As the HR department goes. So goes the company. Eventually the woke gatekeepers get a critical mass of minions in place so that they can even take down a weak willed CEO from his own company.
I am so sick of self-appointed busy-bodies with myopic political agendas constantly trying to chew my food for me and tell me what is true and what isn't true.
I've gotten to the point where as soon as I see someone unironically using the words misinformation or disinformation, I can rest assured that they want to force their own lies and propaganda on to me.
No kidding. Their reverse image search really shows how much the rest of them block things. It's 10x better than any alternative I've tried at actually finding something.
I tested its limits once. I found a photo of a woman in a shirt, then I made her shirt pink. Then I flipped the image horizontally. Then I rotated the image by 10 degrees and cropped it.
Then I did a reverse image search and Yandex STILL found the original from my edit.
Yeah. I've been watching his channel for a while. I think he goes by "alpha nerd" on Odysee and Mental Outlaw on Jootube. He has some good content. He used to do a lot of videos on Linux.
I tried Yandex for a while. Decent results but I had to switch to English every time I restarted my browser because I throw out all cookies when I close it. Maybe there's a way to avoid that but I was too lazy to try :)
I've been using Brave search since then. It's ok for 95% of the searches but it's not great for complex searches, but neither was DDG. One advantage of Brave is that it has decent local search results (I'm not in the US). DDG sucked at that.
"Our goal is to make us as similar to google chrome as possible, as they make all the money. Also our mascot isn't a leech, it's 18th century medicine."
Startpage is now my searchengine. Been getting shit results for a while from Duckduckgoose, and had to start using other browsers to get what I wanted. Fucking joke.
There's a thread on the subreddit that also explains that the EU mandates that European based tech companies do this shit in their sanctions, so this doesn't surprise me.
maybe i'll finally switch from using firefox, which doesn't appear to have any non-compromised search engine options. What's better - brave search? quant?
Just uninstalled their app. I'm not even pro Russia (I'm pro who the hell cares), but they've demonstrated their NPC affiliation too many times to be trusted now. I'm not sending data to a company that aligns itself with tyranny.
The writing was on the wall when they donated to leftist buzzword NGOs and turned down white applicants in favor of obviously less qualified "minorities".
They fund NPR. That is all you need to know.

Get woke. Go broke.
Keep the gate, or be gatekept.

Reminds me of a Twain Quote: "Censorship is telling a man he can't have a steak just because a baby can't chew it."
Meat eating is white supremacy and just using it as a metaphor is murder in current year.
Seriously.
What the fuck do they think gives them the right?
They can do it and no one stops them.
Jewish ran company is not to be trusted. Shocking!
Ok then. Time to switch to Yandex. (until they get bankrupted and shut down)
It's all so tiring.
I don't know how I'm gonna live without Yandex reverse image search.
Google is garbage.

Fucking mindblowing.
Perhaps they used the Image Metadata to match it with the original one.
Yeah, need to test it again with the EXIF stripped.
What is a good alternative? Bravesearch?
I installed Brave a couple of weeks ago, they have a built in vpn which makes censored websites easy to access, Thumbs up to them so far.
I've been using Brave browser for a year.
Didn't realize it had an internal VPN.
Cool.
Only complaint I have is the ad frequency if you opt in to that BAT stuff. I stopped and haven't had a complaint since.

Also I recommend following Mental Outlaw on Odysee. He's a good source for how to avoid the glowies and the corporate globo homo
I think the first video I noticed of his was the one on crypto miners in Norton.
Seems like a good 'canary in the coal mine' sort of channel.

If you're looking for decent Linux vids Luke Smith is pretty good, but I kinda think he's full of himself and a tad unhinged.
Yeah. I watch him to. He reminds me of that hipster faggot Jack Conte from Patreon but not as dumb. I watch his content to sometimes.

It defaults to English for me.
Find that cookie and set it to read-only or set as protected in your browser. It's possible.
We're going to have to go back to Webrings. I guess it's time to start coding a new modern one, we can set up the Russian
Misinformation Web Ring."Our goal is to make us as similar to google chrome as possible, as they make all the money. Also our mascot isn't a leech, it's 18th century medicine."

Why don't we just use forums like this in the future?
It worked incredibly well up until 2008.

How are Startpage and Ecosia as alternatives?
Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.
