The same exact chain can have radically different appearance and structure depending on who they're selling stuff too.
Near a ghetto? Not really different than your typical grocery store, complete with all the liquor kept 'locked up'(IE, behind the service counter.) Good neighborhood with a decidedly white majority? Like an open-air market/buffet(except indoors) with a massive alcohol section with all the good stuff on easy access and display.
Over the last couple years the grocery stores in my area installed those gates that won't allow you to leave the store without setting off an alarm so people have to leave through the checkout areas. That coincided with the explosion of the nonwhite population, which I'm sure had nothing to do with it. /s
The grocery store where I live has 0 security (beyond probably having break in alarms)
There is nothing locked away, there isn't a machine at the exit that beeps of you steal, no guns behind the counter, some of their stuff is outside and could be stolen if you're just sneaky enough.
I'm not even sure if they have surveillance and yet I've never heard of them having been stolen from.
There have been times when people ask to come around later to pay for stuff they pick-up, usually when change isn't available.

I think a bigger problem than low IQ is that our culture actively inculcates in these people the idea that they are victims without full access to society and therefore are entitled to break the law and vote for handouts that reinforce that degenerate attitude through the generations.

I was able to notice something similar in my country when using shopping carts. Same grocery chains would have them all constantly unlocked in the country but require money in the city. I wonder what the demographic difference is 🤔
Yeah. This article is pretty stupid and light on any real argument. It puts the total retail shrinkage loss at under $100B (including non-self checkout related theft) which doesn't seem close to causing an increase in hiring. That's especially true when the level of theft is obviously extremely dependent on the local population. Then it quotes a single attorney who admits he "hates" self checkouts and he's talking about how actually the anti-theft mechanisms for self checkout are too powerful and falsely accuse people of theft.
I get the "you have to wait for an employee to check before you can cash out" prompt pretty well every other time I use self-checkout. The camera sees something that it flags as scam or un-scanned and I have to stand there and "wait for assistance".
In societies that value law and order and social cohesion (so not mass accepting a lot of third world rejects), things like self checkouts and the like will stay as they can be more time efficient, cost saving.
Anywhere else, no so we all know the obvious solution here, copy Japan's policy

Not sure why they even have them because they still need the same amount of employees. They used to have two registers with one employee each. Now they have 4 self-checkouts with the same two employees watching over them.
Some of it will stick around, but a lot of the technological gimmicks we're currently experiencing, including this so-called 'AIs' will be gone or reduced to background noise. They're just shit fads, the technology is not viable.
For example with the self-checkout: All of Amazon's markets, where they had no cashiers but self-checkouts, are now closed.
The real push is going to be those "grab and walk out" stores, powered by RFID. Instead of a Loss Prevension goon harassing you (they'll let blacks walk because they don't want to be stabbed), they'll just charge you and you can argue about their mistake on a phone call to India who doesn't give a shit and won't do anything to reverse any charge.
I often stand there wondering what answer I would get if I asked them to imagine how they would feel if they hadn't have had breakfast this morning....
Self-Checkouts likely would work in 95%+ white pop areas but the higher the black pop, the worse your outcome with them will be.

If retailers get rid of self checkout, it's because the added costs of maintenance and oversight exceeded their expectations.
Sometimes the customer using it is a retard and sometimes the interface is confusing or unintuitive.

I don't use self-checkouts and I pay in cash every single time. I don't carry a phone or ID.
