If I was the dictator, I would bring back gladiatorial arenas, and take everyone in prison for capital offenses, and put them in a death match tournament where they fight to the death in an arena using randomized weapons and terrain for the entertainment of the home audience.
Make it like "Battle Royale" where the winner gets released. But also make it like Squid Game where you start with hundreds of people and 99.5% of them end up dead.

I don’t think anyone can claim solvency from the general opinion of family. Humans are social creatures by nature and the stronger the familial bond the harder it is to digress from them. Funnily enough the “progressives” have no problem being the authoritarians in families despite having the least to offer, though I suspect that’s because they understand they can act in defiance of of standards while others hold themselves to a Christian or sensible accountability to family. That is why we see the teens with the most social tyranny and willingness to debase themselves to hurt others.
