Because it’s the only thing that keeps reality at bay. This isn’t anything new, women are getting hit hard with the same need for validation as the multiple tattoos, septum piercing and body count that puts Chris Kyle to shame are now pushing the wall and freaking out about being old and alone. This is where the chronic need for validation comes in, they have to “ride the high”, have to normalize their depression from a life wasted as a positive, and they can only do so from continued affirmation from others they did the right thing.
I get more response from posting this than the long link lists. Just saying.
I always read those posts, but it's just a bit awkward that if I'm responding to something it's 2% of the post that I'm responding to and probably a different article than other people might be commenting on. I think it's just the nature of that type of post.
I post everything that caught my interest. So I understand the awkwardness.

Chrono Trigger is my favorite video game of all time.
I have completed it hundreds of times since 1995, getting everyone to level two-stars (99) and with enough Power/Magic/Speed Tabs to raise everyone's stats to two-stars.
There is no trans shit in it.

Escapist entertainment is not indicative of a happy person. It's usually the opposite. Not saying escapism is always inheritly bad, it's just a terrible rebuttal.

They can't admit they're nerds so they become 'new thing' like so many hipsters, emos, and goths before them.
Do they get laid after? I find it hard to believe. This is my theory:
I assume many of them, sadly have a not so great life, no girlfriend, overweight, few to no friends, I doubt they have some great job prospects. What is worse is that it all falls on their choice but what if you tell them it is because they are trans? Suddenly all the failures in life are no longer their fault, they can continue with their lives as is and they are protected and even celebrated in some circles.
At that point they already hate their body, hate their lives, society for not making easier for them and do not fit in to the standard male archetype, is not a great leap to being trans. Hence why so many are low effort trans.
Remember teasing a CT fan boy I knew by saying Daggerfall was better, got him to play it too. (Use this if you want too)
Maybe for the moment you can enjoy your autistic delusions and ignore the real world by playing jRPGs but reality is a bitch.. we'll see how happy you are when you can't get a mentally stable life partner (if any) or the long term effects of your mutilations cause you severe health problems.
