I got sucked into a little argument because someone posted about George Floyd. I guess he was angry because he along with other "protesters" from the summer of love were being told that they worship Floyd and he took exception to that because he said speaking out against police brutality. I told him that it was possible to be against police brutality while also not making a martyr out of people. Like giving Floyd a golden casket funeral like he was some medal of honor winner during the "deadly" covid pandemicthat apparently didn't affect rioters. Also asked him why they don't bother to examine the actual facts of these shootings since pretty much all of them involve not listening to the cops or resisting.
Long story short he wasn't thrilled with that. I asked if he fought against police brutality when Tony Tympa died (of course he hadn't heard of him) and when I mentioned David Dorn he said that Dorn wasn't killed by peaceful protesters.
Long story short he told me I was following white supremacist talking points and blocked me when I said that apparently white supremacy means not doing things that attract the cops.
I still don't understand why people don't realize you can be against police brutality and hold cops accountable while also not worshipping people and making them saints. Interesting how the whole "you can't talk about their past" rules went out the window with Ashli Babbit.

Dude went from “I love the military” to threatening to fight me because I told him Trump had declassification powers, and gave historical examples of fbi and journalistic corruption. "Social Media" is a place where you post what you ate, selfies and publish your life and do a whole lot of virtue signaling. It's tied to 'you'. That's why I don't do social media as I have no desire to publish my life (and it has ostracized me somewhat). I do have a linkedin account for purely professional reasons and I'm constantly amazed at what a cesspool it's become and how people will just spew their idiocy on there as if that isn't going to affect their employability.

When they reply with George Floyd, I will say that if it had happened to a white person, they would not have known or cared. They will respond by saying that it does not or would not happen to white people. And then I say: in fact, it did, his name is Tony Timpa, and you neither knew nor care about it. (Unfortunately, I'm no longer at university so there is a limit to how aggressive and hostile I can be.)

Division is what creates power. If you advance objectives everyone agrees with, like that Chauvin was wrong (which is 90%+ opinion), then you are not creating power for your movement. So you must shift the debate in such a way to force a large number of people to disagree with you, and you do that by being unreasonable.
This was also the explanation in an article about why BLM mostly focused on supposed victims who were terrible people and who were in the wrong, like Michael Brown, rather than more innocuous people like that cigarette salesman or Walter Scott.
I first heard about no knock warrants because it happened to an elderly white couple who the cops went to by mistake. Also a white guy was mistakenly killed but that didn’t matter since it didn’t feed the narrative. But you are right. So many blm “heroes” were resisting violently. Even Floyd didn’t listen to the cops. I’ve said police brutality affects everyone so it should be an issue that unites races since there are cases with people of all races. But that will never happen.

Philando Castile also comes to mind. As far as I can tell, his only "crime" was informing a police officer at a traffic stop for a broken taillight that he was carrying a licensed firearm. The officer panicked and shot him, believing that he was reaching for said firearm.
I respect that officers put their lives on the line, but they have training, while civilians do not. If routine traffic stops are always going to be tense life-and-death situations, without citzens knowing the rules, we need some sort of reform.

Also, these people have been trained by decades of completely faulty education, to never accept that they've lost a point and use that to modify their own conclusions, or to accept an opponent's proven point and compromise. They've been trained that in the event that they've lost any argument, to run back to a "trusted authority" that agrees with them, and use that to simply dismiss any opposition out of hand. People who consider themselves "the smart ones" have been indoctrinated as severely as any Scientologist, and to lose an argument pertaining to one of their sacred positions is a threat to their entire sense-of-self.

If the orthodoxy were to lose an argument through them, the entire delusion of intellectual and moral superiority might be shown for the fraud it is. Any given argument might seem like not such a big deal to you, but for them it could provoke a total mental breakdown.
Yea, that Shaver video is very hard to watch. I didn't even learn about that case til Matt Walsh played the video in one of his shows I was watching.
Walsh has written a lot for Reason magazine, and I don't remember if it was him, but Reason was writing a lot about police brutality and shootings way before BLM. Of course Reason's coverage was race neutral, focusing on unaccountable cops as the bad guys instead of white cops.
It's also funny because no one ever doubted that blacks bore a lot of police brutality, having more encounters with the police and being criminals more often. Reason probably wouldn't go "despite making up only 13%..." but any sane person could figure it out. It was a message that was intended to benefit the black community, along with you know everyone else. Libertarians also didn't deify the fucking criminals: the message was that criminals are bad whether they are working for the police for or not.

Maybe, but people tend to surround themselves with people who reinforce their beliefs, so even if you cut them off from their media feed, they're still gonna have their friends going off about whatever propaganda's trending on Twitter or wherever. You can cut them off from the tech, but they're still gonna get their updates via their social circle so it's an incomplete solution.
In my experience what it comes down to is if they are feminine/ emotional. Being a soyboy is like a drug addiction, they dont want help they just want the feels. I've got plenty of guys I can work on because they can be rational over feelings.

One of the simplist yet easiest methods for this with police was body cams, it stopped A TON of complaints as now, they knew they were monitored in all their actions and people were less likely to file bad faith complaints as they had video evidence.
But this level of accountability is not practiced by your BLM, capitol police or FBI, how many times have you heard "they were in fear for their lives, they aren't responsible for their actions". They put people aloft so they can't be held accountable for past transgressions, only the incident that got them into the news. Reminds me of that Bill Burr sketch on hitting a woman.
Yep, I heard that stat about police cameras. I know in the Breonna Taylor case they didn't have their cameras on which hurt them because you knew the media would push a certain narrative. And blm doesn't know the meaning of accountability. Jacob Blake was a clear cut case of someone resisting violently and they still rioted over him.

They want to be right about everything and any inconvenience is either ignored or enrages them further. They must constantly be the victim. It is the only way. Either that, or they must face reality that bad things happen to good people and there is almost often no consequences or reasons why. It's easier fooling people than convincing them of being duped. Attempting such becomes far more difficult when they're fooled into revering their chains.
