fantastic state of affairs up here.

We're basically being lied to, funded by our own money.

So like literally every government in the history of governments? Lol...

This government is keeping newspapers and broadcast media funded with taxpayer money, so we can be lied to about everything.

There are 2 news groups that are not government funded, but are also constantly derided by the ones that are funded by the government.

Rebel Media, and Druthers.

Interesting that you put Druthers as the second organization.

Most would have probably listed True North.

Or maybe The Western Standard.

Every gov't has not bribed every MSM outlet, that's a Trudeau exclusive.

Kim Jong Un is actually more honest and truthful, in North Korea everyone knows the media is all gov't controlled and they don't seriously pretend otherwise.

Is that actually what they think in North Korea? How do you know that? You actually don't... You're just parroting a phrase people on our side of the planet say but in actuality, it might not be true at all.

Wow.

It's like there was some sort of central authority putting out memos to all the news outlets in Canadia, and editors are too lazy to revise the originals to give even the approximate appearance of independence, much like our own corporate media passes along the dictats from the administrative state with little revision.

The difference being; in Canada, the federal government openly finances every major news outlet.

Their ''market analysis'' tells them the near-totality of normies won't notice.

So for most effective NPC programing, they must push a consistent message worded a very similar way so that when / if people talk about it, they use the words and framing the government decided, which will reinforce The Message because it sounds familiar.

They use it with nefarious intent, but it's basically the principle of ''teaching'', team bonding chants, religious chants...

Repetition, repetition, repetition untill you repeat it as intented ( and you eventually believe it ).

I might have guessed.

And their argument against replacing all journalists with AI that copy and paste stories is?

permalink save report block reply
▲ 13 ▼
– Grumman 13 points 2 years ago +13 / -0

These aren't the journalists at risk of being replaced by AI. They are on Trudeau's payroll, not beholden to market forces.

True, but Trudeau has no loyalty to these people. They're just tools. I'm sure he'd rather save the cash to spend it on something else if he can avoid paying some clueless useful idiots to generate clickbait propaganda articles.

A higher burden on the welfare state. Paying reporters comes out of a different budget.

The AI needs a programmer to make it lie on demand, the journalists do it themselves...

What's a "mainstream conspiracy theory," and is it even more accurate than the more fringe conspiracy theories have been?

They won't tell you you're wrong, just that you're not allowed to say that, and you're a bad person if you do.

Here is a mainstream ''conspiracy theory'' :

SARS-2 / CoViD-2019 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, in China, and it was engineered as part of a Gain of Function experiment, likely partly-funded by the NIH, as that US agency admited to funding GoF research on bat coronaviruses ( but totally not THAT one, lol ).

This was highly suspected, then confirmed, but higher-ups decided to lie and cover it up in an actual conspiracy, as the Fauci e-mails proved. They knew of the research conducted at the WIV, they knew that in Fall 2019, a bunch of researchers at WIV got sick before the ''wet market'' epidemic started.

The researchers who published a letter in Nature swearing SARS-2 being a GoF engineered virus was ''scientifically impossible'' had ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a conflict of interest they ''forgot'' to disclose. They knowingly lied and decieved the public, and these lies were uncritically published by one of the most proeminent scientific journal of the entire world.*

So yeah, a ''mainstream conspiracy theory'', also known as ''verifiable fact''.

(* Even if virologists weren't directly tied to the WIV, it is in their selfish, partisan interest to deny their collegue's experiments caused the spread of a new virus all over the planet, because a backlash against that would get their funding cut.

For months they swore they were not doing GoF, then when they got exposed in comission pivoted to saying ''yes, we do it, but it's akshually a good thing because we need to research the bioweapons we make to inject you ''vaccines'' against those bioweapons, trust the Science bro''. )

HERE'S THE ACTUAL ARTICLE: https://archive.is/YbSgf

FUN FACT: The article never describes nor debunks what the "conspiracy theories" are he's allegedly promoting.

While it's clear that Canadian government media publicly carries water for the Liberals, you'd be just as big a fool to vote in Trudeau Blue.

PP is a Ratchet Conservative. His job is to oppose the Liberals in such a way that their core philosophy, which is usually insane, is now taken as fact.

For example, he opposes the Carbon Tax, but not the idea of Climate Change. He blames Trudeau for the housing crisis, but won't speak against mass immigration. He makes fun of Trudeau for going to see Barbie, but takes all tennents of feminism on faith.

He preaches for freedom only after a popular grassroots movement made it politically viable to do so; none of the so-called Conservatives raised a peep about the War Measures Act being used against peaceful protestors (except Senator Don Platt; that guy's a boss) until it was over with.

If you want to vote for him to get rid of Trudeau, that's fine. But don't think he'll be any better.

I'm voting for turnover. I want one term (or less) politicians so they can't get comfortable in power. I want minority governments that can be overturned at a moments notice (so no voting for NDP stooges). I want to make and break so many political careers that they run out of viable WEF candidates to run.
