That's freaking Zahi Hawas, the lead researcher on ancient Egyptians. The country will get an entirely new government and keep him. He really is the biggest name in Egyptian research, with several documentaries, degrees, and universities praising his name.
If this guy says they weren't black, you better have proof or get out of the way.
But hasn’t the “Egyptians we’re really black” theory been debunked over and over? Outside of the Kushites ruling for a while the Egyptians looked pretty much like they do today. Why it’s so hard for people to get that I don’t understand
Now personally I follow the whole “judge by content of character” mindset from a Christian perspective and I’ll give anyone a chance but I totally understand how certain attitudes arise. I completely get it now. I may be a very optimistic person but I definitely see where you are coming from.
My position is that you've spewed more than enough ignorance, lies and blasphemy to have long since disqualified yourself from any discussion of religious doctrine.
Understand. I have this constant struggle between what I know is reality and what I wish were true. Like I’d love to see everyone getting along and respecting/loving their fellow man but reality is far from that
The way I personally see it, we're called to be gentle as doves, but shrewd as serpents. You don't pre-judge individuals by the aggregate, but you don't throw out the aggregate as useless information either.
Now personally I follow the whole “judge by content of character” mindset
The problem is that when you do that, you end up judging a large portion of blacks as just generally shitty and undesirable to the point where it makes more sense to just not bother with the aggregate because the exceptions don't offset the costs of doing so.
I really wish it were otherwise, but reality is exceedingly unkind in this regard.
I get the point you are making (and dont blame someone who comes to that conclusion because there is ample evidence do so) but I’ll always give any individual a chance and maybe we become friends.
I don't disallow for that outcome, I just don't start with that as an expectation. I'll assume the worst and allow people to prove that assumption incorrect. Doesn't mean I have to be rude or hostile, just guarded initially.
I think that there's a lot of intellectual cross-pollination between more mainstream black activism and the fringe groups like Nation of Islam and the Black Hebrew Israelites. So you see crazy nonsense creep into the mainstream.
Egypt was never majority Greek. Not sure where you got that idea. Greeks were a small minority in the land, concentrated in the Ptolemaic capital of Alexandria. They also arrived very late. Egyptians are also definitely not white nor close. Only Americans would consider them 'white' - as the US government does, bizarrely.
Nah that's an Egyptian, I can tell the difference between the two as he looks like he's tired from the shit you get being in-between Israel and the rest of Africa.
I think EVERY race is tired of African Americans at this point, they'd be the guys you send to scout first so that their screams tell you if you need to run away.
I worked with a guy once whose parents and older relatives came from Nigeria. I asked him about that and he said his parents and aunts/uncles didn’t care much for black Americans because they felt that they complain too much and dont appreciate the opportunities that America offers.
I've traveled through much of Africa, and it's amazing how the people make do with the corrupt heads at the top. Those who come west of the Atlantic know exactly how bad it is when the talking heads are corrupt, and the rank and file try to justify it for the talking heads. Cultivating entitlement and ignorance, is how the talking heads can take more while giving less.
(Un)Fortunately Biden's government is removing the facade of propriety. This facade is something that African/Asia nations never had from day 1. What's worse? The snake that shows its fangs, or the one that hides it?
Yea, the African immigrants I’ve met are very grateful to be in America. Interesting point about corruption because we are definitely seeing the fangs now.
As a reminder, the people involved with the Cleopatra shit aren't Americans (except JPS), they're British. It's basically going to start being "Western Non-Whites" that everyone fucking hates.
The last time I saw Zahi on tv was on some german channel I had on my cable. They were live-broadcasting from the Great Pyramid, sending some kinda probe down a chute that had been sealed since forever. Of course, the feed ended with the camera going into a closed-off rock wall, but you know that shit was staged. Either the feed was from a different camera or it was pre-recorded. But fine, let the guy keep his country's secrets secret, otherwise he would have been forced to dig up whatever is down there and prostitute Egypt's history for the proles.

Have you missed the last few years? Didn't get out of the way quickly enough I'll wager.
I have observed. Hawas is not going to be taken down. He survived the Green Revolution in Egypt, he'll survive this.

Why would it being a lie matter to blacks? Do you think they value honesty or something?
Well I certainly do. But like you said for every Thomas Sowell there are a lot more who aren’t. As much as I wish that wasn’t true I’m seeing it.
Yup. It's entirely possible to appreciate the gems, without wanting to get coal on your hands.
Now personally I follow the whole “judge by content of character” mindset from a Christian perspective and I’ll give anyone a chance but I totally understand how certain attitudes arise. I completely get it now. I may be a very optimistic person but I definitely see where you are coming from.
I'm an optimistic person too. I'm also a Christian.
But the Good Samaritan put the travelers in an inn. Not his own house.
Good analogy. I’ve helped homeless but also helped them find people who were able to assist them. Actually assist. Not government assistance
What is your position on man's fallen nature?
My position is that you've spewed more than enough ignorance, lies and blasphemy to have long since disqualified yourself from any discussion of religious doctrine.
100%.
I don't pre-judge anyone -- but it becomes painfully obvious who conforms to stereotypes with 5 minutes of meeting them.
Maybe 10 years ago I gave people more of a chance, but it is largely a waste of time.
Understand. I have this constant struggle between what I know is reality and what I wish were true. Like I’d love to see everyone getting along and respecting/loving their fellow man but reality is far from that

That’s true
Night at the Museum.

If you don't care about the pyramids, temples, the Biblical connection, or anything other than Cleopatra, then yes.

Meme magic is real.
“Tha’s not an Egyptian! Now this, THIS is an Egyptian!”
Almost as funny as when they lost their freaking mind because Rami Malek was cast to play an Egyptian Prince in Night at the Museum.
Well, just give them an assignment detailling the history of Cleopatras reign and fail everyone that claims she was black.

We're starting to see other races openly being sick of white liberals promoting the "we wuz kangs and shiet" narrative.
