I'm really only surprised she looks like from a circa 1994 CD-ROM game cutscene

What TMNT fans are loving it? At the risk of being called a gatekeeper I don’t believe they are real fans and are Twitter weirdos who are unaware the April O’Neill was originally black story has been thoroughly debunked.
Gatekeep away my friend. If the last decade has taught me anything it's that you mustn't let innocent looking people with covertly shitty intentions into your spaces. Use any way to filter them out or given enough time it will be you looking on from the outside in, and you best bet they will be the ones gatekeeping you.
That is absolutely correct. If only we had gate kept when nerdy things started to be trendy
Only NPCs and the type that need to be "gatekept" still try to act like gatekeeping is a bad thing. Please do it, it's the only way to prevent things from being overtaken by grifters and dumbed down into homogeneous slop.
The people who complain about gatekeeping are the ones the gate is there to defend against, as they say.
Also if you give up the gate, you can rest assured that they'll furiously gatekeep you out once they've taken over.
Media and entertainment needs gatekeepers to keep the genres pure. Like unvaxed blood.
One of my biggest annoyances are the people who never cared about an IP until it became trendy and then they became experts via Wikipedia
"Fans" on social media that won't be watching it.
True.
TMNT: Soylent Mayhem - A Rant by Razorfist
Top comment: "April looks like someone tried to make Whoopi Goldberg with the Mass Effect Andromeda character creator"
The author, Adam Bentz, is a white jew kid obviously trolling for hate clicks. "fans are loving" & "black again" are both calculated to spark outrage and get hate views and hate clicks and stir shit up.
Obviously Bentz has calculated that he will benefit from negative attention. Don't feed the troll.
It's also a deeply offensive statement on its face. Imagine if they de-blackwashed Nick Fury and said "fans are loving that Fury is white again!". The screeching from NPCs would deafen all life on earth. But somehow implying that racial erasure is a good thing just soars right over the heads of 90% of people when it's happening to white people.
I always wonder how many white people it would soar by. The ones I talk to have universally noticed that they are being discriminated against in some capacity. If they are racial masochists, then they may be happy about that, but they at least realize it.
They tend to just be a little bit small minded about it. One guy will notice he was passed over for a promotion in his gov't job (think fireman or the military), another guy will notice because he used to be in landscaping until the Mexicans took it over, and a third guy is really concerned with college admissions. Not as many put all the cases together, and even fewer know what to do about it.
While people are enthusiastic about Red/Blue politics -- enthusiastic about Trump -- people largely find voting ineffective. They don't have an outlet for any white rage. The GOP would shut it down.
libtards on twitter claim that April was originally black but was then changed to a redhead, but this is stupid and wrong.
We wuz April O'Neil and sheeit
We wuz black Irish n shit
Of course it’s calculated malice from who other than the (((author))).
First lie
Second lie
Third lie
Fourth lie
I was thinking the same thing; she looks like a late-80's claymation character.
pro?
Mouse over it and it explains itself.
What about us phoneposter scum? What are we to do?
PRO
Maybe on the scored.win/c/ display there's something, but even with inspect element, nothing appears for kotakuinaction2.win users.
It just says "Supports the platform with a Pro subscription."
just tried on 2 different browsers and nothing appears
Well, gadzooks, mouseover worked yesterday. It says "Supports the platform with a Pro subscription"
She looks like one of the puppets from Lazy Town.

They're holding up the anime industry single-handedly
“TMNT fans are loving…”
Press x to doubt
Try it yourself: go to any fan art site and search "April O'Neil". What does she look like?
I just did a google search for April O’Neil fan art. I was scrolling for a while before a non white april showed up. And I don’t think that image was fan art but a screenshot….. maybe they mean fans with no artistic talent.
They actually mean fans of making gingers black. As in people that don't even know what TMNT is beyond maybe the Bay-Movies
Looks like that grubhub commercial
Kerrigan really let herself go...
I can't unsee it.
Someone shop her into a Fallout 2 dialogue the lighting is 1:1
That headline seems a bit half baked. Please, allow me.
"Progressive Cultists Are Loving That Blapril O'Negro Is Making The Right People Angry"
Season with clap, fire and 100% emojis to taste. Best plated in small portions on social media. Pairs well with presumed oppression or assumed bigotry.
They have been doing a lot lately of blackwashing and then pretending to be shocked that anyone got mad. The narrative shifts, frequently, from pissing off the right people to innocent experiment that golly gee why would anyone get upset to outright admitting that they are doing this as a paean to diversity and don't all you consoomers of color just love us (pandering).
Hey! CD-ROMS were better than that. This is not comparable to the glory that is Morshu. Come back when you have enough rupees!
Don't you dare malign a noble genre that gave us masterpieces like Critical Path!!
You just had me give a click to The Gamer, motherfuckers somehow even worse than Kotaku and Polygon.
I just played a modern game with an idea like that, Observation. https://youtube.com/watch?v=9RHVJLbrWW8
It’s impressive that they fit so many lies into such a short headline.
