USA: "If you're going to die anyways, join the army, and die for your country."
Canada: "You're suicidal? Have you considered trying... ~suicide~?"
In a way, it is actually internally consistent, though: This woman identifies as dead, and so instead of fixing her mind to make her identify as her self, they're proposing "fixing" her body to match her current mental outlook.
I think thats a good idea. If you had a terminal illness where you are going to die in a few months, you should be able to sign up for a suicide mission with the military and upon completion of mission or death, your family gets 1 million dollars.
I'd have much preferred people with something to live for doing the job competently to someone who can't keep their hands steady or walk without getting winded on a suicide mission on my behalf.
A 37-year-old Vancouver woman named Kathrin Mentler told Canada’s Globe and Mail on Wednesday that when she visited Vancouver General Hospital in June to seek help for chronic depression and suicidal thoughts, a clinician told her to consider euthanasia.
According to Mentler, the clinician told her there were “no beds” and “no availability” because Canada’s socialist health care system is “broken,” and then asked if she had “considered MAID.”
I remember as an intern sending a young woman home from the ER in the middle of the night right after her wrist lacerations were sewn up because "there were no beds" and the psychiatrist on-call couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to come assess her, but was still confident that she'd be fine.
When I could reduce depression and suicide rates by just combining therapy and dog shelters so all patients get a puppy to pet, Canada seems to go the Tumblr rebuttal to any argument or just kill yourself, literally.
Oh I can't start that enterprise in Canada or Australia, both have a history of law enforcement killing dogs for no feasible reason.
Ms. Mentler... counselling student ... 37-year old Vancouver woman ... awoke wanting to scream and cry, and posted about the exchange on a private social media account...
Well, that seemed to have shocked her out of her self-pitying situation and given her some gumption, maybe even enough to want a longer life.
"Doc, I feel so low I want to snuff it."
"Well, OK, Here's a referral to the Sarcopod. It's in the new Kevorkian wing of the hospital."
"What? Seriously? Fuck you, you creep! Just for that I'm going to live!"
The whole scene is ridiculous, but these Canadian ghouls are getting out of hand--
Doctors have been advised to propose euthanasia as an option instead of waiting for patients to request it – and not just for suffering or dying patients, but for those with “disabilities” as minor as hearing loss.
State-run “healthcare,” everyone.
There's not even a "panel" as far as I can tell. A lone croaker can make a judgment and it's off to the Sarcopod.

You don't need military for that.
And there are plenty of men what need killing.
That actually sounds awesome. Instead of losing a battle with cancer, win a battle with commie scum.

Lol where did you hear this? I guess that's a good pitch for trannies but most of them are probably in non-combat roles.
It's internally consistent since the Canadian government hates most of its own populace.

"Doctor, I've had suicidal thoughts"
"That's great! How's Thursday?"
"Help you? LOLNO, but if you want we can kill you."
Respond to said doctors in kind. That'll start changing minds fast.

Clinician:
I would say she has
Well, in all fairness

It's just so surreal I find it comical.
I knew one personally. After all his posturing he finally died of liver disease. He did not go gently into that good night, at least not right away.
It reads like a comedy sketch. But then again, everything about Canuckstan is comedy fodder.
People aren't dying fast enough for them. Juatbaddinfbways for people to die.
Some people in Canada need to die, but it's not the people the government is trying to have kill themselves.
"Have you considered killing yourself" fucking lmao i didn't know canadian healthcare frequent 4chan culture.
''Hello doctor, I suffer horribly.''
~Canadian healthcare.
