peer review: lol a coin toss. the experiment proves women's art is not secretly more popular in test.
In a qualitative, subjective, survey, of different paintings.
In other news, dice prefer even numbers because I rolled 3 dice once, and the die came up with even numbers 2 out of 3 times.
I like the painting but that is a pretty wild conclusion. I guess they never were taught the scientific method
Also, 50% of those surveyed were women and the other 50% were simps. White males excluded.
I don't know if 4% is meaningful or below error margin, but I'd expect feminine sensibility to show in art. Sometimes I can tell when something was made by a woman.
lol wut? How is it discrimination in a blind study?
Regardless of how a procedure works, if it doesn't come out with equal outcomes, then the cause of the inequality can ONLY be through discrimination.
It's our responsibility as citizen-scientists to back-rationalize how the patriarchy did this. I argue it was from psychic auras within the painting that hypnotized the viewers.
Kek. Now I'm just going to psychic harder! [concentrates in patriarchy]
Maga Kadabra used Psychic!
Your brain on disparate impact theory.
I have a pic somewhere from a real life leftist presentation explicitly stating that any attempt to attribute disparate outcomes to anything other than prejudice was de facto bigotry.
I mean yeah, I could easily make a dissertation out of that.
"The Psychic Violence of White Feminism and it's Subversion of Justice Feminism Praxis"
One is more aesthetically pleasing. One is more dynamic. Checks out. Emotion versus technique.
lol
They showed the paintings to people who are probably not interested in this sort of art and thus don't know what the buyer would be looking for.
Tying in with 1, the value of any artwork is as much about the buyer's perception of the artist as it is the quality of the artwork. Almost all artists, regardless of technical ability, rely more on their ability to generate a personality cult around themselves than they do their skills. The average buyer wants to be able to say they have a <insert name of famous painter>, not that they have an exquisite piece by someone nobody has heard of. Most buyers are trend-followers, not trend-setters.
Bandwagons. Nothing is more important for becoming a popular artist than producing the right picture at the right time. You have probably seen and been amazed by how fast fanart of the hot new videogame/anime character gets pumped out - there can be a hundred stunning images from some of the most popular artists online within hours of a new character being announced or becoming popular. This happens because striking while the iron is hot is paramount if an artist wants to get the most eyes on their work. It's no good producing an amazing picture of something people aren't currently interested in. It's far, far better for you produce a merely 'good' picture of what people are clamoring to see at that moment. ...I can't help but notice that most of the female artists here come decades, if not a lifetime after the male artists they're being compared to.
They cherry-picked the paintings they showed in the survey.
If women are better painters it is because their fathers don't beat the shit out of them for saying they want to be painters.
source: I get paid to draw porn and it's exactly the fucking same.
I feel that this needs repeating for good measure.
One is stuck between the advice of "draw what you want to draw, so that you don't burn out, and the advice of drawing whatever the latest flavour of the month fanart is, whether you like the franchise or not.
So many good artists out there who never get any discoverability because they spend all their effort into drawing, and none on playing popularity games.
Well, that was a weird twist.

What the everlasting gobstopper am I reading
Yeah, it's a pretty easy claim to make when you take a painting by a female artist, then cherry-pick a similar-looking but obviously inferior one by a male artist. More people are obviously going to lean towards the former. Also, you're asking people which paintings they prefer, not what they actually like. There's a difference. I would prefer to drink a glass of urine than to eat a bowl of shit, but I really wouldn't want to ever consume either of them.
Not to mention 54% preferred the female artists? That's not really a significant difference. As people have already said here, that's practically a coin flip.
This is not a quantification of popularity! This is a fucking guessing game! Most people don't know anything about these paintings or their affiliated artists, let alone whether they even existed prior to seeing them (which goes to show just how popular they really are). Nevermind that the fame/popularity of paintings and artists today does not match what they were back in their times. We need not mention the number of artists who lived their whole lives in poverty, yet whose paintings sell for millions decades or centuries after their deaths.
The only people who honestly give a damn about the vast majority of historical paintings and painters are the same art snobs within the communities and universities that claim to see sexism everywhere. Which goes to show how in the end, all they're doing is projecting.
Interdasting.
Probably a bell curve difference between male and female. A lot of women are GOOD artists compared to men. But men usually produce the BEST artists (and any number of things)
Test, like a woman testing her man with a trap question. IE "Do these pants make me look fatter?"
always answer yes, and the questions will soon stop.
What a bunch of shit.
The reason your work is worth less is because your work always revolves around your hate.
This is fucking ridiculous. You do the thing where you hallucinate hate behind it, because of your own hate for women.
Some female artists are bitches, just like some male ones are also bitches.
But what sort of fucking hate is there behind that painting of a little girl?
Did you look at the paintings in the article? Let me guess, you become impure if you look at a painting done by a woman or some shit. They are all done about perfectly netural subject matter, like a vase with flowers. How is there hate behind it?
Or are you just raging about things only existing in your head again?
I've noticed you only reply to me when you think you can get a cheap win in the argument.
I never mentioned the paintings in the article, I was speaking about why art is worth less when women do it. The most famous female artists are the likes of Tracey Emin, people who put their feminism into everything they do. No shit it's worthless.
Also, selling your unmade bed as art for $2m is a fucking joke. If anything, women's work is overvalued.

I only reply when you are saying outrageously wild ass things. Like this. I don't care when you are just wrong, but these theories about March being the secret, but official "women sacrifice men for... Satan or whatever" month or the one about Ukrainian female assassins sent by Luxemburg, or this... yeah, they are your greatest hits of mental shit.
Is Tracey Emin the most famous female artist? Is she the one people think of when they think of female artists? Or is it you picking one that first your idea, but is wholly unremarkable?
Because we can find a bunch of crazy, but wholly meh male artists who were fucked in one way or another.
Is selling your unmade bed better or worse than whatever the fuck Jackson Pollock was running?
I would have thought maybe Georgia O'Keefe. Those flowers and cow skulls are just BOILING OVER with hatred, don't you see it??
Lisa Frank is all about DEATH TO MEN.
I don't think it's outrageously wild. The majority of famous female artists are political activists, and deflecting with "Katie (example name) who painted this picture of a nice vase didn't show any hate" shows you didn't understand the article.
They're asking why female artists don't make the big bucks like Van Gogh or Monet, and the answer is, because they don't want to make art, they want to make a political statement. Emin is the best example, because she sold her "art" of used condoms and period stained underwear for two million dollars to someone ideologically aligned. (I hope. I really hope it is just that and not some art critic who thinks they can see more in it.)
The majority of male artists are also politically involved and such. That's what artists do, they are disconnected, hollier than thou cunts.
Big artists also made political points, don't pretend that is not a thing. Also, people like Van Gogh were incredibly unsuccessful durint their lifetime.
Art is a very fickle thing, it's a fact of life. You can't pretend that Emin's shit also wasn't an inner art circle money laundering thing, which, again, they do all the time, male or female. If you are in, you are in. If some fucker needs to launder money, art is the perfect thing for that.
So I guess you prefer the pure work of male artists, like Piss Christ.

For the few valid points you make, you turn yourself into a caricature by fighting these stupid and indefensible fights ("your work always revolves around your hate").
He made $15k from the state and nobody wanted it. Seems like the system worked as I said. It had no value, so it was assigned no value.
They're easy against you because you say insane, completely unsubstantiated things that you've pulled out of your ass.
You mean like how feminists do secretly desire all men dead?
Oh, wait, one got caught on tape.
