In the years after his first show and before his "resurgence," he did an ad for an ionized water cleaner. It was a spray bottle with a battery in it that sold for $150. He claimed it could clean anything.

Not entirely accurate, for example recycling can handle pizza boxes with I think it was 30% food oil. The examples in the research I read about it were absolutely disgusting.
Overall point is right, butmetals are still great since being elemental they just go into the smelter and come out perfect. Magnetic especially since they are easily machine sorted.
I believe aluminium is the best metal for recycling despite not being magnetic: because of how much electricity it takes to purify aluminium from bauxite, anything that lets you skip that process means you're 95% done.
Yeah, the production of aluminum requires something called the Bayer process which results in a waste product called "red mud" which isn't pleasant.

Why did anyone give this guy any attention? His entire claim to fame is a fucking children's science show and inventing a part for the 747. The man's work is an emaciated piss ant compared to what Sagan or Hawking did.
