Not entirely accurate, for example recycling can handle pizza boxes with I think it was 30% food oil. The examples in the research I read about it were absolutely disgusting.
Overall point is right, butmetals are still great since being elemental they just go into the smelter and come out perfect. Magnetic especially since they are easily machine sorted.
I believe aluminium is the best metal for recycling despite not being magnetic: because of how much electricity it takes to purify aluminium from bauxite, anything that lets you skip that process means you're 95% done.
Yeah, the production of aluminum requires something called the Bayer process which results in a waste product called "red mud" which isn't pleasant.
